Beer additive
A friend of mine brought some stuff back from France called Amer, which you pour about a shot's worth into a glass of beer. Really darkens things up. I think it's some kind of hops mixture, but I don't know. It's absolutely fantastic. Anybody know more about this?

I prefer to drink my beer straight, but a quick google turned up this:

Is this what you were after? |
Yes! That stuff is fantastic. I also wouldn't normally consider adding things to beer, but this stuff really adds a great flavor (and it's not bad on its own).
|
Hmm, that sounds interesting. What kind of beer were you adding this to? Too bad it's so hard to find, I'd like to try it out.

I was using Yuengling Lager, but I imagine any medium or light beer would do.

I LOVE Clamato juice! That's what I call a bloody clam beer!! Those are AWESOME!!!!!

In a small town in Texas, we have a drink called Red Draws.
Beer with tomato juice and tobasco sauce...kind of like a beer bloody mary! Not too bad every once in a while! |

(* shudder *) (* wince *) (* shudder *) And you want to put this vile brew in beer? You know, they used to burn people like you at the stake, or chuck rocks at them until they were hamburger. Nowadays, the penalty for blashphemy is, fortunately, much less severe. Unfortuantely, you seem to enjoy drinking clamato, so I don't think it would phase you much. (* shudder *) |
never add anything to beer. It is a sin. There are enough liquors in which you can put your horseradish or whatsoever.
Beer is a great drink of its own and doesn`t need to be mixed up. Actually every ingredient except water, hops and malt makes the beer worse. |
