NOVEL REFLECTIONS ON THE AMERICAN DREAM explores the characters, plots, and themes of seven novels that deal with wealth, poverty, and the nature of success and failure in America. In an exploration that moves from the turn of the 20th century into progressively more contemporary surroundings, passages from each book are dramatized through haunting still photography that is inventively animated and coupled with original and archival footage. |

I've just realized I have three dedicated (maybe four) & separate classified notes that pertain to what I'm trying to curate here (I think).
Different, yet all-encompassing, relative to my personal inclinations. Let's take a quick of examination of what is within the 1st instance of crystal shards. 1. http://26.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lg...lxyco1_500.jpg source unknown (I believe I originally featured this in my Masks theme of intention.) + 2. http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l3...m1pso1_500.jpg sprouting mind matter (you can, in a way, state that this relates to NOVEL REALIZATIONS.) + bonus (3, random) http://30.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l5...6f9yo1_500.jpg Shallow |

I wasn't sure where, exactly, I could feature this home-produced music video, (my "acoustics are awesome" theme is not yet open for busyness) so I suppose here, where no one dares venture into, is as good a spot as any for it to languish in the repositories of my broken re-collected memories. (aside: why do all my thoughtforms eventually turn so desperately sad? I've got to work on being cheerful.)

I dare venture here,
& on any given day. I trust you know why. The music & the pictures, & your willingness to share, though that's redundant. Speaking of which, I put that most recent music on "my" facebook...& not exactly. |
Can't believe I allowed this to lapse from my memory, if even for a day
THE CHARACTER, by Candice Breitz [2011] ... Interview Location: Gundecha Education Academy, Kandivali East, Mumbai.
Commissioned by European Media Art Festival Osnabrück (EMAF) with the support of The Culture Programme 2007-2013 of the European Union In the context of exhibitions click to show [vvork. / vimeo.] -- (to note: The character is me. The character may by you. I also am sharing this about two weeks later than I originally intended.) |
"Each one of us is alone in the world. He is shut in a tower of brass, and can communicate with his fellows only by signs, and the signs have no common value, so that their sense is vague and uncertain. We seek pitifully to convey to others the treasures of our heart, but they have not the power to accept them, and so we go lonely, side by side but not together, unable to know our fellows and unknown by them. We are like people living in a country whose language they know so little that, with all manner of beautiful and profound things to say, they are condemned to the banalities of the conversation manual. Their brain is seething with ideas, and they can only tell you that the umbrella of the gardener’s aunt is in the house."

illustrated by ~daemontreu (Australia) author's comments: (Melissa Graf) Based on a dream I had, the other day. "I was standing at the edge of a giant body of water, that stretched so far that I could not tell where the water ended and the sky began. The lily pads on the water looked like they were made of silver; matte, not shiny. To my right there was a distant and deep rumbling, like a waterfall, though nowhere in sight was there falling water of any kind. To my left there was silence. |

{#9} “You, Darkness”
You, darkness, that I come from
I love you more than all the fires that fence in the world, for the fire makes a circle of light for everyone and then no one outside learns of you. But the darkness pulls in everything— shapes and fires, animals and myself, how easily it gathers them!— powers and people— and it is possible a great presence is moving near me. I have faith in nights. — Rainer Maria Rilke |

^that was invigorating! I wish I had something as nice to give you back, but I don't know what you like, yet. In the meantime:

Maybe by "nothing",
he dismissed his depression as a worthless thing, but he left his mark, providing encouragement, to those who feel it? |
