Odessa Country Club AKA "The Old Course Golf Course?"
|
no and no, but i am in odessa...
|
are you at Ector County Coliseum?
If so, I'm surprised since I always thought you could fit at least 5132 people in there: The Ector County Coliseum is a 5,131 seat multi-purpose arena in Odessa, Texas. It is home to the Odessa Roughnecks (Indoor Football League), the Odessa Jackalopes (Central Hockey League), the Sand Hills Rodeo, and the biennial Permian Basin International Oil Show. |
Yeah, but seat number 5132 always has bird shit on it.....
|
Fortunately, we have sports seating cleaning specialists at all of our world-class stadiums, including Ector.

not in the coliseum...
|
are you at Ratliff Stadium, home of the Odessa Permian Panthers?
...who, by the way, should invest in spelling lessons since they spelled "Abilene" wrong (it's in Texas no less!!!) at the bottom of their website as "Ablene". I have not found any reference to Abilene as Ablene, or any other place named Ablene. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...206/ablene.jpg |
nick's got it...
i'm just about finished reading "friday night lights;" fascinating book written in 1989 by h. g. bissinger. i've loosely followed the network television series of the same name and understand that at one time a movie was made based on the book. Ratliff Stadium - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (and that appears to be an "i" in between the "b" and "l" in the MOJO website - perilously close, though...) |
I eye the i, unc. Thanks for opening my eyes to the i. And my most sincere apologies to the fighting Permian Panther Mojos.
I'm not familiar with that series, nor the book. I'll check it out since you said it's fascinating. Please give me a few moments to find my next hiding spot. |
OK, I have to go with what I got or else.

Touch the great lakes at any point?
|
Zook, do you mean the "Great Lakes", or some great lakes? Reason I ask is I'm not too far from Medford Lakes which, as unc so poignantly guessed, is in NJ where I am.
This weird thing I'm standing next to is one of those superlative things that I have been known to favor in past hidings. |
I know you said not landlocked, but I figured that maybe, just maybe, the great lakes could count as "open water". I meant THE Great Lakes.Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie and Ontario.
However... NJ New Joisy (so I hear it being spoken) is the area, huh... How about: the chemical coast.... Bayway Refinery |
south of medford lakes?
|
In the past, not related to this game, I have worked for days in the Bayway Refinery but I'm not there now. I'm SW of there.
unc, I'm north of Medford Lakes. This is a weird superlative thing. |
have anything to do with rolly coasters?
|
nope, not a rolly coaster or amusement park of any kind
clue: superlative body part |
Princeton uni?
|
ft. dix?
|
neither of those. Find me in Trenton.
|
Near the giant tooth?
|
whoa!!! Zook, are you a dentist or what? Yes, I'm at the world's largest tooth ...largest at least according to the local legends.
You are up again, mate. <<< is that correct usage of friendly downunder lingo, I hope? If I said that in this neck of the woods they'd think we were hiding on Brokeback Mountain or at the local baths. World's Largest Tooth, Trenton, New Jersey http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...oth_carden.jpg A human molar about 15 feet tall. One of many odd public sculptures -- most of them abstract -- that dot the landscape along the east side of the Amtrak tracks, from the train station at Sloan Ave. just north of Hutchinson Mills, down along Klockner Rd, and continuing along E. State Street to Sculptors Way, where a left turn takes you to New Jersey's largest sculpture park. |
Your statemewnt is OK down here, me ol' mate.
I actually saw the tooth a couple days ago, but dismissed it, and was trying for head/brain, thus "Princeton". I need a minute to find a good hiding spot... BRB..... |
|

|
Royal Botanic Gardens? ...I didn't know you Aussies had royalty
|
Not at/on/under the coathanger, but I can see it from here.
Not smelling the flowers, either. This is a fun place, though. |
are you in king's cross?
|
I actually walked thru K C many years ago, but not this time. I'm on the other side of the bridge....
|
are you at Taronga Zoo?
|
the zoo is too far east.
I'n near the bridge.... cause I can see it.. "the coathanger" |
So I gather that the coathander is the Sydney Harbour Bridge. But since you're not at/on/under it, how about are you at the Sydney Harbour Tunnel?
|
Nope.. I am ON dry land. Above the water line.
I have been dropping hints all over town,,, (cryptic) |
|
That be it! See me there, at the ticket window?
Met a girl. We had some fun... . |
I think if I was a little kid I'd be scared of that face. Zook, was her name Rosie?
OK, give me a bit to find a new place. |
OK, where in the world am I?
|
Newtown Square, PA?
|
hey, you following me around? I took a drive late this afternoon and went right through Newtown Sq. I even posted my drive in a thread I started on a local car forum about nice drives.
In any case, no, I'm not in Newtown Square, PA. But I have to say you are not really too far from where I am. |
he's got you pegged....
I just gonna say..... ummm.. Valley Forge national park? |
gettysburg?
|
good guesses considering yesterday was the 4th of July. But both of those places are too far west.
|
in the middle of the delaware river, on a rowboat?
|
a lot closer, a bit too far east, a day late.
|
King of Prussia Mall??????
|
conshohocken, pa?
|
now you are both too far west again.
When unc guessed in the middle of the Delaware River you were within a mile of where I am. |
Penn boathouse, on the banks of the might "surekill" river...
|
Yeah, but the "middle of the delaware river", on a river that is 360 miles long, hardly seems logical to be less than a mile from you....
I base my answer in close reference to UP. I originally said Barbadoes Island, but I see Tysons Dump.... Wonder why where Tyson took a crap is so important???? So..... BN, "Tyson's Dump! hehehe . |
tyson's dump...i love it :)
|
Sorry I was incommunicado for a bit. I went to Erie PA yesterday afternoon, came back this evening, and had no time for getting online. Stayed at the Sheraton on the downtown lakefront...nice spot.
OK, Tysons dump is also too far west, as is Penn's boathouse. But I have been to some good boathouse parties and in my high school art classes I drew a few pencil and pen & ink drawings of the boathouses and the boats in the water. I'm in Philadelphia and since I was thinking of our recent Independence Day holiday, where I'm hiding is related to that holiday...though I'm not at Independence Hall. |
anywheres near drexel, where my nephew currently rows?
|
send him my best wishes, but no...I'm east of Broad Street and south of Arch Street.
|
Rittenhouse Square, is my latest guess.... i HAVE A BOOKMARK FOR THE MOVIE lAW ABIDING CITIZEN, JUST OVER THE ROAD, FROM HERE...
oops cap lock. meh |
near the Bourse?
|
Zook,
Rittenhouse Sq. is west of Broad St. so outside my defined perimeter. But if you're on the Square give me a call and I'll buy you a juicy steak dinner at Smith & Wolensky in the Rittenhouse Hotel. unc, the Bourse building is less than 2 city blocks from where I am. Where I am is closely related to the Declaration of Independence. |
independence hall?
|
Oops, and I was looking at the other side an all..
I was gonna say, carpenters hall, but thought I was on the wrong side... |
Independence Hall and Carpenter's Hall are very close to where I am, within 2 city blocks. But neither of those are correct.
clue: who drafted the Declaration of Independence? |
don't see nothin' jeffersonian within a two block radius of the bourse, independence hall, or carpenters...
|
you ain't lookin' good enuff
You are right thinking of Jefferson, and I did mention that this place is related to the Declaration of Independence which Jefferson wrote. I'm not sure how much more I can say without giving it away. |
