Keep it going, you'll get there.
|
Andros Island, Congo Town?
|
This is the part of TFP where we guess the islands. so i'm not technically in the "Bahamas" although I think most people would consider it to be the Islands, or towards the Bahammas. Tully was the closest with the Dominican Republic.

Haiti? |
oh, a Caribbean island aye?
Haiti's probably right..but im going to say Jamaica. |
Quote:
|
HA, I skimmed right over that one. whoops!
|
is the primary language of this island Dutch?
|
well we're close so if we keep guessing the process of elimination will get us there
so I'll say Turks & Caicos Islands? |
tully's haiti is the closest of the recent, but i think the dominican republic is closer...:)
|
the whole island of hispaniola?
|
Hispaniola? You crazy Treasure Island reading bastard...nope...but you're close....
|

|
Puerto Rico?
|
jetee: give me a city, any city :) do i need a city? you sir have chosen the correct island ;)
|
Thank you, pig but I do not know one city in Puerto Rico. I'll guess ... still nothing. It'd be a shame if someone else swooped in with a real city in Puerto Rico, so I'll wrap this up with a quick google search and: Aguadilla
Alright, I'll give my globe a quick spin, (I need to update my version of Google Earth) stick out my finger, and point-stop on a locale. Where in the world is Jetty? |
southern hemisphere?
|
No.
|
Europe?
|
Asia?
|
Norte Americano...

Does the country border the Mediterranean?
|

|

|
Budapest
|
SSJTWIZTA: nyet.
pig: non. BadNick: no. (if I truly recall where Budapest is, then both of you are within a few borders) |
austria?
|
Prague?
|
And here we have discovered...
Prague, Czech Republic {Charles' Bridge} http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1141/...24bb43fc_b.jpg Fly Safely, Tully. :) |
Do they breath a sigh of relief where you are?
|
Quote:
Ok, where in the hell... err, world am I? |
Prague is beautiful and fun, and they have great beer.
OK ...are you in the Western Hemisphere? |
Yes, I am.
|
OK...are you in the Northern Hemisphere part of it?
|

|
No, that would be west of Columbia.
|
Brazil?
...you aren't one of those "here-to-fore-undiscovered-by-stupid-come-lately-white-people" amazon natives that were shooting arrows at the recon airplane last week, are you? |
Nope, the country I'm in is entirely within both the northern and western hemispheres.
But I like the sound of throwing arrows at tourists. |
Quote:
Oops. Guyana. |

|
I'll throw Suriname out there in case you're not following in Jim Jones' footsteps.
|
Not in South America.
|
ok... Bermuda?
|
Not an island.
|
So if it's not an island...and it's in the Northern and Western Hemispheres....and it's also not in South America or North America...Greenland? That's like a big island... heh.
I'm stumped. |
ok, northern hemi...western hemi...not north...not south...not central...not an island...i'm stymied...
|
Quote:
Let's just say I find it ironic you can't clearly see this location. |
You also said it's not Central America or S. America or U.S. or Canada or Mexico, and not an island. I think that pretty much eliminates everything I can think of.
How about under the Atlantic Ocean? |
way down...
below the ocean... where, i wanna be... the lost continent of atlantis... |

europe? |
Yep! You're on the right track Uncle Phil.
|
ahh, you confounded my normal western hemisphere perceptions.
I'll go with Portugal |
We have a winner.
I seriously figured when Brazil was eliminated and I posted "mais leste." It pretty much left one country. Then after posting I found it "ironic" that LT couldn't "clearly see this location." I thought I couldn't make it any clearer, so I posted a map. Yer up. Mr. Bad. |
OK. Where in the world am I? clue: I don't see Waldo here.
|
Quote:
Southern Hemisphere? |
no, not s.h.
|
Quote:
The Western Hemisphere? |
no, not the w.h.
|
Do you speak Japanese?
|
No I don't, but I own three Japanese cars...but what does that have to do with where I am? ;)
another clue since it relates to do with your question: while I am sure the residents there don't speak Japanese, the Japanese language has a connection to this place |
Hawaii?
Edit: Gez! now I'm doing it. Hawaii's in the WH which you stated you're not. Philippines? |
as you said, not Hawaii. Also not the Philippines.
edit: bed time for bonzo. So throw out some guesses and I'll address them in the morning, eastern time morning that is, western and northern hemisphere, in the U.S., PA, near Philadelphia. |
Korea?
|
no, not Korea. Here's another clue: not China.
I hope you worldly travellers don't loose patience, but I'll be offline until after lunchtime today ...Eastern U.S. time. |
Hmm, island?
|
not an island. Do I have to hand you this on a plate, or what?
|
Guess so, your clues are flying past me. I thought I was spoon feeding Lisbon too.
Waldo unseen. Japanese has something to do with it. North Eastern Hem. Not an Island. Shot in the dark... Myanmar (Burma) |
and the drum roll................................................not Myanmar :(
when I said "plate" that was a clue |
Well, plates can be made out of china, but you said not China. It's not an island. Thai food is popular, and it can be handed to you on a plate. So... I'll go with Thailand.
* although, I don't know how the waldo or Japanese references fit in. Except during WWII, Japan had conquered the area. |
dear Leto, your circuitous logic is interesting, but wrong. Not Thailand.
Think plates.....wet plates |
hmmm....plates... plate techtonics.... underwater earthquake zone.... ergo wet plates.... pacific rim of fire... could be any unmentioned country along that seismically active zone... Russia. I'm thinking the Kamchatka peninsula
|
mongolia...
|
Quote:
I'm stumped. |
weren't waldos a type of munition in WWII? and getting back to the Japanese, weren't they all over that area in the 1930's & '40's? conquering Korea, Manchuria, Sakhalin Islands (near Kamchatka)
aggghhh... Ok I give. |
forget about the "waldo" thing. I just threw that out there without any thought whatsoever. The plate tectonics idea is right on the money. Think about that concept in that area and you can get figure it out. Nudder clue: think plate tectonics under water...get it = wet plates.
|
guam?
|
tibet?
Not tibet. that's not underwater. Wait a minute... maybe you aren't on dryland. Maybeyou are under water. Therefore not on an island.... How about the Marianas Trench? (that would make Phil's Guam guess fairly close, except it's an island) |
Guam's an island.
Tibet, lot's of high ground pushed up by plates. What about Kathmandu? |
