Seeing as tykes are now allowed, thanks to rules re-shift-ification, I'll take the liberty to be the first to post one of the little critters, and one so aptly named:
Monarch the baby http://img124.imageshack.us/img124/7...f9e309b927.jpg I also like this picture: Jet also likes this honorably-mentioned picture click to show -- both pictures were taken in the Philippines, nineteen years apart. |

I don't know what 'pierogies' are, though I'm guessing they are akin to brewskis.

Jet, In case your question was not just rhetorical, pierogies are a Polish food item; similar to filled dumplings found in Chinese cuisine, though Pierogies are larger, usually about/at least 3"L X 2"W X 3/4" thick (76mm X 50mm X 20mm); typically filled with ...just about anything, but commonly sour kraut, or cabbage, or tender sauted chicken bits, or ground meat, or cheese, or potato, maybe some bacon bits and/or onion with some of these other ingredients, or dessert ones with blueberry, cherry, sweet cottage cheese, etc. First cooked and often just eaten that way, but also quite often slightly crisped up in butter, usually served with sour cream. For example: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ith-cheese.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ogi_frying.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ierogies_7.jpg |
Ah, yes. Thanks, Nick. I know of that kind of food in many different cultures, whatever name and ingredients they just happen to acknowledge it by at the locale and by the eaters.

MEREDITH KNELL, #2426 of WOODLAND HILLS, CA, running in the 2008 Great Race of Agoura Hills Half Marathon on Saturday April 7, 2008. This is a photo from the Chesebro Half Marathon. This is a unique run that traverses both road and trails. It wanders through Old Agoura down Chesebro Road and onto the Cheeseboro Canyon Trail in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. Because the photo above might have a tendency to "break" in the near future, I'm attaching this one as a bonus. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/132/3...909d10d252.jpg 2.426 by eneko123 "The Guys' Cliff" The highest point in La Palma island. |

I don't know, but I did just realize there was another thread similar to this one before she thought this one up (and truth be told, I was thinking about creating this thread myself at the same time it popped up, but I had a "premiere date" set for the week after its eventual creation here, and now).

Just genious.) |

This is a Great Britain manufactured tube, not all of Mullards are in this family with a lot of these tubes being sourced form Amperex in Holland. As I understand it, Mullard’s 6DJ8 tube tooling came from Amperex and it looks like it every Mullard in this family I’ve ever seen looks like an Amperex inside down to the smooth edge, slightly square shaped mica spacers. Perhaps as a result this tube owes a lot to the Amperex 6922 family when it comes to sound quality. This guy’s got good bass, nice mids and a wet, ambient soundstage occupied by slightly smaller and images than the Siemens and Ediswans. A nice tube overall though not quite up to the level of the best Amperexes. |

LMS 2500 by Adrian Cains author's comments: 2500 is one of only 37 3 cylinder tank locomotives built by the LMS to work services on the old London, Tilbury and Southend Railway in 1934. It is the only survivor of its class. They were followed by a design of 2 cylinder tanks by Stanier, and by his successor Charles Fairburn, eventually morphing into the successful Standard Class 4 tank of BR. |
