PacNW in NOV

Yes yes .... yay for airline miles!

I am looking at crashing your side of the continent Nov 24-29.

About *THIS* close to buying the tickets, but I wanted to see who all would be free/willing to get together.

I will have a rental car, so have car will travel. My grandparents live in Bremerton, so I will probably be going north/south from there unless I get to continue my couch crashing ritual... I guess I should start getting a badge for every TFP couch I've been on :p

I plan to at least make a trip up to Van for the peeps up there ...

You guys made a PacNW meetup happen .. if you're free in that window, I will come down, be happy and merry and enjoy some time with friends.

Ace_O_Spades 08-24-2006 07:51 PM

I'm in Vancouver, I know more than a few others are as well... I'm open Fri-Sat-Sun

snowy 08-25-2006 12:13 PM

I will probably be just about 30 mins. south of Bremerton the 24th-26th, so you can definitely count on meeting up with me.

YAY!!!

Elphaba 08-25-2006 01:27 PM

Count me in! I can't wait to meet you. :)

amonkie 08-25-2006 01:31 PM

Ok - just wanted to make sure there were going to be at least my favorite ladies .. booking the tickets now.

Ace_O_Spades 08-27-2006 10:13 AM

I vote you pick them all up and bring them for some fun in Canada... but I'm from a highly biased position on the matter because I have no way of getting down to Washington :p

Take the train.

Ace_O_Spades 08-29-2006 01:57 AM

I am but a poor student with only enough money to occasionally visit home and my girlfriend on the island who I will miss terribly.

sadistikdreams 09-27-2006 07:32 PM

I'm gonna be working at bodies every saturday and sunday, come visit me!

streak_56 09-29-2006 05:45 PM

I could definately drive the 12 hours from Calgary for that... Hell... I might even convice my bro (feelgood) to come too!

amonkie 09-29-2006 05:53 PM

No definite plans yet so if someone has any feedback, suggestions, or time constraints/limitations, put them up here!

Elphaba 09-30-2006 02:52 PM

Saturday or Sunday (25th, 26th) is best for me for a Seattle get together. It looks like good days for Snowy, too.

streak_56 10-01-2006 05:35 PM

Saturday would be best because then it would let me get some time to get back home!

amonkie 10-01-2006 06:36 PM

Streak - are you shooting for Vancouver or Seattle?

My tentative Plan -
Fri (24th) - fly in, with my grandparents,
Sat (25) Vancouver
Sun (26) Seattle
Mon/Tues (27-28) - undetermined

The ONE Thing that I HAVE!!!! to do is go to Peet's Coffee and 1) buy coffee and 2) take a pic of me at the coffee place.

Elphaba 10-01-2006 09:45 PM

I'm there for the 26th. Where shall we meet?

streak_56 10-06-2006 05:22 PM

I'm shooting for where ever everyone is going to meet up... it would be quicker for Vancouver... and it would allow for time to drive back.

sadistikdreams 10-06-2006 07:10 PM

I'm working at bodies on the 26th... Hint hint...

amonkie 10-06-2006 07:50 PM

I can do two separate ... whatever works for you guys.

For the out of towners .. where will Bodies be?

I haven't spent enough time in Seattle on previous trips to know much of what to suggest - about the only place I've eaten in the general area was Henry's in Tacoma :)

snowy 10-06-2006 08:11 PM

I'll know more about my plans for that weekend next weekend--SO and I are taking the train up to my folks place, but we have to arrange with them when we are going up and how long we will be there, and I'm not seeing my parents in person till next Sunday. The other thing I have to consult with them about is deciding to get off in Olympia or Seattle.

amonkie 10-07-2006 08:38 AM

Let me know .. at this point I am planning to have a rental car with me, so that gives me some flexibility. I don't mind multiple meets depending on availability.

Ace_O_Spades 10-07-2006 09:17 AM

do you think you could take me when you go from vancouver to seattle? I need to be in seattle for that monday anyway :p Monday Night Football!!

Plus then I could hit both meets if you're planning on having two (van and seattle)

sadistikdreams 10-07-2006 09:53 AM

Bodies is at 800 Pike, across from the convention center in Downtown Seattle.

amonkie 10-07-2006 10:21 AM

Hehe .. thought you'd never ask! :p Yup, Ace, I can definitely do with a drive partner :) Do you need a ride back up to Vancouver Mon night? I remember you saying something about school that week as well ...

streak_56 10-07-2006 04:39 PM

Amonkie... depending on what you're doing I could see if I could do the multiple meets also... and then we can carpool to save money.

mixedsubstance 11-01-2006 09:50 PM

I am heading to Montreal the week before, but since I'll be back in time, it would be cool to meet up!

snowy 11-13-2006 10:36 PM

So I finally know my plans (roughly).

On Friday morning I'll be coming up to Seattle with my SO in tow. We get into King Street Station at about 12:30, and then plan on hanging around Seattle until 4 o'clockish, as we've got to catch the 4:20 ferry to Bremerton.

On Sunday afternoon we have to catch the train out of Seattle again at 5ish, but we can always catch an earlier ferry than planned if people want to meet up.

Our plans so far on Friday are to catch the bus up to Westlake and look at the tree and the other Christmas decorations that will be up. The other possibility, of course, would be to catch an earlier ferry and stage a meet-up in Bremerton or nearby on Friday. Though I'm thinking with the holiday traffic Sunday afternoon might be the better bet for everyone, anywhere.

amonkie 11-14-2006 04:32 AM

Snowy - my plane comes in at about 5pm at Sea - Tac on Friday afternoon - so I'll pretty much be out on Friday - my grandparents are picking me up at the airport and taking me out for dinner. :( for meetup, :) for yummy paid dinner

Saturday in Vancouver - I know I've sent fly a PM, and he's interested in gettin together - so you Van folks *cough cough Ace cough cough* ... what/where do we want to go? Low budget is always great.

Hey monkie,

We're free the 26th, sunday :) and of course, love to meet up with ya. As we talked about dinner at say 6 or whatever time works best for you, earlier or later is good.

how about the Spaghettti Factory downtown. It's right off of Elliott.

Old Spaghetti Factory
2801 Elliott Ave
Seattle, WA 98121
(206) 441-7724

I was going to suggest Trinity for dancing, but it's closed on sundays. So perhaps bowling afterwards? :) I'll figure out which bowling place is close to the S.Factory and I'll get the address up here in the next couple days.

looking forward to it Monkie :D

Anyone/everyone who can make it, i'd love to meet ya :D

sweetpea

Elphaba 11-18-2006 04:16 PM

The 26th is still looking good for hub and I.

amonkie 11-18-2006 08:27 PM

Spaghetti Factory Sounds awesome for the 26th, so does bowling - as long as no one laughs at me for bowling an <70 game and falling on my ass at least once, as I do every time (those floors are slippery suckers!!!) If we can squeeze in a game or two after dinner if we meet at 6, that sounds good to me.

So far, Monkie Travel Agenda -

Sat Nov 25 - Vancouver, possible attendees

Sun Nov 26 -Evening Dinner/Bowling

If people are willing to get together earlier, that would be better for us. We have to be at King Street by 4:30 at the latest to get reserved seats, so a late lunch would probably work for us, as we'd have to leave a restaurant by 4 to get to the station. Otherwise you'll have to count me out this time.

amonkie 11-18-2006 09:23 PM

I've got to factor in Drive time from BC ... anyone else need an earlier time?

so for a late lunch we're maybe shooting for 1-2 instead? Keep the feedback coming - I think 1:30 -2 would be the most realistic start marker for the southbound travel, since I don't know how busy the boarder will be, and it'll take a little time to get moving in the morning.

Sweetpea 11-18-2006 09:46 PM

earlier works for us as well. I've got the whole day blocked off. :) so whatever works, i'm open to :)

zed wolf 11-19-2006 05:01 AM

well, since I am new around here I hadn't really thought about getting in on this but what the hell, I'm in Bellingham so a visit to Seattle isn't that far of a drive. of course neither is Vancouver. So, sure, if I can make it and so far I don't foresee having any other plans count me in. I need to get out and meet new people and make new friends. I'll keep my eye on this thread for more info and concrete plans. feel free to pm me if any of you need any more personal info from me.
Oh, and thanks to Halx and the TFP myspace account for the kick in the ass to get me to join in.

Monkie, since you'll have 2 people in the car, you'll have a much easier time getting into Seattle with the use of carpool lanes. It usually takes me about 2 and a half hours to get from Vancouver to Seattle if the traffic is decent and the border isn't backed up too badly.

2 works well for us as then we can catch the 12:35 ferry out of Bremerton.

Sweetpea 11-19-2006 12:15 PM

2:00 works for us too. :)

zed wolf, the more the merrier :) looking forward to meeting you :)

hey monkie.........what time are you and Ace dialin' in on the 25th and where?

i'm gonna try and bring splck along too if he's in town that weekend

Ace_O_Spades 11-22-2006 11:10 AM

Plans are still totally up in the air... She's staying in a hotel on Burrard, so we can find any number of things to do. Any ideas?

Fly 11-22-2006 11:39 AM

hell Ace.i'm just a country boy.........don't hit the city often........haven't a clue where or what to do.

amonkie 11-22-2006 05:41 PM

Is there something half way between Burrand and you? I'm up for anything .. if you guys have a gig or a jam night goin, that's cool too :)

Fly 11-22-2006 08:07 PM

i'm about an hour or so east of burrard..........i'm sittin' basically right at the border crossing in sumas.........

actually....what crossing are you comin' up and going back down through?

there's probably somethin' close to the borders that i can get to easily.

i can just get on 0(zero) ave and fly...........

let's keep yappin' here.

where are you at Ace.......near any border crossings?

amonkie 11-22-2006 08:13 PM

No idea where I'm coming up precisely - haven't mapped quite that far :)

From what I gather .. Ace is in Burnaby. Basically i'm heading from seattle to that area of Vancouver.

I'm right near SFU in Burnaby.

There's a comedy club in the hotel she's staying in, we could check that out?

She's also within walking distance of pretty much everything downtown that is entertaining.

zed wolf 11-23-2006 06:26 AM

Let me know if anyone from my area (mountvernon) is interested in carpooling to the Seattle meet. I don't get down that far south very much and wouldn't mind riding along with someone else. I wouldn't mind driving and having others ride with me either, especially if that someone had more of a clue about where we were going then I would!

amonkie 11-23-2006 08:54 PM

zed - I'll be coming down your way as I'm going into the seattle area -but i'm camping out for a few days before venturing north again - I could have you follow me in if you're worried about getting lost ...

i'm hoppin on the plane tomorrow morning, will have my laptop so as I get access, I'll check in here for updates.

For Saturday 11/25, Vancouver Crowd - I'm up for anything. Those of you in the area have a better idea than i do, so Ace and Flyman - keep the details coming, i'll be up in the area mid to late afternoon. Anything we'll do will be fun, since the company is outstanding :)

Sunday - Spaghetti Factory it is, with bowling for interested parties afterwards. I'm going by the times in this thread - if you're coming in late and wanna have someone to touch base with, PM me a contact # for ya, and I can give you a buzz - yay for free Long distance, Verizon!

Ciao,

monkie

Sweetpea 11-23-2006 10:23 PM

Haven't been to this particular bowling place, but it looks fairly close to where we're eating on the 26th (sunday)

here's the website:
http://www.sunsetbowl.com/
address:
1420 NW Market Street - Seattle, WA 98107
206) 782-7310

:)

so, anyone who's interested in bowling afterwards or who can't make it to our early dinner, but still wants to meet up for bowling, go ahead and pm me for times and contact stuff. :)

Looking forward to seeing you all :D

Fly 11-24-2006 10:40 AM

and i'm absolutely no good for sunday as we always are in the studio.........only free day us 3 dads get eh. :D

*crosses fingers*

Ace_O_Spades 11-24-2006 01:02 PM

We'll probably be downtown Fly, so maybe you can pm a number we can reach you at if you haven't, and we'll let you know what's going on when we figure it out.

Yay planning!

zed wolf 11-24-2006 02:32 PM

Amonkie, that would work great having someone to follow, let me know what time you are going be through the area and I'll meet up with you somewhere neer the freeway. If you are just driving through on your way back down south The cook road exit would be a good spot to meet up at the texaco station.

Sweetpea 11-25-2006 05:44 PM

For the S. Factory early dinner tomorrow.

We'll meet in the waiting area. I'll be wearing a green shirt and jeans.
If you get there a little late, I'll put the party under the name Ashley and let them know we're expecting others. So never fear if you're like me and show up late to things sometimes :D hehehehe

any questions, pm me for more info.

snowy 11-26-2006 11:22 AM

The weather here is not great, so I'm hoping it's a bit better in Seattle.

We will be seeing you all in a couple of hours at the Old Spaghetti Factory! I'm looking forward to it, and I hope the weather hasn't been too hard on any of you yet :)

Elphaba 11-26-2006 11:23 AM

We woke up to 2-3 inches of snow this morning and I don't *do* snow. (Too many ditches in my past)

I was really looking forward to visiting with Snowy and her SO again, and meeting the other tfp members coming.:(

see you then.

SpikeQX99 11-26-2006 05:32 PM

So, That's been scratched.

Hope everyone had a good time though!

zed wolf 11-27-2006 12:29 AM

Thanks to everyone that was there, I had a fun time, Even the drive down from mountvernon in the snow. The drive home was almost a disappointment, no snow on the roads at all until just outside of mountvernon. Hell, I did 70 all the way up until marysville.
I'll defiantly do it again!

~mmmmmm! Cute girls!~

Ace_O_Spades 11-27-2006 01:54 AM
