Does where you are have the word "Woods" in it? I'm seeing World Woods Golf Club, Southern Woods Golf Club, Sugarmill Woods Country Club. And a funny sounding place that doesn't seem associated with golf is "Chassahowitzka" ...I might name my next daughter Chassahowitzka. |
hey, you found me...
i've played both the pine barrens course and the rolling oaks course within the past two years; beautiful layouts... Florida Golf Tee Times | Florida Golf Resorts – World Woods Golf Club you're up, nick... |

harlow?

No, but thanks for the memories, unc. Many years ago that was the name of a famous Philadelphia transvestite, and (s)he was actually quiet gorgeous in her own way. She had a downtown disco/nightclub named after her...maybe she was part owner or just the mascot, I'm not sure...but I recall going in there once by myself and not knowing who (s)he was at the time, and she was hitting up on me; I couldn't oblige since I had to meet somebody soon, but I made up my mind to go back later...but then I found out who she was. Luv ya, hun.
I'm in London, but I want you to find me where I am in a famous structure. |
|
nope...but if keep an eye out for me you'll find me.
|
The London Eye? That big Ferris Wheel thingy.
|
Yes, I'm sitting at the top of the London Eye....you kept an eye out for me and found me, Tul. You're up.
With coordinates of 51° 30′ 11.88″ N, 0° 7′ 10.92″ W it is just barely in the Western Hemisphere by less than one degree longitude. London Eye - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The London Eye (also known as the Millennium Wheel) at a height of 135 metres (443 ft), is the biggest Ferris wheel in Europe, and has become the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom, visited by over 3 million people a year. At the time it was erected it was the tallest Ferris wheel in the world, until it was surpassed by the Star of Nanchang (160m) in May 2006, and then the Singapore Flyer (165m) on 11 February 2008. However, it is still described by its operators as "the world's tallest cantilevered observation wheel" (because the entire structure is supported by an A-frame on one side only). The London Eye is located at the western end of Jubilee Gardens, on the South Bank of the River Thames in London, United Kingdom, between Westminster Bridge and Hungerford Bridge. The site is adjacent to that of the former Dome of Discovery, which was built for the Festival of Britain in 1951. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...oorwarning.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...doneye1066.jpg Here's me wishing I was her hand: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...eLondonEye.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...April_2006.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...sarp750pix.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...LE_Capsule.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...Eye_aerial.jpg |
Do not lean against doors, sounds like solid advice.
I'm liking this new strategy of mine- wait for all the hard work to be done then swoop in for the kill. For the record I've been very busy of late. Been on the road for nearly two weeks and now I'm in the middle moving unexpectedly. I'm only moving a few miles but there's a lot involved due to a multitude of reasons. So with that in mind- Where am I? I will respond to questions at least twice a day, once in the AM and PM. Noon too if I get a lunch break. |

Tul, I figured you wouldn't just abandon our "where in the world" thread without a word...so I assumed you were either busy or some other personal business to deal with. I hope where you're moving is even better than where you are/were. And since we're in no hurry to become the longest thread in TFP history, we can just plod along like the proverbial turtle in the race ...persistence always pays off.
sooooo.... are you in the SH? |

Tul,
are you north of route Mex 180? |
I'm south of 180.
Interesting point though. 180 runs from Cancun to Merida and then hooks north to Progreso, which is where I live (not where I'm at BTW,) but most maps I see have the Hwy from Merida to Progreso listed as 261. The road itself has a bunch of 180 signs on it. |

Yes I am.
Rivers here are underground, lakes few and far between. Do you "See No Tay's?" Because I'm freaking famous. |
east of 295?

Are you in the Cuzamá cenotes? Hey Tul, do you ever dive in the cenotes? I've always fantasized about diving in there and finding priceless treasures that may have been jewelry worn by Mayan human sacrifices thrown into the cenotes.
This is a little donkey-drawn "train" that takes you to the Chelentun cenote at Cuzamá and then some pics I found of that place: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ama_Web_29.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2..._Cenote_57.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ama_Web_34.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ama_Web_41.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...zuma_Web_2.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...zama_Web_9.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...0I/cuzama2.jpg |

While that not where I'm at I have done the donkey train at Cuzamá several times. It's on the list of "must sees" for gringos when then have family and friends in from out of town. That rail in the picture is single. Know how they get it to be a round trip? There's two trains when they meet one driver pushes his car off the tracks then back on. |
Are you at cenote San Joaquín?

Cenote Dzitnup? ...I'm guessing based on this note I found: Cenote Dzitnup, an immense vaulted cavern in the middle of the Yucatán Peninsula, is a strange and otherworldly tourist trap
