Three flatmates. . . . . .
Three flatmates are walking along the road and see a TV in a second-hand shop for $30. The decide to buy it for their flat and pay $10 each.
5 minutes after they have left the shop the manager of the shop says to the shop assistant "that TV should only have been $25! not $30 . . run after them and give them this $5 back". The shop assistant runs after the 3 flatmates. He cant split the $5 into three so he decides to give the three flatmates $1 each and keep $2 in his pocket. Having originally paid $10 each, the three flatmates have received $1 back and so therefore have each paid $9. Now 3 x 9 = $27 . . . . . . . . . . plus the $2 which the shop assistant has kept in his pocket = $29!!!!!!!! What a mystery! |
lol You aren't supposed to add back the $2 in the assistants pocket he took kept that from the guys, You add back the 3 the guys got back. Yes the guys did pay $27. The shop owner actually paid the assistant $2 in essense to take the $3 back to the men. Subtract the $2 that the assistant kept and you get $25 What the shop owner recieved. Good one. Had me puzzled for a minute.
