i am a piece of land on the earth's surface...
Quote:

(well, i am; but not for the purposes of this little exercise...) |
The North Pole?
unc,
since it was Veteran's Day until a couple minutes ago...are you at Arlington Cemetery? btw, thanks to all the Veteran's for your service to our country |
Are you sofa? Has that been confirmed?
nope, nope, nope...
The North American continent? Big honkin piece of land...
nope...
are you on an island?
nope...
Are you a natural piece of land?
South America?
in Europe?
amy - yes
tully - no nick - yes |
Swiss Alps?
no; western hemisphere (west of the greenwich line)...
in France where the ladies have hot pance? ....or even if they don't are you in France?
no, frenchy...
el Espanol?
no espanol...
Are you wearing a Kilt?
Portugal?
no kilt, no portageese...
I assume it can't be anywhere in Great Britain since you said not an island.
are you in Gibraltar? |
North Africa?
Tul, in post 8415 and 8416 I think we got narrowed it down to Europe. I "think" we already mentioned all countries in Europe that are in the WH...so that's why I said Gibraltar since it's a "British Overseas Territory" whatever that imperialistic mumbo jumbo means.

Bad Nick.. did your plane land or are you still stranded at the airport? You know they say the best ones leaving you hanging...
now that I check, I am sort of hanging.
amonkie...would you be so kind as to get me off the hanging hook, so to speak, by taking my turn this time? I figure you're new in our game, I would like to give you a shot at being "it", and I can't think of anyplace yet!!! If you decline, no problem...I'll think of someplace quite soon. |
I can take you off the hook... I can see for miles around.
are you high? ...like up on a mountain?
ps: thank you, and good luck |
high yes... mountain no. But, I can see crystal clear.
(You're welcome!) |
are you in a tall man made structure? ...if you look up and see Superman, you might be. <<< by "man made" I mean the universal "man" which of course also includes all the fantastic women builders and architects of the world.
Tall is relative, but Man made = yes
commentary not really part of clue - You get desensitized to buildings after looking at the Sears Tower every day. And no.. It's not what Willis was talking about. |
is this man made relatively tall object in u sofa?
that statue of paul bunyan in minnetonka?
Bad Nick - no sofa
phil - nope |
in the EH?
Yes
in Europe?
Yup.
Damn... that reminds me, I should have had waffles instead of pancakes for breakfast. All the little holes for the butter to go into! |
in a landlocked country?
in a country touching the Baltic Sea?
not landlocked and not touching the baltic.
My breakfast was a clue... |
well if you're like me, you give the waffles to the kids and have a fine Belgian beer for breakfast so I'll gues you're inside the Atomium in Brussels ...actually when I was in there I did have a few brewskis before my tour on one of those open double decker buses...I only had a few hours to see Brussels so I figured that was a good way to see the highlights, like the Atomium
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...m-brussels.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...0I/Atomium.jpg |
ok, so you're in belgium?
unc, what about France? We didn't eliminate France, did we? She might be up on the Eiffel Tower.
You're correct Badnick - The clue was actually in my very first post, lol.
The Atomium is the iron crystal (can see crystal clear), magnified 165 billion times. I had a few beers there myself! |
Here I thought my Atomium pictures might be for naught. That's a cool structure and from my one day stay there I think Bussels is a great town. I'll be travelling there again on business in a few months.
OK, where in the world am I? |
a coal mine up in mahanoy city?
does the coal miner's daughter still live there?
In any case, not in a coal mine or mahanoy city. |
eh?
yep
mh?
yep
your rope?
yes, I'm doin' the rope-a-dope again.
are you aropin with oodles of noodles?
landlocked country?
I'm not in a landlocked country, and not in the land of spaghettiO's, oh oh...or even other noodles. Hey, noodle is one of our illustrious TFP members, is that who you mean? While I'm sure most places have some noodles around, this country is not particularly known for noodles.
mediterranean?
not on the meds...though I do have this pain < that's not a clue, I'm just saying
baltic...
(as we slide around the monopoly board...) |
yes, the country does touch the Baltic Sea
(since I like geography and learning about new places, I like this game...I hope you guys do, too; though it does not seem to be the most popular game on TFP for some reason) |
scandanavian?
What about Meatballs?
Estonia?
not scandinavian...so no meatballs ...which reminds me: you get no bread with one meatball < that's not a clue, I was just reminded of that song
Not Estonia, either...but you're getting closer |
Poland? Now I'm hungry for some polish sausage... they are just a mite hairy sometimes.
lithuania?
Latvia?
none of those....go a little more to your left, and then look up
amonkie, thanks for reminding me. I just called my mom to hook me up with some more kielbasi since the best place in Philly for that is near her house, since that's a predominantly Polish neighborhood...hmmm, I'll call back and order some homemade pierogies, too. |
isn't denmark part of scandanavia?
yes, which is why i'm not there.
But now that you mention it, I guess when I said "a little more to your left" I was either standing on the North Pole and looking south, or I may have been referring to politics. |
allemagne?
nope...head more east where they think left
Are you on an island?
not mother russia...
Tul, not on an island
unc, yep, right in the big mamma |
You in the Red Square in Moscow?
ukraine?
not in the Rouge Square but monkey girl is closest...I am in Moscow so find this large building I'm in
Triumph Palace?
st basil's cathedral?
amonkie, right idea...go up another 81 feet or so and you'll find me
unc, not this time. But I think we were already there a while back. |
City of Capitals isn't complete yet, but at 948 ft(I believe), so its either that or Naberezhnaya Tower (881 feet, but only 14 feet taller than the Triumph at 867 ft).
unc, that tower is cool and I'm going to check it out further...but I'm not there.
However, amonkie has found me ...I am found, I am found! << kinda like being saved, but even better. amonkie, while it isn't complete yet, I believe it is already considered the highest skyscraper in Europe, at the 948' you mentioned, since it is already "topped out". From several sources I found that they have this criteria in common: ...includes spires and architectural details but does not include antenna masts. Existing structures are included for ranking purposes based on present height. This list includes under construction buildings that have already been topped out... http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...tals_Tower.jpg You're up, monkie. Go hide |
Ok. I'm hidden.
Polo! |
are you in China?
No.. I am not in the middle kingdom.
I'm lounging on the sofa so you might be doing that somewhere, too? usofa?
Nope.. not in this case. And its a little unsteady for a sofa where I am.
how about Asia?
Nope... No Peking duck in my lunchbox today...
