Thanks for making this thread. I don't when it occurred, but umbrellas truly fascinate me (in theory only, though; in reality, I've never had a really good functioning one. It's perhaps more to do that I lived in monsoon main square when I younger).

In theory, I like umbrellas. In practice, though, I haven't owned one since I was 8 or so. Yes, I'm one of those silly people you see walking in the rain.

I'm more than happy to grab one for the beach, though, to get a break from the sun.

If anyone thought my above portrayal was too girly or fruity (I just recalled visions of that film "Bridcage", with that guy from "Mouse Hunt" and the other guy who dressed as a British woman.) this will perhaps better suit your manly needs (though it is somewhat oxymoronic that such a title be attrbuted to an umbrella.)

Thank you Jetee. I find most of the photos I post on tumblrs, where they're anonymous. It's good to give credit where credit is due.

Really? I've been using tumblr since Nov. of '08, and while I've stepped up my usage from monthly back then, to now almost a daily check-in today, I follow close to three dozen separate blogs at the moment, and I'd say three-quarters of them usually attribute an author, photographer, or outside web source pointing to the direction of the creators.

The only exception is the fine nude portrayals, which I usually have to find the authors to whichever images, myself. Maybe you are following the wrong type of crowd, seamaiden, because I certainly always like having to refer someone to the origin of such-andsuch work if I can, and half of the time, I don't need to do any research to do so, as the name is usually right below the image.
