Nope.. this particular mine was made famous by an event that is also currently happening at a place that smells like apples in Western New York...right next door to a sprinkles factory, no less!

Mowry? ...nevermind.
Phelps Dodge must have had other operations besides mines since I sort of recall getting steel castings from them back in the late 1970's. I've had this place in mind for my next turn ...so where in the world am I? |

It's raining so I'm planning a long walk on the beach, in the rain, soon. If I get too wet, I'll jump in the ocean and wash it off and start again. |

are you in rugby?
|
Ya got me! Rugby is sometimes considered the "geographic center of North America" and there is a monument there, see below. Balta ND might contest that since they are officially closer.
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...th_America.jpg In 1931, the town of Rugby erected a 15 feet (4.6 m) tall rock obelisk marking the "Geographical Center of North America". This was moved to a slightly different location in or after 1971. According to a listing by the U.S. Geological Survey, Rugby is actually approximately 15 miles (24 km) from the geographic center of North America [6 miles (9.7 km)] west of Balta), and even this designation carries no official status. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...th-america.jpg |

one last guess before we get some real good bbq over in West OC: Fort Motylindky, Tamanghasset, Algeria? |
just northwest of fort motylinski...
|
So I was just prowling around that area and suddenly they were staring me right in the face. Since it's so appropriate for you, I have to believe you're in Tit Algeria....actually in tit everywhere but in this case Algeria Tit. I just looked for some nice images for Algeria Tit but due to unexplainable search problems, I decided not to post them in this thread.
|
damn, nick!
how'd you find me? yes, i'm looking for the other one in: Tit, Algeria - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |
OK, give me a tit or two until I figure out where to go next.
unc, have you ever played golf while you were high? For example, this note from Colorado Travel Facts: • A golf ball flies on average ten percent farther in Colorado than other states because of the altitude. It flies even farther at higher altitudes (above 7,000 feet). |
there's a definite difference in ball-carry between here (1461 feet) and pasco county, florida, which is about 3 feet above sea level. humidity is also a factor in ball-carry...
aren't you enlightened? |
enlightened ...and lost. So find me.
|

Are you with in 200 miles of the "Wall?" Not the Pink Floyd one, the Chinese one.
|
I am not within 200 miles of the GW of C. Go north, young man, go north.
|
Genghis Khan Temple in Wulanhot City?
|
Tul, now you're really close with that guess since where I am relates to Genghis Khan, but it's not the temple.
|
You at the huge ass Genghis Khan Statue near Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia?
|
yep, you found me, Tul. I like pictures...see below.
Talk about huge ass, not to mention that I had a few beers for lunch a few minutes ago so I'm talking out of my ass, may I add ...did you ever hear that tune by John Lee Hooker about big legs, tight skirt...I love that tune. Actually, I'm a huge John Lee fan http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/03/wo...ghis.html?_r=1 Jesus Christ looms over Rio de Janeiro, a quartet of American presidents gazes from the face of Mount Rushmore and Lenin keeps watch over St. Petersburg. But if there were a global contest to honor larger-than-life men on a colossal scale, Mongolia might just vanquish them all — again. A monument in Tsonjin Boldog is the latest effort to show off an old khan. Genghis Khan, the legendary horseman who conquered half the known world in the 13th century, has returned to the steppes of Mongolia, and this time he charges admission. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ian_Statue.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...han_Statue.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...atue-ub-sm.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...atue-front.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...hisxlarge1.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2..._o-450x337.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...laanbaatar.jpg You're up, Tully. While you decide where to go, I may have to go back to Tony's to try some more beers. Btw, some of you may be interested to know that the Chinese people have been brewing beer for over 9000 years. They must really know what they're doing by now, don't you think? |
Yes I like John Lee Hooker too. Also like this guy-
OK, Find me. |
are you in a gada-da-vida, baby?
|
No, but you could be close... since I can't remember where that would be. I know I knew it once but that was the day I played Black Sabbath at 78 and saw God.
