Like...
  • I stir in creamy peanut butter into softened ice cream. Put it back in the freezer for another few hours. The pb solidifies and then melts in your mouth just like milk chocolate.
  • I can't stand overcooked meat. I'm so bad that yes, I have eaten pink pork before and I've only cut out the raw pieces of chicken and eaten around the area. Beef must be bloody. Overcooked meat is a disaster.
  • Despise onions but adore Burger King's onion rings.
  • If I'm really hungry, I'll spread peanut butter on warm Pop-Tarts (fruit flavored only.) Makes it like super gooey peanut butter and jelly.
  • I only eat cereal out of large cups / mugs with a spoon. The vessel is easier to maneuver. And as I run out of cereal and there's still a bunch more milk, you just add more cereal till you're full. Then instead of drinking milk out of a bowl all careful like, you just drink it out of the cup / mug voila.
  • Must mix corn and mashed potatoes.
  • My dog always gets some of whatever I'm eating. He's fat. My fault completely. Shame on me.

amonkie 11-04-2009 04:02 AM

I like cold pizza and spaghetti - Especially with the spaghetti, I'll just it cold and by itself. I have no idea why.

Redlemon 11-04-2009 07:30 AM

I like to mix salsa into my tuna fish. Skip the mayo. Scoop with tortilla chips.

I'll have to find my recipe for Peanut Butter and Chocolate sorbet. You would love that shit so much, it tastes like ice cream and a Reese Cup had a really fucking tasty bastard child.

Pink Pork is good for you, I like my pork Medium. I'd love for America to get over the "Pork HAS to be well done" mindset that people are in.

I mix that shit too woods. Mash pots can be mixed with any veg.

I was grossing people out in chat the other night with my fried Livermush sandwich. If I got the time I will make my Artery Clogger (tm). Texas Toast, Cheddar cheese, Bacon, Fried Egg, Fried Livermush w/ Mayo and Mustard. Add hashbrowns and a huge glass of milk and I'm done for the morning.

I do the same thing....or use peas.

I've been told I'm weird because I don't eat syrup on pancakes or milk on cereal. I don't like my food to get soggy.

I do that too, but I know where it comes from.

So apparently it's a very Dutch thing to mix your food together. I grew up watching my dad mix things together on his plate. For instance, if he has your typical two-egg breakfast, he slices the bacon up, mixes it with his cut-up over-easy egg, and then mixes the whole thing with the breakfast potatoes. If dinner was pork, potatoes, applesauce, and a vegetable, all four would end up mixed up together. He still makes boiled potatoes to go with his canned peas often; he mushes together the potatoes and peas and tops them with gravy (yuck, if only because of the canned peas, which are an abomination).

My favorite mixture is to combine mashed potatoes, corn, stuffing, a little gravy, and applesauce. I keep a box of good quality instant mashed potatoes (odd but true, they exist--look at the natural food store for potato flakes that are just potato flakes) on hand to make this faster, and making stuffing is quick too. Since my SO is veggie, we use a powdered veggie gravy mix that is very tasty and quick to make. Then the corn goes on, then the applesauce, and it all gets slowly mixed together, because I always want a bite of potato-stuffing-gravy-corn-applesauce. My SO thinks it's so gross. I think it's delicious.

And sometimes I like to eat cheesewiches, which are bread, Best Foods mayonnaise (don't be skimpy), Gulden's brown mustard, and thinly sliced Tillamook cheddar on whole-wheat. They are mostly an excuse to eat mayonnaise.

My ice cream has to have stuff in it. All too often I pick out the stuff and throw out the remaining ice cream lol. My poison is B&J's Chocolate Fudge Brownie after some pb has set in thar. Yum.

I thought it had to be white - clear juices, etc. I'm not always that good with the whole clear juice thing. But I know once I do learn my lesson, I won't screw around anymore lol.

Well... I do like chicken livers sauteed in butter and garlic. Gizzards too. Great for the Atkins Diet lol.

Appearance doesn't really tell you anything when it comes to meat, unfortunately. A good food thermometer does, though, and the recommended internal temp for pork is 160 according to the USDA.

Here is the CDC's fact sheet on trichinellosis, which is the primary foodborne illness caused by eating undercooked pork: Trichinellosis Fact Sheet | Division of Parasitic Diseases | CDC The risk of getting it is quite low--there are an average of 12 reported cases in the U.S. per year. The CDC disagrees with the USDA on internal cooking temp, but I'd go with the USDA's recommendation unless you want to eat shoe leather.

Bill O'Rights 11-04-2009 08:32 AM

I absolutely cannot eat scrambled eggs without ketchup. I also put ketchup on macaroni and cheese and fish sticks, though that is not necessary.

Yeah. Mrs. O'Rights has expresly forbidden me from ever ordering scrambled eggs in public. The first time that she ever saw me doing it she thought that I was doing it just to gross her out. Nope, says I, that's how I roll. We've been married for...let's see...well, quite a few years now, and she still has not gotten used to the idea of ketchup on scrambled eggs.

I figured it had to be low. Otherwise I'd have had it by now lol. I'll have to bookmark that though.

I like to eat grilled steak cold (the extra one that's left over from the grill last night and stored in the 'fridge for later).

snowy 11-04-2009 08:54 AM

BOR, I too cannot eat scrambled eggs without ketchup.

However, I prefer to dress up my mac and cheese with peas.

Crunchy peanut butter and blueberry waffle sandwich.

Y'know...that doesn't sound half bad. Except that I don't like crunchy peanut butter. I may have to try that with some creamy Jif. In fact, I'm almost positive that there are some frozen blueberry waffles in the freezer. Alright, Airhead..er...Airborne, you sold me. I'm gonna try it.

This is from the mouth of my Chef, but Pork can be eaten medium rare and up. Like me, he prefers his medium with a bit of pink in the middle. Trichinosis was deadly back in the day because of the unsanitary conditions that pigs were kept in (rolling around in their own shit) and the fact that most feed fed to pigs was raw or undercooked. 50 years ago you wouldn't DARE undercook a pig, but now with better sanitation standards for pigs, you can have undercooked pig. I wouldn't do it in any other country that wasn't a highly developed country, but here I will under cook it. People were raised with the idea that pork is like chicken, it can't be undercooked or you will shit your brains out for 4 days then kill over dead. Basically, it can be done, but eat at your own risk. If you are fearful of Trichinosis, then cook it all the way through.

PB and sweet pickle sandwiches, but only every few years.

Willravel 11-04-2009 10:33 AM

Bananas and American cheese are a surprisingly delicious combination (so long as it's real American cheese, not that fat-free stuff). I don't eat it too often, mostly because of the "seriously?" looks I get, but every now and then, before a workout, it's perfect.

Im kind of curious as to what is "Texas Toast"?

snowy 11-04-2009 01:57 PM

Texas toast - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

yankeefatboy 11-07-2009 10:44 AM

Melt a slice of Cheddar Cheese on apple pie. Only way I like to eat the pie.

Poppinjay 11-07-2009 11:26 AM

I like scrapple. People react negatively to it, I think mostly because of the name. It's the same as sausage basically, except mixed with corn meal. Generally speaking, it's so much lower in fat that it's more difficult to fry. So short order cooks sometimes serve up mushy scrapple which can turn people off.

Marlon's Mom 11-07-2009 11:35 AM

I was raised by a good Polish cook. Now, I don't know if this is something gramma started on her own, or if it's some sort of traditional Polish thing that's been handed down to the cooks in the family, but baked pig skin is some goooood eatin'.

Yes, I'm new. Hi.

Another scrapple fan here. Lots of folks think it's nasty, but I think they just haven't had it properly made.

I know I eat some things that make others grimace, but I draw the line at burgoo. :D

Sue 11-07-2009 01:14 PM

I put sugar in my salsa and spaghetti sauce. A lot of sugar.

ring 11-08-2009 04:22 PM

I pop a large batch of popcorn in a soup-stock size kettle.

As the days go by it becomes better tasting,
chewier and more flavourful.

It is not stale popcorn. It is aged & cured, to perfection.

Why would you ruin salsa and pasta sauce?

noodle 11-08-2009 04:41 PM

I put Guinness and coffee in my chili.
I have some odd habits... some that I've turned other people onto and some not.

--Grilled cheese (cheddar ONLY, thank you) with pickles inside, dipped in ketchup.
--Rice cakes with natural peanut butter and sliced strawberries. really strange flavor.
--Bagels dipped in ketchup
--Can't ever leave the taste of sweet in my mouth. Hence, I used to eat my salad after dessert as a teenager. Or pickles after dessert to kill the sweet taste.
--Popcorn with natural peanut butter, fat-free ranch dip or parmesan cheese.
--Straight up vinegar and ground pepper with a little sugar as salad dresing.
--Lemonade and vanilla vodka.

I'm having trouble remembering more of them, but I guess maybe I'm getting less gross?

A former cow-orker used to rave about the taste sensation of stale Fritos eaten with fresh, chilled pineapple.

:orly:

ring 11-09-2009 10:44 AM

Occasionally I'll crave a sardine & peanut-sauce sandwich.
If there's no peanut-sauce in the house, regular peanut butter will suffice.

GreyWolf 11-12-2009 05:01 AM

Nice, crisp, tart apple slices are wonderful on a juicy hamburger.

I love dipping my french fries in a thick vanilla milk shake.

When I eat tomato soup I like to add a lot of crackers. When I say a lot I mean I like it to be a paste.

I also like ketchup on my eggs but I don't think that's weird at all.

absorbentishe 11-23-2009 05:44 PM

Ketchup on my eggs too, but I've started putting salsa on it!

I mix tuna with salsa, and maybe a little ranch dressing

Ketchup with peas or mixed veggies. Sounds gross, but oh soo good!

Tuna and mac and cheese! People tell me this is strange, good to me...

My wife and kids do the fries and shake thingy.

wooÐs 12-03-2009 06:53 PM

There are very few cheeses I will eat 'raw.'
Normally they need to be melted on something. Like American cheese disgusts me on it's own. But it's great on a burger.
