New York City - TFP Meetup! Friday, August 21st
 

Here's the deal - old school TFPer quadro2000 will be playing LIVE music at Wicked Willy's and our very own lovely little_tippler will be in town from Portugal, so we're going to combine these two events and have a little meet-up.

When: Friday, August 21st @ 7pm
Where: Wicked Willy's - 149 Bleecker Street (Thompson/LaGuardia)
What: Listen to Acoustic 80's songs (both rich and cheesy) and meet other TFPers while crammed in the back of a bar.
NO Cover and half-price drinks until 9.

quadro2000 (he wont be aware that we're even planning this, he probably forgot what the TFP is, but he's playing the music so he'll be there)

I would make the drive just to meet LT. Unfortunately I have a mandatory meeting that afternoon at 4pm in Ohio.

if the kids are with their father that weekend, this may just be a possibility!

Unfortunately, the closest to NYC I'll be anywhere in that timeframe is West Virginia, and I've got trips out west on both sides of that. Damn. I'd love to make it.

I would.. but.. uhhh it's a 10 hour drive.

I think I can make it. Gotta get through early August before I'm sure, but I'll do what I can.

No, she's been busting her ass in hospitals non-stop for the last year. To be honest, I haven't even seen them in over a year, just been keeping tabs on them through Facebook.

oh.. when I was talking to her a long time ago she was going to some south american country to do some medical work there..

eh.. maybe my schedule will magically clear and I can make it up there..

I wish I could just leave and go, but no money and three kids. I'm so jealous.

I'll be around NYC, unless I'm permanently out of this country before then.

No kidding. I'll be in town for a wedding. Problem is that the wedding is on the night of the meet up. Staying in SoHo, so might be able to stagger in post-reception.

I'm posting under my wife's account, since I've been off-board for 2 weeks and I don't want to lose the "unread" counts.

I'll be there tomorrow at about 7 (is the music starting that early?), and I'll be offering free back/arm/hand massage to any TFPer who wants it; just ask. And don't offer me a drink in barter, since I'm licensed in CT, not NY, and that would cause license issues. Free is free.

Holy cow, I'm actually posting on TFP. Obviously been a very long time. JustJess and I are doing very well, thanks so much for asking, everyone. As Halx said, we're both just pretty busy these days and don't have as much time to contribute as we'd like. Definitely have not forgot about what the TFP is. I promise.

Thanks so much to Halx, Cynthetiq, Redlemon and little_tippler for coming to our gig tonight. It was so wonderful to see/meet you guys. Hope we can do it again soon. (little_tippler, enjoy the rest of your stay here!)

quadro2000 gave us a great show, we were dancing to the music the whole time. We had drinks and later chatted, though the music was so loud we had to shout. We rounded the night off with some yummy Chinese food :)

Great to meet you guys after all this time. Sorry I had to run out during the Chinese food, but I only made my train back home with 1 minute to spare.

The gig was a lot of fun. Everyone who was within range on Friday and didn't bother to come is lame. I'm going to do my best to see another Acoustic 80s gig when another one is scheduled.
