I just wanted to come to this thread for inspiration to eat better. mmm.

My last meal was a ham sammich and soda. no breakfast yet.

A few steepings of Lapsang Souchong. Smells like a campfire, tastes like beef jerky. The smokiness mellows after the first steeping, but it stays very smooth, hasn't gotten bitter yet.

nonfat yogurt with a peach cut into it. On the side, a corn on the cob and some butternut squash, freshly nuked.

Yeesh, do I feel virtuous........

Chicken with garlic, lemon zest, carrots, celery, peppers over spicy white rice.

Kopi and Kaya toast and butter.

Yummy Pizza rolls!!!

I just had a grilled panini with prosciutto, arugula and fontina cheese topped with sunnyside up eggs & truffle oil.

I think I might change my user name to Giant Panino!

I am nibbling on some of the pasta salad I made earlier. Suddenly Salad Classic with broccoli, black olives, tiny cubes of cojack cheese, and halved orange cherry tomatoes--it's one of my summer favorites.

Turkey on 12-grain, with chevre, mango chutney, and dijon mustard. (I'm too lazy/tired for a vegetable)--washed down with a cold Tankhouse Ale.

Other than watching TV, I simply cannot and will not eat while doing something. Even if it's just putzing around online. When I eat, I focus all my attention on that food. Don't try to start up casual conversation while we're at the table either. I will ignore you lol.

bbq chicken and corn on the cob and sailor jerrys and coke. did yall know you can make bbq chicken with general tso sauce? i wouldnt know either if i had realized we only had enough bbq sauce for about 2 pieces of chicken. i was skeptical at first but the general tsos worked out pretty good.

and the sailro jerrys is working out rather nicely as well

small bags of crunchy cheetos. it is the only thing in the house that is satisfying me. The good food gets delivered in the morning. :)

Just had some homemade zucchini bread. Seriously yummy... my mom makes the best zucchini bread EVER.

Kettle Black Bean tortilla chips. Fiber-licious.

I browned some minced beef with onions, courgettes (zucchini), and a can of baked beans, then cooked in some fusilli. Seasoned to taste. Delicious.

Frozen Indian food is kinda scary.

update on the palak paneer... yeah. avoid that one.

A chopped salad I made out of what was hanging around from the farmer's market: heirloom tomatoes (Cherokee Purple and Green Zebras), cucumbers, multicolored carrots, fresh mozzarella, and basil, dressed with a little Toscano olive oil and sea salt.

Creamy fried tofu with a sesame ginger sauce. Brown rice. Mustard greens with red wine vinegar, dijon mustard, shallots, and BACON.

Deer tenderloin stuffed with jalapenos and cream cheese, wrapped in bacon and smothered in Jack Daniels BBQ sauce. :)

A somewhat strange combination of leftovers were had this evening.

Some had pasta with shrimp and scallops in a sun-dried tomato sauce with fresh basil AND others split two huge but very lean grilled pork steaks (which were even better re-grilled the day after) with freshly mushed guacamole and blue tortilla chips.

Just got back from our roaming bike night. We went to Dune Dog this week. Most of us went with a full rack of baby backs w/ double fries and sweet tea.

Wow, that is by far the most ultimate ice cream to have ever been created! There is an icecream place in Calgary that makes an amazing version of it. I will now be craving this for a long time.

If my Ben & Jerry's doesn't have enough chunks of whatever in it, I'll mix in creamy peanut butter and put it back in the freezer for a few hours. It freezes solid, then melts in your mouth as soon as it touches your tongue. You seriously need to try it if you love peanut butter!

It will be a sacrifice... but I will do my best.

are there any MaggieMoo's near you? In the Phila area there are a few and they have very rich, creamy ice cream, including a coconut cream ice cream which I get with roasted almost slivers mixed in it, and it's very excellent.



For lunch today I went to a new little Mexican taco joint...seemed very authentic, and everything was very tasty and fresh...I don't usually eat this much for lunch but wanted to sample a few things; so now I have leftovers, too.

On the left are two enchiladas...nice crispy fresh wraps around one beef one chicken; on the right are three tacos, again nice fresh semi-crispy wraps one grilled chicken, one Mexican sausage, one pork skin; washed down with a Jarritos mandarina soda.
