Peter Roebuck was saying on the radio that Duckworth Lewis doesn't work as well in Oz conditions, where batting second at night is already harder.

I think Oz have been playing with selection ideas a bit too much towards the end of the series and the Poms came good at the right time.

I think our world cup options are looking less good than a week or two ago - hopefully simmo will be right, but that is also looking less likely.

If we take him to the Carribean we're as good as fucked. If he can't get pommy batsmen out he sure as fuck wont get South African/Pakistani/Indians out.

yeah i know..our attack doesnt look too flash right now. hopefully our batting will pull us out. but we bowl entire teams out less and less these days, so i think without our top guns we're doomed already.

On the contrary I think our attack will win it for us. Our batting is very suspect with Symmo out and Pup having an injured hip. I went to the game at the G against the kiwis and I can tell you Tait was very rapid... the caps were shitting themselves. I reckon we've got a great 4-seam attack, and with Hogg in the squad we can change to adapt to different pitches.

Everyone is doom and gloom but lets face it, we got beaten twice by Paul Collingwood, and he's not going to be doing all that shit in the WC.

White out is good, he's just not up to this level. Hodge is a dicey call... he seems to pull an innings out every now and then to show us what he's capable of, then follow it with half a dozen shockers. Watson is a spud.

im embarrased to even call it a game last night... we lost by ten wickets. i cant even believe it.. 3 losses on the trot is almost unheard of (unless your the english cricket team of course :P ) hehe sory i just had to say it.

we needed a wake up call.. i just hope its not a slide....

Try 4 losses on the trot. We lost the last round-robin game of the CommBank series to the poms as well. I can't believe we have the audacity to rest our captain and vice-captain against a serious contender just weeks out from the WC. Who the fuck do we think we are, the US basketball team?? We are fucking around with our team the same time that the other teams like India/Pak/SAF are cementing their line-ups, it's ridiculous.

On the upside I'm hoping this result will bring a few of the Kiwi posters back to this forum...

I hate to say it but we look seriously screwed for the world cup - our batting is OK, but our bowling has looked fairly ordinary since the middle of the CB series.
