Toronto: A Night of Comedy?

I feel like going to see some stand-up or improv. Anyone want to join me?

Here's a link to Eye Weekly's Comedy listings chart:

Eye Weekly - Comedy Chart

A 9pm show or later works best for me.

I love comedy. I've only seen it live once or twice, so I'd love to go.

What day were you thinking? Is this open? Maybe we should have a look at specific acts?

I think Monday night at the Rivoli is a variety of comics. I've been before and enjoyed myself. It's also very cheap. We should go this Monday!

Sounds good to me!

We can meet outside at 8:45 or so. Baraka can you make it this monday?

I have to admit I'm also curious about Battleawesome Awesomestar. Back in the 90's there was a group called The Chumps that did a killer Star Trek show.

I can do Monday at 8:45, I think.

I'll let you know if I've forgotten something I'm responsible for.

It should be fine.

I'd also be down with something called Battleawesome Awesomestar. That sounds, well....awesome!

Sorry for the mix-up.

You do know that if you show up late you will be centred out for comedic lambasting.

Should we reschedule?

Ditto. I tend to do the kid thing while my Lady does the heavy lifting (writing, preparing talks, yadda yadda) so it takes a little bit of set-up. Actually it would be pretty cool if her schedule allowed both her and I to come to something like this, but again it all depends on the timing.

Have a great time, guys!

I guess the next question is: Can everyone do a Monday night at the Rivoli, or should we be shopping around for something else.

Let us know your restrictions/limitations.

Have a look at the link in the OP.

I'm busy until the end of the month at least. Starting sometime the first week of April is fine. I'm still cool with Monday night at the Rivoli, but I'm open to other things as well.

Now it's my turn to maybe crap out.

When I left the planning to our esteemed Mr. Guru, I didn't realize he'd be planning an evening so late. I have a job interview on Tuesday morning that I need to be somewhat fresh and presentable for, so a late night before is probably not the best idea.

Mr. Guru, I will call you at some point tomorrow to confirm whether or not I'll be attending this shindig, but if I do make an appearance, it won't be a lengthy one. I'm assuming the phone number I have for you is still valid; I'll PM it to you so you can confirm that, but the odds of me checking in before departure tomorrow are slim, so you should probably just call me if I need a different one.

I will speak with my sister, who's once again providing me with lodgings, to determine the viability of my being out. Both her and her fiance work on Tuesday as well, so I'd also like to not be coming in particularly late out of consideration for them.

We'll just have to play this one by ear, gents.

Well, Martian, I'm sure even an hour would be plenty of comedy to take in, so I hope you can make it. It would be good if we all got together, but I understand your concern. The interview if obviously important.

And, yes, fresnelly, we can meet outside.
