You should all watch this movie. I came into it expecting a "film noir" and was pleasantly surprised with a movie that made me laugh more than anything else. Definitely the standout moment for me was when Spoiler: Gittes continuously slaps Evelyn Mulwray and she says "she's my sister!" *slap* "daughter" *slap* "sister" *slap* and so on. I'm not entirely sure if it was supposed to be funny, but hell if I didn't laugh. By then I'd figured out what that meant, but it was still an enjoyable twist when she spelled it out for me anyway. It felt a bit long, but the good parts were so good that they made up for the length.
