i would be in the lone star long-neck state...
|
are you south of Dallas/Ft. Worth? ...I'm hunting a "long neck" connection this moment.
|
nope...
|
Nothing yet, I'm still searching...I keep coming up with great "long neck" related ideas, and very great ideas they are...but then it turns out they are south of Dallas/Ft. Worth :(
For example, I thought you might be feeding long neck beers to Clay Henry III, the famous beer drinking goat of Lajitas Texas Clay Henry III, Beer-Drinking Goat, Lajitas, Texas but he's too far south http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...%20I/TXLAJ.jpg Then I thought you might have been inspired by that recent great thread "Omg!! My Dad Is A Llama" so I checked out Qualtity Central Texas Alpacas from Long Neck Acres and found out that they sell and service alpacas Long Neck Acres is located in the beautiful Central Texas Hill Country and is home to over 200 Quality Alpacas. We specialize in providing you with superior Alpacas at reasonable prices. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...p8bognor-1.jpghttp://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...NA_TopGun1.jpg Whether you elect to purchase your Alpacas and bring them home to your own ranch, or invest in Alpacas and leave them in our care, we promise to treat your Alpacas as if they were our own. Then thinking you might be a longstem rose, I looked up where The Yellow Rose of Texas came from, but she was from the south end near Mexico. So far I have no clue but I'll keep searching. |
the long neck reference was just to the container of the beer, not the whereabouts of said beer...
sorry to side-track you... it is safe to say that an awful lot of beer is drunk here, especially around the 15th and the eom... |
I think this might be where Tul jumps in an guesses where you are after I did all the grunt work? ...I'm off to research your latest clues.
|
OOPS, I just realized St. Paddy's Day is on the 17th not 15th :(
The "15th" clue made me think you might be in Dublin TX but that's south of DFW, so then I thought maybe Arlington TX at North Texas Deaf Senior Citizens’ St. Patrick’s Day Party | Deaf Network of Texas ...but I'm not going for the deaf connection yet...so are you in Shamrock TX at the Shamrock St. Patrick's Day Festival? Shamrock Texas St. Patrick's Day Festival |
nope...
|
Are you at the Rahr Brewery in Ft. Worth? ...home of Pecker Wrecker Imperial Pilsner?
|
nope...
|
Does it start with a "C"?
|
are you west of Abilene?
|
shell - no...
nick - no... it's not a brewery... |
Midland Texas...home of the Texas Jazz Party on the 15th?
|
nope...
|
Would it be a town that holds an annual Beer Fest like New Braunfels...home to Wurstfest?
|
are you holding stead at this year's site for Wrestlemania, i.e., Houston, TX?
|
shell - no
jet - no |
is where you are related to Harley motorcycles?
|
nope...
|
You're east of Abilene you said. Are you south of Austin?

R U at Sheppard Air Force Base near Wichita Falls, TX?
|
yup...
Sheppard Air Force Base - Home your go, nick... i'll be traveling north for the next few days; i'll be back probably sunday afternoon... |
whew! after that i need a few minutes to regain my composure. << hey, do you think I ever had any composure?
unc, if going north you're within carrier pigeon range of me, have that bird drop something on my head so I know it's from you. ...I'll search for a new place and post back shortly. |
Good job Nick :thumbsup::thumbsup:
|
Thanks, Shell. Hey, how come you only have that black beard on one side of your face?...not that there's anything wrong with half-a-beard!
OK folks, where in the world am I this time? |
Eat your heart out, BadNick, you know you wish you had one just like it.
Okay, North America? |
WH?

I have never grown a beard in my whole life ...yet...other than a few days of no shaving. But if I ever decide to try pirating, I think I would do it. Btw, the eyes of your avatar lady are eerily beautiful and follow me around everywhere I go :oogle: ps: is that Grace Kelly? or who? Yes NA..so obviously also yes to unc's WH...except for those Alaskan islands that Tully refuses to admit are in the eastern hemisphere and I'm not at those islands this time. |
My avatar is the legendary Audrey Hepburn who was just as beautiful and graceful on the inside. When giving beauty tips she said, "For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others."
Are you on an island such as Catalina? |
I'm not sure if it's "such as Catalina", but I am on an island.....or now in this thread should I say eyeland? Damn, I can't believe I confused Audrey for Grace!
|
...if you were on Catalina Island you would know it so it can't be that
...is your island close enough to the mainland that it's accessible by a bridge or ferry? |
Actually I have been on Catalina and it is gorgeous, so I'm sure I'm not there now.
Yes where I am is accessible by bridge or ferry and you can see the mainland even without binoculars. |
(oops, sorry, i think I misunderstood what you meant about Catalina :o )
...so, east coast? |
you're getting hotter ...yes
|
...mid-atlantic?
|
not mid-atlantic...I'm a lot closer to shore
^^ ok, bad attempt at humor. I'm not in one of the mid-atlantic states. |
...i thought you were serious (yes, i'm gullible but i'm starting to "get you")...good thing you added that "disclaimer"
...new england? |
Are there bridges that connect the island to the mainland?
|
yes new england
no bridges to mainland ps: after you find the island, I would like you to find the location. This location has some infamous historical significance. |
....Martha's Vineyard?
|
yes...now can you find the location where I am?
|
...Aquinnauh Lighthouse and Cliffs? (i'm guessing as it's steeped in history)
|
I'm venturing the guess of ghosthouses, and Rhode Island to arrive at:
Block Island - The Palatine Light |
Not Aquinnauh Lighthouse and Cliffs...aka Gay Head Light. Now that I'm here again it reminds me of all the summers I spent on Martha's Vineyard in a cool little "camp" on Lake Tashmoo. I can go back again...maybe this summer.
Jet, as mentioned above I'm on Martha's Vineyard, not Block Island R.I. Here's another clue: to get to where I am, I have to take a another ferry. |
|
unc swoops in after all the grunt work is done and takes the win!
GO phil, you're up. |
hey nick, thought of a joke for you while i was on the road this past weekend...
http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/tilted-...has-knack.html meanwhile, i'll get back later after i scout out a few locations... |
Thanks for thinking of me, phil. It was a great story that I was intensely relating to the whole time except for the tragic ending :(
PS: since we're on a Kennedy theme, I just saw this so here's proof that there can be nonsense in the news: Kennedy: Claim in new book is 'absolute nonsense' | Comcast.net |
