Legend of Drunken Burger

Made this last night. It was beautifully wonderful.

Ingredients:
1/3 - 1/2 lb ground SIRLOIN beef
3 dashes Season-All
3 dashes Garlic & Onion Powder
spoonful crushed/diced garlic
spoonful olive oil
spoonful cilantro paste
1/4 bottle leftover red wine (any grape)
3 dashes chili pepper

Instructions:
1. Knead beef into hamburger patty, stopping 3 times to season it with Season-All and Garlic & Onion Powder. Make sure the patty is solid without any cracks.
2. Perforate both sides of patty with knife & place in bowl or deep plate.
3. Pour wine over patty and let sit.
4. Heat flat skillet on stove: high.
5. Place garlic, olive oil and cilantro paste in center of heated skillet.
6. Place patty on skillet when olive oil starts to evaporate. Let sit for 30 seconds on each side.
7. Pour leftover wine on patty. Flip patty frequently.
8. Sprinkle chili pepper over both sides of patty when wine is almost evaporated.
9. Cook over medium heat until desired rarity.
10. Serve on your choice of burger fixings.

Variation:
Spread thin layer of honey over patty when 75% done cooking. This makes it extra sweet and juicy.

seems like you could even use something like bourbon or whiskey and get a nice flavor off of it.

Yeah, but that only makes the burger a lot more expensive to make.

Hmm, I just may have to give the honey tip a try.

well yeah if you use a 1/4 bottle... but I think that just 1 shot may be just enough to caramelize the flavors and deglaze the pan.

This sounds really good!!

I know it says "any wine" but have you made this enough to have a preference with the wine that you use?

I am not a huge hamburger fan, but I have to admit that sounds very good.
