It sounds like he just decided to take a break due to the pressure, which is what we all initially thought before the mental hospital rumor appeared. As far as I can tell, this doesn't mean that Season 3 is coming any time soon. That's still going to be delayed for a while. But it is good news to hear that he is relatively ok.

it crossed my mind that this "mental hospital" he reportedly joined might be nothing more than a day-spa, or something stupid like that. maybe he was just super-stressed out and needed to get away.... i guess it's not surprising for the media to pretend that that means that Dave has "mental problems."

That's awesome. It would have really sucked if Chappelle really had a mental health or drug problem. His comedy is just too great.

Sounds like the man needed some time away with himself, gather up his thoughts, and making sure he's staying on track. Good for him.

/damn media had to report rumours of drug addiciton/asylum - meh..

I don't know why anyone would be angry. The guy took a vacation to get focused or whatever, and the media gave it a big spin. I don't even think it was Chappelle's idea as a publicity stunt, the media did it for him.

It kind of reminds me of the stories where people win the big lotteries (10 mil and up) and because they don't have a strong inner circle, they end up worse off than before they won. I think he just realized that things were getting out of control, and he did something about it. Good for him. I can't wait for things to get back on track and get the 3rd season going.

Oh and the thing about the white sneakers. If that wasn't a joke, he does sound a little obsesive/compulsive...
