So, the cold weather approaches in the northeast again, and tea with honey is imbibed more often than usual in my household. We've been refilling a honey bear most recently, but it just cracked.

I'm trying to find the "best" method for storing and dispensing honey. The honey itself, we got in a big jar from local bees. But looking around on Amazon, I don't really see a good option for replacement. The major options seem to be:

1. The dipper.

This seems pretty messy and slow, and doesn't look like it would store on a shelf too easily.

2. The gravity feed.

Either really slow, or you put hot water in the base, wait, then it flows OK.

Or I could buy another squeezy-bear, but I don't feel like throwing out the honey that's already in the bear.

How do you dispense your honey?

I open the jar and use a spoon, which I then swirl in my mug of steeped tea. It's not very high-tech, but it's functional and reduces clutter. Speaking of which, I'm running low on honey. Thanks for the reminder.

I use a squeezy bear....so don't really have any tips. When I do get local honey in a jar, I usually use genuinegirly's method.

Publix down here has an alternative to the squeezy-bears that's just a normal shaped plastic wide-and-flat bottle with a silicone... "Sphincter" in the... um... hole... that sortof catches and pulls back in the last bit of honey when you stop squeezing.

I just realised how hilarious it would be to install said... sphincter... into the BOTTOM of a squeezy-bear. I'm not entirely sure anyone that hasn't spent far too much time on the internet would find it as humorous as I do though.

I bought my honey from a guy on the beach... I pour it from the wine bottle he gave me to carry it in. I just pour it out.

Not all that fancy.

I like that dipper but that bottom dropping dispenser just looks wrong.

I can't really imagine this. Can you find a picture of it?

Otherwise, looks like I'll have to wait for the next empty jelly jar and just use the spoon method.

More or less This shape, just with a little silicon thing in it like you find on some mustard/ketchup bottles these days.
