zomg! You listed the chili one!!!

I saw it at a Rite-Aid and died laughing. I thought for sure it'd last a week. What in the hell does it taste like? I just can't put the two together.

squeeeb 06-07-2009 04:56 AM

ALL ice cream

ALL potato chips

jellybeans.

It tastes like dark chocolate with a spicy kick to it. Just like any dish you'd add peppers to. It gives it that nice burn, with a hint of flavour when done right. Hot pepper added to chocolate drinks is nice as well.

It helps to like spicy. But this particular product isn't that hot; it's just a hint.

wooÐs 06-07-2009 06:29 AM

Ok.
I'll buy one to try lol.

snowy 06-07-2009 07:00 AM

Mmm chili and chocolate is always a good combo :)

When I can get them, I will inhale a bag of these:
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fX8bBFodtp...00/Ruffles.jpg

I like to have some of these in my backpack at all times just in case my blood sugar gets too low while I'm out and about:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...BellyBeans.jpg

And if I'm wandering around campus with nothing better to do I pop into the convenience store in the student union and pick up exotic candy bars. My favorites are:
http://www.ukgoods.com/images/fullsi...e-lion-bar.jpg
http://www.nestle.ca/NR/rdonlyres/88...eroMilkBar.jpg

Usually, though, I just stick to an occasional dose of fine ice cream:

Cheese puffs. Generic brands only -thank you. For some reason, the cheaper they are, the more delicious. Oddly enough, generic brands typically have some bleu cheese in the mix - which adds a tartness that's simply delightful.

http://www.hersheys.com/products/det...dark-chips.jpg
Others will do in a pinch, but these are my sweet staple. I keep them in the freezer to munch when I feel the urge. Oddly enough, my sister developed this same habit, with no communication on the idea. She prefers semi-sweet Tollhouse.

Dill pickle potato chips are the most sinful item on my junk food list. Oh my stars. I've eaten them until I got sores on the roof of my mouth from the acidity of the seasonings and sharpness of the chips. :) In my younger years when I could do it without feeling guilty.

Halanna 06-14-2009 12:21 PM

I have no clue how to imbed pictures cause I just don't know how.

Smartfood White Cheddar popcorn is my "go to" snack when renting movies.

Smoked Almonds! The more generic or cheaper the better, they put more salty smoke dust on them, and almonds are kinda good for you.

I'm a sucker for the Liption Onion Soup mixed in sour cream dip. That with Ruffles, gotta have that a couple times a year.

I can't find them anymore, but Lay's made a Chigago Chop House Loaded Baked Potato chip. Those were the best chips.

My husband has a weakness for Twix and Moosetracks ice cream.

This should fit in with guccilvr's chip choices. These are great! I've never seen them anywhere except in the D.C., Baltimore, Philly areas. Certainly not in Boston or the Midwest.
I also love pepitas (pumpkin seeds) and macadamia nuts. And pork rinds.

where is that from? looks awesome

Leto 08-25-2009 06:08 PM

well.... since you ask:

the place is called Dangerous Dan's Diner. It's in Toronto. We actually had a TFP meetup there for lunch once a couple of years ago.

Here's their website, check out the menu:

http://www.dangerousdansdiner.com/

the previously pictured burger is actually called the quadrupel C, or the Collosal Colon Clogger Combo, which comes with:

24oz burger served with a quarter pound of cheese, a quarter pound of bacon, and 2 fried eggs. Also comes with a large shake (flavor of your choice) and a small poutine.
Only $ 23.45

mmmmmmmmm.

If you wish you could opt for the Royal Option, which adds a deep fried Mars bar with whipped cream for desert.

Now that's junk food

wooÐs 08-25-2009 07:16 PM

mmmm poutiiiiiine.

A friend of mine gets me cans of poutine gravy when she goes home to Canada. I don't even make it often but it's comforting knowing I have them readily available, along with a bag of fries in the freezer and cheese in the fridge.

Leto 08-26-2009 02:39 AM

Poutine:

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...00/poutine.jpg

Charlatan 08-26-2009 02:54 AM

Love the Poutine.

I was all excited to see it on a menu here and ordered some. Sadly it was a disaster.

1) The fries were coated in paprika
2) The gravy was... insipid
3) The cheese was a nacho cheese sauce.

I nearly cried.

If anything will drag my ass back to Canada it would be poutine.

I may have to make some myself... not sure if I can get cheese curd here.

wooÐs 08-26-2009 03:31 AM

I find the cheese curds at Trader Joe's. Not sure if there's a store near you though. Try a farmer's market too.

---------- Post added at 07:31 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:27 AM ----------

btw, this is the stuff I have. 8 cans of it. It's really good imo.

Leto 08-26-2009 04:33 AM

Ahh St Hubert's.... Used to go there for chicken dinners, liked them more than Swiss Chalet. Ya, we have that stuff at home too.

Charlatan, maybe you can arrange to have some curd mailed to you! It's usually in a sealed package eh?

By the way, what you describe sounds very close to the only food that I like at Taco Bell: the Fries Supreme

Here are:

Yes, Belgian frites! When I was in Belgium last year, I was amazed how good they were. Much better than American fries, I am glad there is a frites place in the SF. I have also learned to love eating them with mayo, even though I thought I never would.

At first, I was like 'omg this is so rich I only want one!'
The box was gone 2 hours later. These things are fabulous.

Damn it. I hope I never see that Bailey's bar anywhere.....

Especially after the box of Reese's Peanut Butter Whoppers I ate tonight.

(Yeah, you read that right. Don't get them!)

No no - no bar. It's a box of maybe 10 wrapped chocolates.

Rite-Aid has them. You have to at least try them lol.

Baraka_Guru 10-01-2009 07:44 PM

Okay I see now. But it makes no difference to me. I'd still destroy them.

With my mouth.

They're amazing. It's like you can even smell the alcohol when you open the box, yet there's none.

Still fabulous.

I saw it at a Rite-Aid and died laughing. I thought for sure it'd last a week. What in the hell does it taste like? I just can't put the two together.

Saw the chili dark chocolate at a store last year and had to try it. Didn't regret it one bit. :)

I'm on that train.
But no beans. They'll put extra meat substance if you ask for no beans.

I've been noshing on these lately. Good thing I'm single atm.

I have a new favorite fast food:

Baja Fresh Mahi Mahi taco, which is actually fairly healthy. Full of fiber, 250 calories, 1.5g saturated fat.
