BEST potato salad in the world
My mother in law's recipe- and she has passed it on to my family.
So easy and you serve it WARM! cut up red potatos in bite-size pieces and cook. Mix 1/2 mayo with 1/2 sour cream and one packet of Hidden Valley Ranch MIX. Drain potatos, put into large bowl. Mix in the dressing with potatos, chop up 2 green onions and add bacon bits. The proportions vary depending on servings you will need. It's like eating a baked potato! |
I fear that I may have to trump you... ...I remember my grandma using T. Marzetti's Slaw Dressing in her potato salad..
Oh-Baby! -SF |
to each his own- but I don't think you can compare when having a slaw dressing vs. ranch & warm potatoes.

yummmm....warm tater sald.

Sounds great, I'm going to have to try it.
My mother-in-law makes a terrific cold potato salad. I asked her the secret and she told me she marinates the cut potatoes in pickle juice. |
Toss some bacon in there! mmmmmmmmmmm

My douch-bag friend used to buy 3 or 4 large cans of Reads German Potato salad, dump em in a bowl, sprinkle some extra seasonings on it and take it to picnics. He'd stand there and say, "Oh yes, my dear Grandmom's secret recipe" Had people believing it too. What a goof-ball.

^^^ have you tried this kind? live a little! lol

I prefer a slightly modified German Potato salad.
Dice bacon and brown it. Reserve some of the fat and add cider vinegar, onion, celery, and sugar. Mix in boiled red potatos cut in a large dice. Just before serving add a touch of Miracle Whip to smooth it out. I can not tell you amounts becuase I do it by feel and taste. |
