Substitute for ginger paste?

Hi all,

I have a recipe here that calls for ginger paste. I don't have any on hand, but I do have sliced ginger (in a jar) and ground ginger. I was wondering if it would be OK to use one of these as a substitute?

Thanks!

the sliced stuff in the jar is usually pickled...

However, ginger paste I think is just ground up fresh ginger - usually with a little coarse salt to make it really pastey...

Ginge Substitutions

1 tsp finely chopped fresh ginger subtitute 1/4 tsp ground ginger
