Musings on Bounty Bars
Can someone from the International TFP community eat a Bounty Bar for me?
They don't usually sell them in the United States, though Wikipedia tells me that they're available at most NYC newstands. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3141/...309129.jpg?v=0 Do they still sell Bounty McFlurries at the McDonalds in Paris and Budapest? http://proventures.files.wordpress.c.../mcflurry2.jpg I love these things. I could eat a box of them right now. http://www.approvedfood.co.uk/ekmps/...ges/bounty.jpg Hmmm maybe I'll order a box online. Wait... they're no longer vegetarian? What's with candy manufacturers using animal rennet? Maybe I'll never eat a Bounty again. It is a sad thought. I must resort to eating a Mounds - which aren't even made by Mars. Stupid Hersheys (Peter Paul) almost-substitute. At least they come in dark chocolate. http://p1.hotornot.com/bl/brands/KRE...CJKSXUVXXF.jpg |
ive had them recently, forgot where. perhaps a truckstop somewhere in the west.
i just had some Limited Edition Coconut M&Ms, they tasted like mounds, pretty fuckin good if you like that sort of flavor. |
They are easily acquired in NZ. In fact, my desk is a bit of a mess... I might be able to find a wrapper around here if I look hard enough... ok, maybe not, but certainly out in the trash. I love them.

Bounty Bars and McFlurries are easily procured here.
But I don't recall ever having a Bounty Bar. I think they're just chocolately coconut, right? Mounds should be everywhere here, considering there is a Hershey's factory within a three-hour drive of here. |
Ohh god the bounty bar. I had it once and the coconut in it made it taste like paper. No thanks. As for the McFlurries, yeah, they're OK.
|
Bounty bars come in dark chocolate too (see: )
|
Um, I've been eating them since I was a kid. You can find them at any world market here in Chicago burbs. I eat one at least once a week. You want some?
|
Bounty bars are easily available in Canada. In fact we used to be able to get another type of chocolate coconut bars in Canada. I just can't remember what they were called.

I do believe they sell Bounty Bars at Bites, the convenience store in our student union. They carry a variety of international candy bars; I usually go for the Lion Bar or a Cadbury Flake. I'll pop in tomorrow when I'm on campus and check. I haven't had one in a long time; I think the last time I ate one was on a visit to Canada.
I would certainly be willing to send you some, gg, if they have them in stock! |
They sell them in my local supermarket in the International foods aisle, where I get my HP Sauce, Lyons Gold tea, and Jelly babies. Never a big fan of them, but they're not bad.
