Are you on Nomans Land? ...and if you are, careful you don't blow yourself up!
Nomans Land (also mapped as "No Man's Land" or "No Mans Land" or "No Man's island") is an uninhabited island 612 acres in size, located in the town of Chilmark, Dukes County, Massachusetts, USA. It is situated about three miles (5 km) off the southwest corner of the island of Martha's Vineyard. The island likely has unexploded ordnance dating from its role as a practice bombing range from 1943-1996. Consequently, the island is closed to the public. |

(all that may remain after this is Washington and Hawaii.) |
#6530 and #6533 rule out Hawaii.
When did we rule out California? But I am in fact on an island in Oregon. |

Well, as I'm trying out in another thread, I will try an alphabet-oriented guess: Are you on an island named in between A-M? (e.g. Black Rock, Grassy Island, Mack Arch) (Oh, man I just realized there's over 300 islands associated with Oregon)... |
...Jantzen Island in Lake Oswego?
It's for sale, btw, in case you have 20 million burning a hole in your pocket. The agent's write-up provides the facts. Asking price, $19.5 million, the most expensive residential property in Oregon. Living space, 13,500 square feet, split between a guest house and the original English Tudor home built in 1929 for Carl Jantzen, a founder of Jantzen Knitting Mills. Bedrooms: five. Bathrooms: six. Fireplaces: three. Roof: slate. Patio, pool, sauna, shop, boathouse: built like a castle. Terraces, waterfalls, a rose garden, nearly one mile of walking trails. And a gated, stone bridge that trolls could easily inhabit. "You can just smell the history in that boathouse," said real-estate broker Justin Harnish, "There's an old stone bench where you can sit and look straight down the lake and see Mount Hood." |

From my other post- Quote:
And no- not between A-M And no not Jantzen Island in Lake Oswego. I have water skied near Jantzen Island. The island I'm on I've camped on several times. |
Do you not like either/or questions? Was I reprimanded before for a question along the lines of this one:
Are you on an island in either Curry or Caltsop County? |
I don't mind this question. If it can be answered yes or no it's fine by me.
It's no by the way, not in those counties. |
Last one for tonight: are you in Multnomah county?
|
No I'm not.
|
...is there a park there with a campground?
|
Yes, there is a campground. For the record there wasn't one there last time I camped there. That was one of the appeals of the place to me.
|
Are you at Collins Beach on Sauvie Island? ...and if so, nude or clothed?
|
...the excitement level of this game was just kicked up a notch :oogle:
|

No, but I have been there several times. And yes, when in Rome... Plus when I was working on my pilots license I was flying out of Kelso Wa. often we'd do a low fly by at that beach. Go South Nick and head for the hills. As the t-shirt on one lady off the cruise ship said yesterday day "If you like my mountains you'll love my busch" |
|
...that looks like a winner to me, nick....wtg n advance!

You didn't mention the name but it's on the sign in the pic you posted. So yer up! |
...great location there tully...good job! I use to love to camp until i
went with the 4th grade boyscout troop...never got any sleep! ...but my favorite camping trip was trout fishing by a lake in the Grand Tetons years ago. Watched the muscrat swimming in the still wee hours of the morning when the lake was like glass. So serene. |
hey nick, you anywhere near the delaware water gap?
|
Tul, I wasn't exactly sure what part of Detroit Lake State Park you might be in. I was going to mention the island shown in the pic...is that Piety Island?...but other than that sign I couldn't find anything more about it.

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...TonysPlace.jpg PS: so where am I? |
A little side trip report: I had lunch today at Tony's and fell in love with Stephani who is a relatively new waitress, age appropriate I might add. Her name is actually Stephanie but the "e" drops out of my awareness of her existence and also from her name as printed on the check due to some ancient geophysical limitation of DOS only being able to handle 8 character file names. I had a couple of Rogue Red Ales (thank you, Oregon) with my grouper sandwich.
OK, where the hell am I? Since Stephani lost her "e" I'll say I'm in the EH |
Was she blonde?
---------- Post added at 02:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:58 PM ---------- And did you circumvent the automerging as well? This thread is weird in that way. |
no, she's very non-blonde. Hey, I have to relisten to those 4 Non Blondes on my way home!
and apparently. Jetée, perhaps the automerge function is sometimes, though not always, verklempt |
I'm glad to hear you found your love, BadNick, and I hope to find my love Stephanie this coming fall.
South Asia? (I always forget which way is east) |
Quote:
...NH? |
I bet Shell with an "e" is better than some smell-e old Stephani without an "e" any day.
Not Asia. Yes NH. |
Quote:
So US? |
nope, not U.S. this time
|
...middle east?
...oh, and i saw that ;) |
no, not middle east but that's getting closer. I'm in NH/EH.
Just looking for the city this time, no particular building or nude beach. |
Europe
|
yes, Europe

...okay...here's my guess: ...Füssen, a picturesque town at the foot of the Bavarian Alps that conjures images of a fairytale kingdom with its beautiful castles, medieval town centre and azure lakes. Perhaps at the Neuschwanstein Castle, the dream residence of the ‘Fairy-Tale King,’ King Ludwig II. Ludwig who was a hopeless romantic...his iconic castle served as the inspiration for the Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland. Just a beautiful Bavarian town. |
Romania?
|
I'm not there but hey, can I change my mind and be at the Neuschwanstein Castle? ...sounds like a beautiful romantic place:
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ein_castle.jpg See that little semi-circular area on the "back porch" on the right? That reminds me of a castle in Austria that my parents used to take me to when I was a baby boy. I was born in Braunau Austria near Salzburg and that's where the castle is. I remember a semi-circular pool on one terrace with a scary gargoyle face spouting water from its mouth into the pool and I was afraid to look at it and would hide behind my mother's dress. Tul, not Romania either/again...but I can almost hear my relatives saying "The blood is the life" |
...what a beautiful photo. Sounds like you lived a charmed life.
...are you touching the mediterranean? |
yes, on the meds
|
...an island?
|
I knew you were on something.
Italy? |
not an island and not Italy
|
...france?
|
Is Greece the word this time?
|
Balkan country?
|
not france not Greece
yes, I'm in the Balkans |
...Yugoslavia?
|
psst... say "Albania"
|
:expressionless:...why are we whispering? YOU say Albania :) I think it's a country that touches Hungary because he was born there
` |
ssshhhh....i'm being quiet since tomorrow is father's day
Jet, not Albania. Shell, "Yugoslavia" would be correct if there was still such a country, but there is no longer a Yugoslavia. This ref is a correct description of the status of all the republics that used to be Yugoslavia prior to June 2006 Yugoslavia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia So I am in a really cool city that is in one of the former Yugoslav republics. |

Kosovo?
|
not Serbia and not Kosovo
thanks, Shell. I'm having a nice, relaxed Father's Day. If the rain holds off, later I'll go for a spirited drive up and down my favorite local winding road to pump up my adrenaline again. For presents, so far I got some bundles of love, a couple cool shirts, and Octane magazine for which I will have to learn "english" again. Don't let your bonnet slam on your fingers and watch those bodies in your boot. |
Montenegro?
Bodies in boots? Dare I ask? |
not Montenegro, Tul. Hey, Happy Father's Day since I know you're a great dad, too.
I was alluding to bodies in car trunks, but the British "english" calls the car trunk a boot. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2.../59caddy-1.jpg |
