Ok. You got me on that one. They are all alike.

brandon11983 01-08-2004 08:10 PM

What did everyone think of SmackDown tonight? The only match I found worth watching was the Hardcore vs. Show Street Fight at the end. I always love matches like that due to the utter chaos and tomfoolery with the weapons and all. I laughed during the Nidia vs. Tagiri match. I wish it would have been longer.

brandon11983 01-13-2004 12:03 PM

*crickets chirping*

Where is everybody?? I didn't see much of Raw last night. I did see the Batista vs. D-Von match. It didn't seem to drag on as much as matches usually do. Seemed almost one sided, with Batista controlling the whole match. Usually they go back and forth a few times.

'Now c'mon all..... lets get this thread hopping again!!!!!

rockzilla 01-13-2004 01:39 PM

I've missed the last couple of Raws and Smackdowns, but I did catch most of Raw last night. You can tell Jericho's going to be a full-fledged face really soon. JR seems to love him now.
So V1 finally got some TV time, and for what? A Goldberg squash!? Couldn't he be doing something like criticizing Jericho on his lack of Mattitude, maybe getting Christian to join him against Jericho?
I'm getting tired of watching long segments where HHH and Michaels talk about how they go way back. But I did like seeing Coach get superkicked out of nowhere.

Ganguro 01-13-2004 03:14 PM

i thought the HHH/HBK segment was well done. Sure we all tire of seeing Trips talk for long periods of time.. but when watching that segment did anyone else get the feeling that they broke character a teeny bit? Like nwhen Hogan was feuding with mcMahon before he turned into Mr.America.. I got the feeling that "oh, maybe i shouldnt be watching this.. it's too personal"

Pretty good stuff.. much better than Goldberg and BPP talking.. ugh.

My gf loved the RVD match.. it wasnt a spotfest like i thought it would be.

holtmate 01-13-2004 03:52 PM

I have always liked the HHH/HBK confrontations. They know each other so well, and they put on a great show together. I can't wait for their match at the Rumble. Ther rest of the PPV doesn't look too bad either.

Has anyone heard any truths/rumors about the return of 'Taker? I figure he'll be back for WMXX, I just hope he'll be dead again.

brandon11983 01-13-2004 05:49 PM

That's better!!! I liked the Goldberg/V1 match. But then again, I like Goldberg. A dead 'Taker return would be awesome. Haven't heard any news on it though.

Prophecy 01-13-2004 05:58 PM

Taker is rumored to be coming back at Wrestlemania. He is currently supposedly growing his hair to come back as The Deadman. :)

As for RAW I thought the RVD/Orton match was good, hell it looked to me like Orton really got his brains scambled in that match...

Yeah, you can hear a definite "thunk" when his melon hits the ring post. It was an excellent match, and it had me on the edge of my seat.

evilbeefchan 01-14-2004 01:39 AM

I haven't watched RAW in a few weeks, but the Orton/RVD match was one of the most entertaining matches I've seen on RAW for a long time. (I'm killing myself for missing the HBK/HHH match) I think Orton has improved leaps and bounds since his debut, and that match only drives the point home even more. Instead of looking like some mid-carder going through the motions, he and RVD put on a totally original match that had my attention all the way through.

Gotta love Orton's crazy glare right before he ~SMASHED~ RVD's head into the canvas, too. :hmm:

Does anybody have an idea who was in the "Mystery Limo"? Could have sworn it would have been a swerve, but nothing came of it. The crowd would have gone absoluety crazy-go-nuts if Foley popped out, though.

ChrisJericho 01-14-2004 02:38 AM

Jericho going face? Oh no... not again. I need to quit my job, I miss RAW. :(

Vilkata 01-14-2004 03:08 AM

Man, I thought Orton was done for when he took that head shot at the beginning of the match. Glad to see he was able to come back and put on a damn entertaining match. That DDT finisher was devistating.

I'm still scratching to my head as why the last we heard about the Foley thing was the scene of the limo arriving.

Jesus Pimp 01-14-2004 05:35 AM

Anyone going to Royal Rumble next Saturday? I'll be going with some friends. I can't wait. I used to be a wrestling fan when I was younger so i figured I should go to a wrestling event at least once in my life before I die.

gduventree 01-14-2004 04:58 PM

Actually, now that I think about it, Jericho turning face might not be such a bad thing after all. There seems to be a lack of strong faces on Raw right now, and Jericho is pretty good as a face when he has lots of heels to mock.

On the other hand, part of me hopes that this is the greatest swerve in the history of professional wrestling. Just think:

- Jericho and Trish hook-up
- Jericho convinces Christian to be a friend and support him, because this makes him happy
- Jericho says he has a big announcement he wants to make in front of the whole world
- Trish and Jericho are in the ring, with Lita & Christian off to the side
- Jericho gets down on one knee, and says...

"I WIN!!!" and demands that Christian pay off the bet. Christian is at first shocked and dumbfounded, then starts laughing and bowing to the master. Trish is reduced to tears and storms out of the ring with Lita.

To me, this would be the essence of Chris Jericho and my secret hope for how this storyline turns out. Mind you, Chris Jericho turning face wouldn't be so bad, either.

meanSpleen 01-14-2004 07:41 PM

Spanky Quits!

He asked to leave the company, and it was granted. (Like they would say no)

What I've read so far is that he would most likely return to MLW or ZERO-ONE where he previously established himself as a star. It will be sad to see him go, as he was one of the FASTEST cruiserweights out there with talent.

psicon 01-14-2004 10:05 PM

Randy Orton got a minor concussion not from the ring post, but from a RVD kick to the head on the outside of the ring. It was a potato shot that RVD is known for.The bump on the outside ring post was a pretty decent blade job I thought he hit too hard also. It's good to see he is finally living up to his hype and position in Evolution.

That doesn't suprise me. Spanky has A LOT of talent and the WWE has done nothing but bury him. He could of been a fantastic cruiserweight champ, but they chose not to push him. Just another great wrestler WWE has done absolutely nothing with.

Prophecy 01-15-2004 10:45 AM

Does anyone else remember the current Chavo and Eddie storyline from their WCW days? If I remember correctly that storyline ended with Chavo beening mentally unstable and that's how they explained Chavo's attacks on Eddie. All in all it's to bad they broke up. Los Guerreros coming out in the lowrider together was cool, besides they are my favorite tag team.

As for Spanky, I've never seen the guy in action. Has he been on TV?

Oh, and Spleen it's good to have you back in the thread.

He was on a few times. I remember him a bus boy gettting whooped by The Undertaker, and as a streaker wearing a scarf. He was in a few matches, always losing if I remember correctly. I found to be very entertaining, did have talent, but as has been said, the WWE didn't do anything with him.

Anyone know any news on Zach Gowan? Haven't seen or heard anything on him in a while...

Prophecy 01-15-2004 06:02 PM

The last thing I read about Zach said he had problems backstage. It seems his ego got out of hand from working with Hogan and other big names right off the bat. Supposedly he's being kept off camera to cool down.

meanSpleen 01-15-2004 07:45 PM

I'm always around, its just a matter of getting my fingers to do what I want them to do. ;)

Spanky was to Smackdown as what Stevie Richards was to Heat (ITS STEVIE NIGHT HEAT!!). Spanky was one of the mildly featured performers, along with Ulitmo Dragon, Paul London, Jaime Noble (notice a pattern?)

For the past few months, he has had NO storyline. It was just, "the match". That was it. Nothing else but that. Somehow the writers just couldn't fit him into anything else.

ROH, MLW, ZERO-ONE, will all use him better than WWE did.

rockzilla 01-15-2004 08:00 PM

Shame to hear about Spanky leaving, but his talents were being wasted, as it seems to be with most of the cruiserweights, like Spleen said.

I didn't catch most of Smackdown tonight, but I did watch the Benoit/Cena/Heyman bit after the main event (Rhyno was in the main event? I guess he's out of the dog house now). Seeing Benoit put Heyman in a sharpshooter while Cena fed him soap is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time.

I remember the WWE making such a big deal about the coming of the Ultimo Dragon, I was never impressed with his moves, and the WWE hasn't done much with him since he's been around.

rockzilla 01-15-2004 08:40 PM

So, I'm watching the Smackdown replay right now, and they seem to be hyping this WWE Originals CD pretty hard. That's great, cause I know that every time I see Rikishi in the ring, I think "Sure, Rikishi's a great wrestler, but what I really want is to hear him sing!"

.... Wait a sec, I don't think that at all.

Ganguro 01-15-2004 08:51 PM

In all seriousness,I'm actually kinda looking forward to hearing Cena and mysterios songs..
also Kurt Angle's..Yes, im one of those fans who has ring music cd's..im so ashamed...

*hangs head in shame*

evilbeefchan 01-15-2004 10:55 PM

The "soap" that Cena fed Heyman looked a lot like a giant bar of tofu. I think Heyman would have preferred the soap.

And to rewrap them in the original packaging, then repeat the process on the 5 other bars. ::shrugs:: Still good.

bonehed1 01-16-2004 04:48 PM

Anyone here actually buy that CD? I know of one person that has and I have to make fun of him because everytime I go to his house its on....its hilarious how he loves that cd

I probably won't buy the new one.

Yeah, didn't that end up with Chavo having a pet toy horsie. It had a name, but I can't remember it right now.
Eventually someone put his pet horsie through a wood chipper. I think it was Perry Saturn, but maybe I'm it getting confused with his "Moppy" gimmick.

MOOOOPPPPPPYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found it so funny to see a tattooed brute like Perry Saturn running around with a mop. Not to mention neglecting Terri....

meanSpleen 01-17-2004 12:19 AM

If you think about it, most people would ignore/neglect Terri. She's really low down on the "good looking in WWE standards" lineup of *cough*divas*cough*.

She's 3 feet tall, her butt and her waist are the same size, which are also the same size as her head. And she has two water balloons that were filled with cement stapled on her chest. She definitely looked better in her Marlena days with Goldust.

==========

Oh yeah. And the bits and pieces that I have heard of the Originals CD (don't ask), it sounds a whole lot better than the Macho Man CD that I refuse to listen to.

The answer is ................ PePe the horse !!

I can't remember who actually killed Pepe but I do know that jericho kidnapped him at least once. :D

Ah the good ole WCW days........

DownwardSpiral 01-17-2004 11:56 PM

Yes, gotta miss ol' WCW

Prophecy 01-19-2004 03:55 PM

LOL, I forgot all about the Horse bit. WCW did have some great moments, personally I miss The Four Horsemen. However, the bit with Double J trying to join the Horsemen with Mongo was pretty stupid.

Vilkata 01-19-2004 10:36 PM

Wow, so Goldberg is number 30 in the rumble. Hopefully that means he won't be winning.

My pick for winning the rumble is Rico :D

Prophecy 01-20-2004 09:41 AM

I predict HBK wins the belt from HHH. Orton wins the Rumble, Orton beats HBK for the belt, HHH wins the belt back when Orton lays down for HHH.

Seriously though, I'd like to see Y2J win the rumble, but he's mostly going to wind up feuding with Mark Henry now. I pick Kane wins the rumble only to get screwed out of winning his title match by the return of the Deadman.

JohnnyRoyale 01-20-2004 10:00 AM

I'd believe that there's too much of the Foley vs Orton line (love those commercials)...I can see Foley showing up & smacking into Orton "unexpectedly" at the Rumble...

I've heard that HHH wants to work a match with Orton, I can see Orton winning the title, but I can't see a repeat of the Nash/Hogan "Finger Poke of Doom" match. I'd guess that Orton would refuse to lay down for HHH.

I'd like Y2J to win as well, but he's got too many other storylines going on right now. He'll probably fued with The Worlds Stankiest Man on TV for a bit, and probably wrestle Christian at WM20.
Which reminds me, Edge is scheduled to return at or right after WM20, and there's talk of bringing him to RAW. I could see Jericho/Edge vs. V1/Christian happening at Backlash (it is a RAW ppv right?)

Also the fact that she's a mommy is a turn off for me.

Kaos 01-21-2004 08:48 AM

I just found out that Crash Holly died back in November! It was in a small article in a WWE wrestling magazine and had a bunch of wrestlers saying what they thought of him. But the article never said how he died.

Anyone know what happened to Crash?

Prophecy 01-21-2004 09:07 AM

I'm not sure what I happened but I think I read somewhere that he overdosed. :(

ChrisJericho 01-21-2004 07:08 PM

Yeah, I saw that memorial thing but I don't know how he died. I do remember him being laid off by WWE though... perhaps that triggered it.....

i actually was a big fan of Crash's back in the day of him being the 24/7 hardcore champ. Do you guys remember when the APA attacked him in his hotel room and he was wearing Pokemon Pajamas? Or how about when Jericho called him Elroy Jetson? Priceless moments!!

evilbeefchan 01-21-2004 09:46 PM

Supposedly it had to do with him having a reputation of being a big drinker, and overindulging himself one night and never waking up the next morning.

I think he had just started working for NWA:TNA as Mad Mikey, with the "Pre-School Rope Walk" (Undertaker's "Old School," done on the bottom rope) as one of his signature moves. I never saw any of his TNA matches, but does anyone know if he got any good pops from the crowd?

I always loved how he and Hardcore carried a scale to the ring, claiming to be super heavyweights, and that anyone under 800lbs wasn't in their league.

meanSpleen 01-23-2004 11:36 PM

Oh man... I just gotta post this:

http://www.wextremew.com/starcrew.htm

WEW - Womans Extreme Wrestling.

HAHAHA

Holy crap this looks horrible. Even if it has some semi-big name talent there too (Francine, Gorgeous George).

What gets me the most are the horrible names and gimmicks I forced myself to read, while trying not to wake up the entire house by laughing.

You have such wrestlers like:
G.I Ho
Pune Tang
American Cream Pie
F.B.I Full Breasted Italian
-and- "Missy, The Hardcore F'n Schoolgirl"

It gets worse when you start reading some of the "bios". (All bios come with breast sizes for those wondering)

Its mostly a waste of time, but still pretty funny. ;)

Prophecy 01-24-2004 09:01 AM

okay, is that a wrestling league or pro am porn site?

meanSpleen 01-24-2004 12:04 PM

I was watching Fox Sports Atlantic on digital cable. Joey Styles was doing promo work for "King of the Cage", a UFC type federation. It was a pretty lame commercial that showed like... 14 people watching the matches (like when W.O.W (women of wrestling) was being shown on Network stations). So I take it as a "real" league. Just... yeah.

UNCENSORED VIDEOS XD

genstylez 01-24-2004 02:07 PM

=====

I haven't done this in a while, so here goes:

SPLEENS PICKS FOR WWE'S COBRANDED PPV - THE ROYAL RUMBLE - BROTHAAAAAAAAAAAA....

(match list is according to royalrumble.wwe.com, not neccessarily in the order of the actual ppv which is happening tomorrow)

1) Hardcore Holly vs. the Defending WWE Champion Brock Lesnar.
Right. They are going to give Holly the title. HAH.
Winner: Lesnar with no broken neck.

2) HBK vs. Defending Heavyweight Champion HHH.
For once, I am rooting for HHH. I mean, HBK has his moments, but his silent praying to God everytime he enters the ring, and his S&M attire as we walks down the ramp? Please. Kill me. Besides, he really isn't that good a wrestler anymore, not that he ever was.
Winner: HHH with a sledgehammer.

3) Chavo vs. Eddie in a Guerrero on Guerrero match.
Go away Chavo. I used to think you were interesting. Now you just take up space. Eddie will murderlize you.
Winner: Eddie Guerrero

4) The Royal Rumble
Now, for what should be obvious reasons, I'm hoping the V1 Hardy, The Hurricane, or Shelton Benjamin will win the Rumble and go on to challenge (and win) one of the World Title belts. However, when I come back to reality, I don't really have a good chance of any of the three winning. So after semi-careful pondering of the subject, I came to my answer. But you will get to read that after a mild-long winded diatribe on why everyone else won't win.

Kane - Eh, no one really likes him anymore, and he hasn't done anything on RAW lately.
Kurt Angle - We all know he's not 100 percent, so he can't risk injuring himself anymore than he already is
Booker T - Just like Kane, only people like the Book
Goldberg - HAH
Chris Benoit - He's going in first. Only 2(3 really) people have ever gone in first and came out last. Bret Hart (i think), Shawn Michaels (not really sure), and the British Bulldog (he was number 2 in the Rumble... then again I think I could be wrong on all three of these guys). The odds are very much against him.
Scott Steiner - re: Goldberg
Billy Gunn - He's back? He's just going to get injured again, so why bother.
Christian - I'm having too much fun watching the Y2J/Trish/Christian triangle unfold. I can't risk anything to not see it come full term :)
Rikishi - 2 Phat. Not interesting anymore.
Chris Jericho - Re: Christian
Shelton Benjamin - PLEASE LET HIM WIN. Its not going to happen, but hey, I can hope
Mark Henry - He will lose 14 more pieces of hair in the ring.
Charlie Haas - Shoo, go away.
Rico - Will spend most of the match rubbing up on the other guys
Nunzio - SQUASH
The Hurricane - re: Shelton Benjamin
Big Show - Re: Goldberg & Scott Steiner
Spike Dudley - He will win... another concussion
Matt Morgan - Too green. Still suxx
Matt Hardy - Re: The Hurricane & Shelton Benjamin
Tajiri - Is and always a cruiserweight
Test - Well, Steiner IS in the rumble... nah
A-Train - Re: You know who to look for
Rene Dupree - The only good member of La Ouisistance. I should update my Favorite Wrestler list soon, he's going to be on it.
Ernest "The Cat" Miller - DANCE DANCE DANCE, DISCO INFERNO... YOU SUCK
Randy Orton - Evolution... its time for a showdown. I want Orton to have a good solid feud with someone for a few months (3 PPV's) so I can actually see how good he is. I'm not seeing it yet. Oh yeah... Mick Foley drags him over the rope and onto the floor.
Bradshaw - Not enough Steam.
Rob Van Dam - heh, right. WWE loves this guy.
Rhyno - GORE over the top rope and onto the floor

If you haven't guessed yet, the winner will be the one, the only John Cena. YOU CAN'T SEE THIS.
Winner: Cena when he floors Goldberg and Chris Benoit.

5) Dudleys vs Defending Tag Champions Evolution (flair/batista) in a Tables match
Hmm... could be close... but I think Evolution will hold the titles until WMXX.
Winner: Evolution when they send D-von through a table

6) Jaime Noble vs. Defending Cruiserweight Champino Rey Mysterio.
It should be a great match, possibly the best of the night (ignoring the obvious #1 match, The Rumble). Tons of spots, good back and forth... Nidia will be involved somehow, but:
Winner: Rey Mysterio, when Nidia realizes that her eyes were closed, and she was able to see the entire time.

Prophecy 01-25-2004 08:11 PM

The Royal Rumble

Quick results on who won and how.
----------------------------------

World Tag Team Championship Table Match
"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair & Batista vs. The Dudley Boyz

Batista then gave D-Von Dudley a spinebuster slam through the table to end the match.
Winner- Evolution: Flair & Batista

Cruiserweight Title Match
Jamie Noble vs. Rey Mysterio

Nidia tripped Noble up and Rey Mysterio knocked him into the ropes and then hit him with the 619 and the pin.
Winner- Rey Mysterio

Singles match, 1 fall
Chavo Guerrero vs. Eddie Guerrero

Anyone feeling froggy? Eddie gave Chavo Guerrero a series of suplexes and then went to the top rope for the frog splash. Three count and the match is over.
Winner- “Latino Heat” Eddie Guerrero

WWE Title Match
Hardcore Holly vs. Brock Lesnar

F-5 need I say more?
Winner- Brock Lesnar

World Heavyweight Championship Last Man Standing Match
Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels

Triple H hooked Shawn Michaels in the Pedigree and planted him with it and Triple H fell down to the mat and the referee started the count and Triple H got up at the count of 6 and Shawn Michaels somehow got up at the count of 9. As Shawn Michaels got up, he nailed Triple H with Sweet Chin Music and then Michaels fell right back down to the mat and the referee counted to ten, counting both men out of the match.
Winner- Draw…

The Royal Rumble

There is just to much to tell unless you see it. In the end Chris Benoit came out on top...

But I will mention two highlights well for me anyway :)

First

Quote:

Kane got in the ring and he gave Chris Benoit a choke slam and then Matt Morgan kicked Kane in the gut and went for a power bomb but Kane powered out of it. Kane then gave Matt Morgan a choke slam and Matt Hardy went for the side effect on Kane but Kane countered it with a side walk slam.

The buzzer went off and some Undertaker music (the old stuff) hit and the lights went out and as Kane went nuts, Booker T dumped him out of the ring. Spike Dudley then came out and Kane met him on the ramp and gave him a choke slam, thinking he had something to do with the Undertaker's music playing throughout the arena.
Second

Quote:

Test's music hit in the arena as one of the entrants and he never came out. We cut to the backstage area where he was down and out and officials asked for a trainer because he's knocked out. Stone Cold showed up and asked if Test would make it to the Rumble and the officials said no and Stone Cold demanded that someone go to the ring and that's none other than Mick Foley! Mick Foley came out to the ring and he and Orton exchanged blows and the fans heavily chanted "Foley, Foley!"

Mick Foley charged at Randy Orton with a clothesline to knock himself and Randy Orton out of the ring with both men touching the floor at the same exact time. Despite the fact that they were both eliminated from the match, Mick continued the beating on Randy Orton on the outside of the ring. Mick tossed Orton into the announcer's table and then he grabbed the steel steps and WWE officials tried to stop Foley but Foley nailed an official in the head with the steel steps to knock him out. When he turned around, Randy Orton nailed Foley in the head with a steel chair and the two brawled towards the ramp. Mick Foley brought out Mr. Socko and Nunzio came out as the next entrant and Mick Foley gave him Mr. Socko and then Randy Orton gave Mick Foley a low blow to break the hold. Randy then went to the backstage area as Nunzio stormed to the ring for the Rumble.
The Winner- Chris Benoit and according to the announcers he's only the 2nd man to ever go "coast to coast" to win the rumble.

DownwardSpiral 01-25-2004 08:37 PM

After watching the PPV tonight, I liked some things, but others I didn't. For one, I was upset that Flair and Batista are still the Tag Champs, they need to give the belts to a team who deserves them. I would have much rather had a winner in the Last Man Standing match, but it was good. And I'm glad that Benoit won the actual Rumble, he's finally getting some credit in WWE it seems, and it's about time, I think.

Prophecy 01-25-2004 09:36 PM

I think Evolution will have the tag titles till Wrestlemania to draw out their feud with the Dudley Boys. I predict the Dudleys get them back then. :)

Edit: I'm suprised the HHH vs HBK match didn't have a clear victor. The crowd sure seemed to hate the ending.

Vilkata 01-25-2004 10:01 PM

Man, wish I would of gotten to see the PPV. I read some results and the rumble sounded great. It helped advance the Taker/Kane story along with Foley/Orton, Goldberg/Lesnar and Jericho/Christian.

Things I'm shocked about:
First off the HHH/HBK ending. Is the new Rumble curse going to be that anytime HHH is in a title match, that match will have a bullshit ending?

Noble/Nidia: I'm shocked they didn't wrap up their angle yet. Guess we get to see more of punching bag Nidia

Now, my prediction for the Road to Wrestlemania. I'm guessing that there will be a huge trade between the brands. Benoit for Goldberg. Why? Bischoff hates Goldberg, Heyman hates Benoit. Bischoff wants the main event at Wrestlemania to be Raw, Heyman would kill for the star power of Goldberg. Perfect story line :)

They planted the seed nicely by having the backstage interaction betwen Brock and Berg, and also Brock giving the F-5 to Berg during the Rumble!

Here are some pics I took at the Royal Rumble last night

I was fortunate to go last night and took some great pics with my digital camera. The first pic is kind of grainy because I was adjusting to the lighting in the arena. These are just 13 out of 184 pics I took.

The seed was actually planted back at Survivor Series when the two had a little backstage run in segment. They just continued it here. Should be an awesome feud :)

evilbeefchan 01-27-2004 12:02 AM

Wow! Great pics, Pimp! What kind of camera were you using, and how far away were your seats?

And thanks for the correction, Vilkata. I totally forgot Survivor Series ever happened. =P

Prophecy 01-27-2004 12:03 AM

Nice pictures Jesus Pimp. I'm kinda jealous now, I only got to see the Rumble on the boob tube...

Vilkata 01-27-2004 01:32 AM

I didn't get to see Rumble at all. My job calls for me to come in at 10pm on Sundays, so I don't even get to go watch it at the bar without missing the main event. :(

rockzilla 01-27-2004 02:20 PM

I was gonna go over to a friend's place to watch the Rumble, but illness kept me from going anywhere that wasn't a 5 second dash away from my toilet, I better not get sick for WMXX!

JoeyB 01-27-2004 08:36 PM

Fantastic photos! I wasn't able to watch it.....I knew the HHH/HBK match was brutal, but look at Shawn's face!!!! That's Dusty Rhodes work right there.

bigbad 01-28-2004 02:50 AM

Great shots Jesus Pimp, I only got to see the clips they showed during Raw.

Thanks! I have the Sony DSC-f717. It's has a sweet wide angle lense. My seat was 2nd level seating. It was exactly the closest but I got a really good view of the action.

Prophecy 01-30-2004 12:15 AM

Smackdown was great tonight. I figured Eddie would win the rumble. Speaking of which I have to say the Royal Rumble was the highlight of the show. And I loved the way all the wrestlers stopped fighting each other and teamed up as soon as the Big Show's music hit. :) Anyone think Eddie has a real shot at getting the title?

rockzilla 01-30-2004 03:39 PM

I'd like to think Eddie could win the belt, but I'd be surprised if Vince wanted him as champ heading into Wrestlemania. I think that Eddie and Angle could put on a killer main event at WMXX, but I have a feeling that Goldberg/Lesnar will be Smackdown's main event

brandon11983 01-30-2004 07:53 PM

How bout everyone's thoughts and feelings on the upcoming Torrie/Sable Playboy? I am looking forward to it, but would be much more excited to see something with Trish and Stacy. Torrie and Sable are hot and all, but we've seen them already. Give someone else a chance!

Man, the Royal Rumble-esqe match on Smackdown was awesome. Good up and down, back and forth. I was suprised they let Shelton last as long as he did. I mean... he lasted almost the entire time (sorta).

Gee... ChrisJericho... I really liked the OLD Walls of Jericho a whole lot better than the CURRENT Walls of Boston Crab. Why don't you go back to that? I mean, guys can still get out of it. Its not as insanely impossible to get out of like th "Brock Lock" (you can get out of that too. It just takes some effort)

For those who haven't seen this travesty of a move yet, the Brock Lock is Brock, taking a guys leg, and putting the Knee pit (the joint behind the knee, just like your Elbow pit) behind his head and holding it there while the guy being held is wrapped in front of him and pretty much being sat on by BLesnar.

Not a pretty move. For the most part, its just Brock squeezing his neck like a walnut with the guys leg.

Edit:

Does anyone know if there is any truth to the WWE building their Cruiserweight divison and perhaps re-signing Jeff Hardy?

I could care less about Jeff Hardy returning, because he isn't THAT special in my mind.

But we talked about that before. I don't feel like doing it again (GO MATT!).

---

I would love to have the Cruiserweight division be bolstered with some more talent. But if that doesn't happen, I would love to have some decent storylines that don't involve solely Rey, Jaime, and Taijiri. I mean, they have 4 other wrestlers who can do it (Ultimo, London, Nunzio, and Shannon), and they do it well. Storylines don't have to involve the title, and many of the best don't even have the title as a part of the plot. Take Stone Cold vs. VinnieMac. We can all attest that any match where they are the two participants was HORRIBLE. But it was the story between the two that ultimately brought the WWF/E to good graces with the professional wrestling fan community.

We also have Undertaker/Kane. Two monsters who put on a decent match for guys of their size and ability. It wasn't that deep of a story, but we all enjoyed it because:
a) The dead undertaker was and is cool
b) The Masked Kane was and was cool (no typo)
c) PAUL BEARER.

where was i? Oh yeah, the Cruiserweights. We need more CWeight matches and stories on the main show, Smackdown. Give them some face time, let them build their characters. Don't make every match a cruiserweight vs. bigshmo and have a squash.

Prophecy 02-01-2004 12:22 PM

Speaking of cruiserweights I finally caught Velocity this week. It seemed like everyone on the show was a cruiserweight: Shannon Moore, Ultimo Dragon, Taijiri's henchmen, etc. Is that normal?

meanSpleen 02-01-2004 01:22 PM

Yes. The main event on Velocity is usually a cruiserweight matchup. All the other matches tend to be between unscripted wrestlers and jobbers from local promotions and others being "tryed out"

ANYWAY - She had to be wearing Pasties. I mean, WWE has certain things it has to follow, and one of them is a no-intentional full boobie showing during their shows. Sure, Jackie and Jaquelyn have popped out of their shirts many times, but it was purely intentional. SO I deduced that she was in fact wearing pasties to protect the WWE from numerous "OMG YOU SHOWED MY KIDS A BOOBIE AND HE'S ONLY SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD SO THATS TOTALLY STATUATORY RAPE AND I"M GONNA SUE YOUR A$$".

----

Oh yeah, before she flashed the guys in the ring... she popped out of her shirt at ringside, and I didn't see any nipple. XD

She broke her collarbone (suprise suprise) in a match a few weeks ago. She's in recovery, and is expected to return near mid-year.

JohnnyRoyale 02-02-2004 08:02 PM

So they put Stacy with Jackie as a duo for Playboy? Nice to think about...veeerrryy nice...*pant* :)

*ahem* sorry. Know it's not happening. Anyway, is this the new Stacy line? She's going to be attaching herself to rico, working the playboy pair thing, then get into a fight with Jackie...just in time for WrestleMania? Kind of limiting.

Vilkata 02-03-2004 02:14 AM

After watching Raw, I just have one comment

THIS IS BULLSHIT

How can they fucking set the Wrestlemania main event up for a Triple Threat match?!?! They might as well just of made Benoit job to Henry. Stupidest decision ever. The main event has always been 1 on 1, unless there wasn't a 'clean winner' in the Rumble. Just when I was really proud of WWE for giving Benoit a great push, they totally ruin it.

Okay, my rant is pretty premature, but I swear the only reason HBK should be in the main event is if he wins the title from HHH before WMXX.

[/angst]

side note: I'm getting tired of listening to Jerry Lawler do his thing on RAW... Currently, Das Coach is more entertaining than him. JR just isn't interesting anymore either.

ChrisJericho 02-04-2004 04:15 PM

Good lord..... could you imagine Stacy in playboy? Jackie isn't bad either, but Stacy is just so damn hot.

meanSpleen 02-04-2004 08:25 PM

Here's my idea:

Since most of the wrestling sites are spouting the praises of Sable and Torri (SMACKDOWN) as the twin playmates to appear in the same magazine, were have a conflict. The sites say those 2. But Stacy and Jackie (RAW) seem to have the most steam on television. Guess what that means. FEMALE TAG MATCH FOR THE PLAYBOY SPREAD. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

good god... I hope its not at Wrestlemania XX ;)

Kaos 02-06-2004 05:25 PM

Sable and Torrie in Playboy again for the tag-team??

They are hot, but dammit. Get a new pair of WWE Divas in Playboy. I was so disapointed it wasn't Jackie and Stacy. Especially Stacy.

:(

SpikeQX99 02-06-2004 07:56 PM

Ahh... Stacy... wow! What else can you say about her? I don't think she's got the sleaze factor down yet to do a playboy angle, she just seems too sweet for it.

Now Jackie on the other hand....

I got tix to Smackdown this tuesday in Tacoma so we'll see if torrie and sable look decent in real life.

DownwardSpiral 02-08-2004 09:25 AM

For those of you that care, lol, Zach Gowen has been released from his WWE Contract. And yes, although Torrie and Sable are good looking, Sable has aged just a little bit, and I would personally have looked forward to seeing two women we haven't seen in Playboy yet. I'm also not really liking the idea of putting HBK in the WMXX match w/ Benoit and HHH, I'd rater see HBK go at it w/ the winner o that match at the RAW PPV after or on RAW or something, I think it would work out better that way.

I would agree, Sable is still really hot though. Me the super sleuth found 4 of their new Playboy pics!! I posted them on the TB here.

ChrisJericho 02-08-2004 12:48 PM

I almost didn't recognize torrie next to sable in those pics because of all the eye shadow.

Vilkata 02-08-2004 10:32 PM

Yeah, Torrie didn't look like herself in a lot of those pics. Anyways, those pics were nice and all but I'm still holding out for Trish, Lita, Miss Jackie and Stacy to pose. And Victoria. Victoria is my dream girl. :)

evilbeefchan 02-10-2004 01:25 AM

So Shawn Michaels' fued with HHH (which was supposed to have ended at the Royal Rumble), supersedes Benoit's winning of the Royal Rumble, which was supposed to guarantee a title shot at WMXX? If we follow the storyline, shouldn't Michaels be completely out of the title picture, since he's dropped the ball numerous times before? And shouldn't they be pushing Benoit as a giant threat to the title, instead of having him knocked out by Michaels so easily? Shouldn't Benoit have retaliated that night, instead of having Bischoff make a match for NEXT week?

DownwardSpiral 02-10-2004 08:27 AM

The feud did not end at Royal Rumble because the match ended in a draw. Benoit always gets fucked over, so I'm guessing Triple Threat now at WMXX. Michaels can't be out of the picture due to Steve Austin telling him that if he wants another title shot to 'so somthin' about it!' Benoit and Michaels' match probably won't have a winner next week, Triple H will most likely get involved, which I think will lead up to the Triple Threat. And that's all I've got for now. Oh yeah, who else thinks Benoit always gets fucked over in his title shots? Lol.

DownwardSpiral 02-10-2004 08:43 AM

one of those "you loose, you quit" matches?

DownwardSpiral 02-10-2004 11:51 AM

Dunno about a 'Loser Leaves WWE' match or anything, but the rumor states that from the way it looks now, he may leave. I've also heard that Brock Lesnar said if he could make as much money doing something else as he doeswrestling, that he'd leave WWE. Keep in mind these are rumors, though.

brandon11983 02-10-2004 03:12 PM

that would really suck. I would hate to see my man Goldberg get his ass whooped by Brock. Brock is a little bitch.
