Grey Cup
Alright my fellow Canadians, someone had to do it!
I'm calling Montreal as the winner 42-39! Any takers? Yes, I'm from Montreal. The reason they win? NO MORE MATTHEWS. That dingus has been single-handedly losing the Grey Cup for years, throwing inexperienced players into positions, without practicing, at the last minute. |
I agree with the Montreal pick (also originally from Montreal!) and I'll say 41-33.
|
Thing is, the Grey Cup is also usually one of the most exciting championship
games to watch in all of sport. Too bad there isn't more worlwide exposure (read US doesn't know it exists!). |
Ok, dumb American here, what's the Grey Cup?

Cool would like to see one. Three downs, lots of kicking I'll bet.

the punt is quite a versatile tool in the CFL........ |
Who in their right mind could possibly pick Montreal? This is BC's year plain and simple... Barring a BC-esque choke I'm taking the Lions over the Als 31-17
|
BC: 35-23
man I hate that we lost buono |

Last years was crazy; it went to double OT to decide it. Games are generally closer and higher scoring than the Superbowl. Quote:

YEAH BC!!!
Not a convincing win, but a win nonetheless... Some awesome defense in this game. I really never had any doubt that BC would win this year.. they were just so strong. |

Montreal played an excellent defensive game. I don't think anybody expected them to hold BC to only 25 points (18 of them field goals). Not exactly the complete domination that most people expected, but I guess it does not really matter. Montreal's offense was asleep in the first half and in the second half they were full of mistakes. Not to mention coaching mistakes as well. Montreal should have challenged the fumble call on the goal line. The challnge could not have hurt them, it was their last chance - now, I am not saying they would have won if they scored, but big deal if they lost a timeout at that point. |
Sticky speaks the truth.
That was the most boring Grey Cup I've seen in years. Unless your a purist, defence is not what one typically looks for in the CFL Still better than most NFL games. Montreal lost (grolsch pouts).... |

this year was the 94th Grey cup. It is amongst the oldest pro sports championships in the world. And yes, the 3 down, 110 yard field game is rather exciting. There were American teams in the league back in the 1990's. Baltimore Colts (or Stallions?) even won the cup once. There was a team in las Vegas too I believe. Any ways, read up on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_Cup |
