Need help with food related design
I guess I could put this in Artwork, but I need input from chefs/cooks.
I'm working on some sauce labels for a client of mine. The art is the same across all the labels but there's specific text that changes color depending on what it is. This is where I need your input. I'm looking for the appropriate color that matches the sauce. Not the color that'll match what's in the bottle per se, but more of "when I think of ____ I think of the color ______". Here's the list: Ginger Sauce Soy Sauce Teriyaki Sauce Worcestershire Sauce Sweet and Sour Sauce Ginger Dressing Mustard Dressing Orange and Ginger Glaze The background color is black so that and white are off the table. I'd like to pick colors that make sense, especially to a cook. Thanks! |
I'd love to help, but I left my Pantone guide at work.
Erm - as a rough guide; to me... Ginger is green/gold Soy is chocolate brown Terriaki makes me think of Sky blue for some reason Worcestershire sauce is burnt orange (the colour of Lee and Perrins packaging). Sweet and Sour is Red/Orange Mustard is tan Hope that sparks something. Not being silly, but have you tried google image search just to get a feel for what comes up? |
Yeah, GIS is always first on the agenda! That just pretty much answered what the sauces looked like, any bottles pictured didn't help with the color choices.
Thanks for the input, though, that helps! Sky blue for teriyaki... interesting. |
