|
my management can beat your management two out of three in thumb wrestling...
|
unc, are you in Colorado Springs? Very soon I hope to accept your thumb wrestling challenge...my secret weapon: ambidexterity. I can hold my beer mug with either hand thereby optimizing my thumb power!
|
i am in colorado springs...
|
unc, here's one for thumb wrestling  ...and another
might you be at the U.S. Airforce Academy? |
nope, too far north...
i am within the confines of the city... /threadjack/ auntphil and i might be coming down to armbreath or wherever you and her cousin live this fall...my nephew rows for drexel and he might have some kind of regatta coming up in september... |
are you at Knob Hill? ...famous as the location of Nikola Tesla's laboratory
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...a_colorado.jpg At this location, in 1899, Tesla, several of his assistants, and a local contractor commenced the construction of Tesla's laboratory shortly after arriving in Colorado Springs. The lab's primary purpose was to conduct experiments with high frequency electricity and other phenomena. Its secondary purpose was for research into wireless transmission of electrical power. The lab possessed the largest Tesla Coil ever built, fifty-two feet (16 m) in diameter, which was a preliminary version of the Magnifying Transmitter. This coil reproduced the effects of lightning and its accompanying thunder for the first time in history. On January 7, 1900, Tesla's lab here was torn down, broken up, and its contents sold to pay debts when Tesla left Colorado Springs. ps: we should hook up when you come here to see the rowing...it'll be on the Schuykill River about 10 min. from my abode. Have you ever been to the Eulogy Belgian Tavern? ...or plenty of other nice places. We also have a few good steak houses if your highly carnivorous...I'll buy yous a good steak http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...giantavern.jpg |
i'll take you up on that if the opportunity arises...
not at tesla's place, though my high school physics teacher would cream his drawers seeing that stuff... |
are you at the HQ of the Oracle Corp.?
|
nope...
|
I'm leaving my office now to go give a highly informative seminar to a bunch of engineers and won't be back here until dinner time....but I'm thinkin' about where you might be, unc.
|
does where you are have anything to do with sports?
|
it do...
|
Might you be at Security Service Field, formerly known as Sky Sox Stadium?
SSF is a professional baseball stadium on the eastern edge of Colorado Springs. The stadium is the home of the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, the AAA-level affiliate of the Colorado Rockies Major League Baseball team. |
southwest of there...
|
I'm looking for more sports related places....are you at a golf course?
|
nope...
|
Last night I went into my adobe hut and sought to find the true way by getting back in touch with my inner shaman, seeking assistance from mind altering methods and consulting my good Yaqui friend Don Juan Matus...or it might have been some other crazy Mexican friend of Tully.
In any case, this led me to the revelation you are either in a sports bar drinking your ass off, or maybe at the Colorado Springs National Olympic Training Center. So I'll go against my instincts and guess the training center. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...03/olympic.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...sc%203/OTC.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ympiansUSA.jpg ps: I also wish to thank the way of the Yaqui Indians for inspiring me to have this for lunch today, from a local little Mexican taco joint, seemed very fresh and authentic,, it recently opened near where I exist: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...tacojoint2.jpg |
attn: Mr. TFP Authority!!!...or Mrs., or Ms., or Miss as said authority may prefer. I know I do.
Halx, in case unc was captured by a bunch of pirates and never shows up again, may I please have another turn or is that against the rules? |
Uncle Phil would never allow himself or his men (or Aunt P.) to be captured. Go down with his ship or make those left wish they had... them that died would be the lucky I'd say.
But since it's just the few of us and the Olympic site was kinda my idea... take another crack I say. |
eye eye, matey....in case Tul's suggestion above is not correct,
unc, are you at the ProRodeo Hall of Fame? |

Once you find the general locale, I'm in a significant structure that I'd like you to identify. It's in that "superlative" category compared to others of similar ilk. |

From now on, ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I will not put.- Sir Winston Churchill
Looking for a building? |
the goldman sachs tower in jersey city?
|
not a building or tower. Maybe find the place I am and that will lead to a more obvious conclusion about the structure on which I am... <<< thanks, Sir Winston.

Kingda Ka Roller Coaster at Six Flags in Jackson?
|
not abridged...but unc! yes, you found me already...good guess, you're up
Kingda Ka is the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world. Kingda Ka - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...I/KK-main1.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...I/KingdaKa.jpg Cresting the 456-foot tall tower's apex the train begins its vertical descent that includes a 270-degree spiral twist. While descending the train will accelerate again to speeds of more than 100 mph! http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2..._kingda_05.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...0TzIo5_400.jpg ...and if you prefer wooden roller coasters, from the top of Kingda Ka you have a good view of El Toro, still one of the steepest, tallest, and fastest wooden roller coasters in the world. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...e66356c6c9.jpg The Skyline at Six Flags in New Jersey, from left to right: Kingda Ka, El Toro, Bizarro, Rolling Thunder ,Great American Scream Machine, Superman: Ultimate Flight, the now defunct Batman & Robin: The Chiller and Stuntman's freefall, and operating Nitro. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...agsSkyline.jpg |
