Comcast's monopoly = same price, less channels

Here in Chicago, Comcast is pretty much the only choice for cable television. I'm paying for what they call "Expanded Basic" service. But now Comcast is planning to move the Sci-Fi Channel to a more expensive service without lowering my payments. I know they have a monopoly, and they can pretty much do anything.

But is there anything I can do to try and stop this? Has anyone had success stopping a cable company from doing something like this? I watch the Sci-Fi Channel all the time, and I can't imagine having to pay for crap-ass channels like Nick Games and Sports and Jewelry Television just to watch a station I've always gotten.

Dear lord I wish the FCC would stop these companies from becoming monopolies...
