Apple Cake - HELP
My G-Ma makes the yummiest apple cake, but the apples always sink to the bottom of the cake. I know it doesn't make the cake taste any better but she wants to know how to keep the apples from sinking
THANKS for all suggestions. |
Toss the apples lightly with flour before adding them to the cake batter. The flour will stick to the apples and the batter, allowing the apples to suspend in the batter better.

Share gramma's recipe when you get a minute...

Get ready to roll grandma out of the kitchen and start screamin :surprised:
Who's your granddad! Apple cake 4 eggs 3/4 cup veggie oil 1 3/4 cups sugar 2 cups flour 1/2teaspoon each cinnamon salt nutmeg baking powder 1teaspoon baking soda 4 cups favorite apples (granny smiths for me) yea, peel them and chop them 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts cheaper) mix all with heavy spoon it will be way thick spray a pan with pam Push it into......:surprised: bundit pan, bread pans ( loaf ) whatever, Bake 350 nearly an hour don't be affraid the apples keep it moist. when it pulls away from the sides of the pan and a tooth pick comes out reasonably clean it is done. Let cool about ten minutes or two beers flip it out onto a rack to cool. Your grandma will love you and you can tell her this was passed down from the pilgrams to you via the titty board. I promise! |
