JADZIADAX REVEALS ALL... LOOK HERE NOW!!!!!!

Now that I have your attention:

Please be aware that we do not allow the posting of pictures of anyone under the age of 18 in ANY of the forums.

If we see the pictures, we will either delete them or edit them, and send you a little reminder. Repeat offenders will be dealt with on an individual basis.

You may notice in some of the threads here, in particular the older posts, that a lot of the pictures are rexed. Some rexed on their own. Others had the URL of the image replaced with "picture removed - child".

I know that from this point forward, everyone will take better care in their posts.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Diablo 08-09-2003 11:05 AM

Including non-nude posts? For example, if someone were to post a pic they found on google in the Feeling Picture thread of some kid crying for the emotion sad, it would be removed?

JadziaDax 08-09-2003 11:10 AM

NO PICTURES (NUDE OR CLOTHED) OF ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18.

Is that better? ;)

vermin 08-09-2003 12:07 PM

Just to clarify, how does this apply to drawings?

Kyp 08-09-2003 12:56 PM

So nobody can post the Arguing / Special Olympics picture anymore? :(

JadziaDax 08-09-2003 01:10 PM

vermin: as far as I've been made aware, as long as these drawings are not of an explicit nature, are not of abuse of any kind, or not a depiction of a real life event, then they are ok. But will still be considered on an item by item basis. If a mod or admin finds them unacceptable, they will be removed.

Kyp: those were never allowed. Children pictures were never allowed. It was just a matter of us finding them to remove them.

i8one2 08-09-2003 01:19 PM

Apparently some people are deaf or hard of reading, I understood what you trying to say the first time. Maybe they are trying to push some kind of envelope, and if that is the case let them move on to a more appropriate forum, swapping kiddy pictures they want to share with there parent and grandparents.! DUH...

WhoaitsZ 08-10-2003 12:29 AM

you know sometimes people just wanto to be clear about some rules.
better to ask right away specifics than to stay in the dark.

John Henry 08-10-2003 02:05 AM

Why is this on the nonsense board? It makes a lot of sense.

Please try to make less sense :)

I'm going to ignore that this was said because people should know by now the important things like rules and stuff like that are always a "Notice" on each forum.

Yes. Even in Tilted Nonsense we have rules.

bernadette 08-10-2003 12:19 PM

good policy. kudos.

kalisto_911 08-11-2003 06:29 AM

What about infants, like the Anne Geddes photos and such?

dragon2fire 08-11-2003 09:19 AM

is this that hard no one under 18

seems easy to me

YourNeverThere 08-11-2003 10:56 AM

Good I Hate Children!! HAHAHA first step, no pictures on TFP, next step! WORLD DOMINATION! hahahahahaha, also, ya, its a good rule.

Munku 08-11-2003 11:41 AM

What exactly is the reasoning behind this? I can understand not to, I'm not trying to ask for exceptions like Infants and crap. I was just curious.

JadziaDax 08-11-2003 03:35 PM

Yours is not to reason why...

Come on people, it's a rule of the TFP. A rule we've had for quite some time now that people have chosen to ignore. Well, no more. Ignorance of the rules is no excuse. When you mysteriously find you cannot log into your account, the words "I didn't know" are not acceptable. The rules are posted for all to see. It is your responsibility as a member of this community to read and abide by these rules, not to question them.

That being said, do you need further clarification on the "NO PICTURES OF ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18" thing? or do you get it now?

spectre 08-12-2003 04:48 PM

If they were underage when the pic was taken, the pic is still of someone underage. It doesn't matter what their age is now.

SaltPork 08-13-2003 06:38 AM

Oh my fucking God!! What is so hard to understand??? Is the picture a picture of someone under 18? If you answer yes, then don't post it. If they are of legal age now, but weren't when the picture was taken, then it doesn't matter...the picture is of a person under 18 and therefore not allowed. Not a difficult rule to understand.

Then why are people still posting pictures of children?

bernadette 08-14-2003 03:27 PM

my guess is this rule is applied because this a very large msg board & there is no doubt a few sickos about...

yes. feel free to call me captain obvious.

did pete townsend ever get out of that unseemly quagmire of his?

rockogre 08-15-2003 09:42 AM

I am still shocked by the blatant mis-representation of this thread.

Here I was, all drooly and stuff, finally, Jadzia is going to show us the whole package, clicked on the thread...................... and got a public service announcement.

Try to imagine my disappointment! A very worthwile message but a total abuse of those of us that think with our little heads.

I just never thought that I would be so abused here at the TFP!

I am crushed Jadzia, just crushed.

JadziaDax 08-15-2003 11:39 AM

Sorry to disappoint, rockogre, but I needed everyone's attention on this one. No one seemed to listen to or read the rules otherwise.

I know you'll get over it :)

Pete Townsend was acquited. Apparently his defense was that he had done some browsing of child porn sites as 'research' to see if he could recall having been sexually abused as a child. Yeah, right, and I'm the pope!

BentNotTwisted 08-15-2003 12:09 PM

So, I take it this:

Would be ok? :D (subtly trying to get a point across)

Apologies to kalisto_911, I just couldn't help myself!

Don't apologize to kalisto_911...

Anyone who has already posted in this thread and then goes out and posts a picture of a child in a thread is just asking for it...

No need to apologize.

And no need to get a point across, either.

Thanks for trying.

prosequence 08-15-2003 02:11 PM

Wow, my head hurts... of course is what people say when they bang their heads against a wall. Folks, a wall is a wall, a rule is a rule, get philosophical if you want and debate if the wall even really exists, but it comes down to it, step up give it a crack with your noggin, if it hurts, it's a wall.

Yes. Even in Tilted Nonsense we have rules.

Sorry, I was just trying to express my support for your point in a lighthearted way. I realise I should have treated the situation with appropriate gravity. Apologies to anyone I offended.

docbungle 08-18-2003 05:52 PM

That is all.

pangavan 08-18-2003 08:40 PM

Just what is your definition of "is" ?

jk lol

neddy65 08-19-2003 04:05 PM

Holy Sweet Fuck... under 18 don't post.......no fucking what-ifs allowed !!
If you really want to piis people off (read Mods) then keep up this "what about....." shit!!!

No offence, but your argument is not quantifiable nor is it sustainable. Once it is I will recognise it as valid. I personally do not want U18's interfering with my enjoyment of a public space, and if you think I'm wrong please join me at Tiger Tiger.

Otherwise please continue to enjoy the freedom this forum enjoys, but do not spoil it for the rest of us by ranting about "U18's don't post" shit.

analog 08-20-2003 11:39 PM

jesus, people, stop asking questions!!!! just fucking accept that you can't post pictures of ANYONE UNDER 18! INFANTS are YOUNGER than 18. So are toddlers, 3rd-graders, and anyone born between now and 18 years ago. It's simple math. Don't push the mods and admins, they have MORE than enough else to do. Why the fuck is it so important for you to know exactly what KIND of kids you can post? You shouldn't be doing that ANYWAY.

I love mods! :)

Masterbate. Donate. Repeat.

perhaps i was misunderstood. I did not mean people under 18 should not post but that pictures of people under the age of 18 should not be posted, nor should there be this much discussion concerning " what if" situations. The pushing of the stated bounderies was pissing me off.

m0rpheus 08-22-2003 12:47 AM

You know sometimes it astounds me. I though the whole no posting of any of someone under 18 pics was pretty clear. Why are people having such a hard time understanding?

grumpyolddude 08-22-2003 08:59 PM

$0.02

Sorry, I was feeling left out.

JBX 08-23-2003 09:54 PM

How about if their 17 when you snap the picture and superman flies around the earth 1000 times making them 18, then is it okay, huh, huh, huh?

Maybe their IQ's haven't caught up with their age?

Anyway, NO. If they were 17 when the picture was taken, then the picture is of a 17 year old no matter what their age is now. It's not allowed.

Guys, let the blood flow back to the head on your shoulders and you might understand the simple instructions you've been given.

Esen 08-24-2003 05:50 PM

I just want to say thank you very much,
This was the only thing that bothered me about the community, the possibility of under age photos.
I hate them and I am glad that you are making a stand against them.

I ve always been afraid to open a post and see a minor picture.
I have a family and that kind of pics really makes me sad.
So i back you 100% in saying no to to under age pics.
THANK YOU.

pqaTim 08-26-2003 04:05 AM

Are we still discussing this? JadziaDax's original post was on 8/4. I see that on 8/24 someone was still clarifying the meaning of the post. Move on people, there's nothing more to see here. ;)

thenewguy 08-26-2003 07:54 PM

Thanks Officer Barbrady...

The Geek 08-28-2003 08:41 PM

I knew a guy named Dax once. It was before DS9 existed.

hotzot 08-31-2003 06:51 PM

Did JadziaDax reveal all? I hate reading long posts.

QuasiMojo 09-01-2003 05:13 PM

Hey Chauncey

We'll be keeping an eye out for ya[

luvsredbeaver 09-04-2003 11:42 AM

Hey JD, I got the jist of your message with your very first post. Not a problem for me...

And also, midgets scare me.

stldickie 09-11-2003 02:04 PM

Good rule, please enforce it with no exceptions!!!!!!!!!

ismark 09-12-2003 03:39 PM

unbelievable, so much argument about the simple word no....

get real

QuasiMojo 09-12-2003 05:48 PM

Hey Jadz...

when I need to...
what do I do.......

:)
(apologies to RedRavin)

inkriminator 09-13-2003 01:23 AM

i just read this thread, and yeah, people were asking questions after it had been clarified, but everyone was doing it in a respectful and often light-hearted way, there's no need to treat it harshly, respect to what others enjoy has always been a staple of the TFP, no? and it's not like those people were actually posting kiddie pics...

JadziaDax 09-20-2003 05:53 AM

Actually, some of them were. People who have read this thread have still posted kid pics.

People just don't get it.

NO means NO.

chubber 10-06-2003 07:41 AM

Quite right too

tekaweni 10-06-2003 10:16 AM

JADZIADAX REVEALS ALL... LOOK HERE NOW!!!!!!

Ohhhhhhh mean. Mean but effective....

blindboy 10-09-2003 07:02 PM

Wow, I go to work everyday to listen to people ask stupid questions to see if they can defy any policy that they don't feel comfortable with. There is a really disturbing undercurrent to this entire discussion and it relates to the idea of certain members being threatened by the idea of not being able to post photos of people under the age of 18. I think that as a tool tfp can be worthwhile and continue to be a venue for freedom of expression and thought while living with this rule, understanding this rule and loving this rule.

GuttersnipeXL 10-09-2003 07:32 PM

Pull my finger

mb99usa 10-15-2003 08:06 AM

Works for me. Some of that stuff can border on if not be outright illegal. Better to keep the TFP adult oriented than shutdown by the authorities.

Comeon Jadzia, I've been good. There has been no posting of children by me... Come on, Please, REVEAL SOMETHING.

CSflim 11-08-2003 04:07 PM

...no pics of anyone under 18....

...no pics of anyone under 18....

...no pics of anyone under 18....

Nope its just too complex for me to understand. I'll have to keep studying it for longer.

SofaKing 11-16-2003 09:18 PM

I got suckered in, false advertising :b But seriously, exploitation of children is disghusting.

JadziaDax 12-03-2003 04:54 AM

Well, obviously not enough people understand the concept of "NO PICTURES OF ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18" since I removed 4 pictures so far of obvious children.

What is so hard to understand?

flamingdog 12-09-2003 04:14 PM

I just have to say, is there any particular need to lay it out for us as if we were children? Why can't we question the rules? This is a discussion forum, right?

Personally, this rule doesn't affect me either way, since I can't think of any possible reason I would ever post a picture of a kid, but I don't see any reason to address people as if they were five.

saltfish 12-18-2003 09:41 PM

As far as I know, it is illegal to post the pictures of anyone under the age of 18, without that person's parent's consent. ...thus, to remove any liability at all for the staff here, it is better to keep the pictures there.

Such is the same with copyrights, keeping a paper trail of permissions and such can be expensive and consuming.

Obviously there was a problem at some point in wich someone got pissed b/c they had a picture that they didn't know existed/didn't want published. ...a majority of rules/regulations/policies are based upon problems/situations that needed response.

Though, to avoid any confusion on the matter, and to help discontinue rumors and such, it would be beneficial for the mods to give an explination that may help us understand why such a policy was put in place. This may help us gain a greater understanding of how the world works using real-life situations.

silent_jay 12-18-2003 09:48 PM

thank you for making this obvious to the people out there with the IQ of a bag of hammers. Good rule (just wanted to put in my 2 cents

OracleEyes 02-03-2004 06:09 AM

As the debate goes on, many people are still outraged that pictures of those under 18 are being posted, and the same time, many new people are being brought into the thread becuase of the heading of the thread. Obvious solutions.... no one knows, but as we stand here, we can hear chants from the crowd saying, "Leave out the kids, just give us Dax" How long will this continue? Check back to find out. Your friendly neighborhood reporter, signing off......

calliman 02-22-2004 06:26 PM

there is obviousley apoint to all this debate over a simple RULE :-NO PICTURES OF CHILDREN UNDER 18 and that is that some people are just too FUCKING dumb to follow it without being told !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hanabal 03-08-2004 01:50 AM

im cool with the rule, i will follow it to the letter, in fact, i almost believe that a rule like it needs to be there, i just want to hear it from the mods on why the rule is like it is.

I spose im opsesive compulsive and i like the expanation of everything i see.
