omg this is retarted help me!!!
omg what other stores out there in the usa in louisianaish has friggin manual operated food destroyers.. blade goes up.. blade goes down repeat step one..
all i want is something that goes up and down and the veggies turn into cubes instead of a veggie juice.. small cubes.. maybe 1 1/16 all around. im wanting to make homemade salsa.. tired of all the lame tomato paste in the jars.. chop up some tomato's ues the juice that comes with them .. chop up some bananna peppers (fresh if you can get them) 1 jalahipino pepper .. 1 for ever 3 bananna peppers half a big onion add some garlic powder and salt to taste.. NOTE: the salt cuts the acid taste from the tomato's.... its reall good fresh.. ill never eat outta a jar again.. best part.. freeze the veggies to make more later when you run out.. |
Pampered Chef has a chopper that is the best. (the only thing the wife left in the kitchen when she went bye byes)
I use this when I make spaghetti sauce. It has a handle that you slam down over and over each time the blades go up they turn slightly....wish I had a picture. |

Try useing a knife first. Those auto choppers suck. You have to cut the stuff before you use the chopper right? Whats the point you're already chopping....

Actually the pampered-chef thing is pretty good. It takes about fifteen seconds to clean, and chops up stuff like there's no tommorrow.
|
ditto on the pampered chef chopper - i have the reg. size and the large size - you can even chop ice with it for daquiris :D
careful when ya clean it - fingers chop really well too! |
Learn how to use a chefs knife on a wood cutting board and you will throw away every chopper, food prosessor, and "thing a ma jobee" you ever owned...and clean up is in seconds (not to mention storage)
|
Ditto on the knife. Keep it sharp with a professional sharpening system.
|
I don't know I just use a good sharp blade to cut the stuff up... It takes a few more seconds but you have to cut the stuff up to put it in the chopper thing anyway
|
Try adding lime juice!

I was hoping this thread was about tarts.

Pampered Chef Cutting Edge: Food Chopper #2585 $28.50 Just a few quick presses of the knob rotate the durable blades to chop vegetables and nuts for quick meal preparation. |
those things do not make even cuts. thats ok if your not cooking the veggies, but if you do they will cook uneven because of the size difference. they tend to pulverize the veggies, take it easy with it and pour the juice you do get into your salsa.
best bet: good french (chefs)knife and sharpening steel. |
