Fruit Salad (yummy yummy)

Anyway, my father is throwing a surprise b-day party for my mother's 68th. He's taken care of most of the food but asked me to bring fruit salad (it's gonna be a picnic dinner).

I've never thrown together a fruit salad before and need ideas, please.
Oh, and it needs to feed 27 people.

This is how I like my fruit salad. Fuck complicating it...

Take two watermelons, slice off the top two inches so you can get to the flesh (like opening a pumpkin to carve). Scoop out all the watermelon down to the white part. In bowl, add watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes and melon. If you want apples wait until you get to the party to cut them because they will turn brown. You can cut them and then dunk them in some lemon juice to keep them apple colored. Add a little lime zest and put all of it back into the scooped out watermelon. Depending on the amount of food there, two watermelons worth of salad should be good.
