I dropped a dozen eggs.

I just dropped a pack of eggs as I was putting groceries away. Of the dozen, I could only save half.

I'm not really keen on making egg nog, so what can I make with 6 eggs, and don't say a really big omelet.

can you seperate the yolks from the whites or are they a scrambled mess?

If it's too much egg for you, you know you can always freeze eggs. Most bakeries use frozen eggs, if I remember right.

A bunch of really small omelettes?

Seriously though, you can always back some christmas goodies. There are plenty of good recipes here.

if you can separate the whites and yolks you could make an angel food cake... especially if you happen to have some fresh or frozen fruit in those grocery bags too

Hard boil them and make an egg salad sandwich! Or hard boil them and make a shrimp / crab louis! Or hard boil them and color them and pretend it's easter! Or make a vanilla custard! Ice cream! Pancakes! Brownies! Cookies!

The same stuff you do with a dozen, only you will end up with half of it.

It's not a big deal, eggs keep for a good amount of time and they are cheap. I'd be more worked up about cleaning that mess up.

Have a fish fry, make some french toast over the weekend, make some fried rice later this week. Those things should take like 2 eggs each.

--- you could clean the shells out, then boil up water, or soup stock of some sort add some veggies, like bok choy, and drop the egg in it. Basically make an egg drop soup. then either eat or freeze for later.

Lots of great suggestions! I completely forgot about making egg drop soup, although freezing soup is tricky, you need to cool it properly. The funny thing is someone elsewhere had suggested I make a quiche, which I already had in plan to make Friday morning. But I failed to express my concern; would the yolks and egg whites be ok to store in a tupperware container in the refridgerator and still be good for the quiche I planned on baking Friday morning?

Again everyone thanks for all the suggestions. I guess because I was in such a panic when I dropped the carton, I wasn't able to think straight. I have an icecream maker, of course I could make icecream. I also have two bags of chocolate morsels, I could have baked cookies, among all the other tips.

they should be fine- i'd just put a piece of plastic film (saran wrap) on top of the eggs to keep as much air out as possible - and be sure to cook the eggs thoroughly...

The eggs will be fine in an airtight container. Keep them in the coldest part of the refrigerator. Airtight is essential as otherwise the eggs will absorb odors around them in the refrigerator and start to taste "off." They won't be bad, they just won't taste right.
