I am ready! Bring on the CHILI!
Okay. Over the years, I've grown a love for hot food. I love spices, I love peppers, I love anything that burns my tongue and makes me want to scream.
With almost all my food, I take hot sauce. However, recently, nothing does the trick anymore. Tabasco tastes like water, local habanero sauce tastes only mild. This brings me to my request. What's the world's hottest hot sauce? I want stuff that can be used as rocket fuel. Can anyone make any suggestions? |
You can't actually eat the world's hottest ones. They are collector sauces that are literally too hot to be safe to eat, as in they cause burns. Dave's insanity is one of the extreme ones that are till safe, and there's another popular line that I can't quite remember the name of, but has the word death in it. Their collector bottles feature wax tops with skulls.
Mo Hotta Mo betta would be a good source. Brain is not working at all this morning. I know there's another mail order source I used to use and can't remember it! do some googleing |
There are over 200 varieties of hot chiles (capsicum)...The hottest are the scotch bonnet, habanero, cascabelle, and hot portugal...Habaneros are very hot, but the hottest parts of the ripened chile is the seeds and the veins, which are usually removed to lower the heat of the pepper. Eat a fresh ripenened habanero, seeds and all, and unless you have a stainless steel stomach, you will find your heat.

Dave's Insanity.
reviewed: http://www.spicyhot.com/reviews/hs1107/ buy it: http://pyropepper.com/docroot/dave.html |
Dave's Insanity sauce is great, but he once sold me some stuff at a gun show that had a medicine dropper in it. It was the capsiacin (sp?) that had been extracted out of the hot peppers. We had so much fun with that stuff. One drop would spice up a whole batch of chilli. It also looked like melted chocolate, so we put it on our cookies at lunch to watch our friends choke after they stole them.
