Evolution pulled a WCW on us Monday night.... gee anyone smell a 6 man tag for next week?

Kazic 07-15-2004 08:36 PM

1000 posts? man thats nuts.

evilbeefchan 07-20-2004 10:34 PM

Do you think Orton will get the title back and how soon? And I LOVE his new shirt!

Holy crap! Nobody probably cares about this, but Rosey finally has a new costume!! About a year too late, though. I think it would've gotten a bigger reaction if they revealed it after showing those S.H.I.Training videos.

I'm really looking forward to the HHH/Benoit Iron Man Match next week! Both men are in great shape, and they will for sure put on a hell of a match. There'll probably be outside interference from Evolution, as well as Eugene. Oh well.

brandon11983 07-21-2004 10:19 AM

Triple H in good shape? He definitely seems to have chunked up recently. When he came back off his injury a year or so ago, he was mega cut. He doesn't look as impressive now. Maybe its because he is always next to Batista. He looks downright flabby next to my man Batista.

And Rosey looks great in his new costume too.

I guess I like the toned down HHH more than the super muscle bound HHH. I figure that all that muscle had to limit some mobility in the ring, which could have an influence on how smooth the match can go. Of course, I have no idea if any of this is true, but it sounds good in my head.

And Batista is indeed a behemoth. I'd love to see him take control of Evolution. Seriously, the way he was booked against Benoit on RAW, it would make sense if he started to develop an ego, saying that he did to Benoit in 10 minutes what HHH couldn't even do in 45.

wrestlerdiva 07-21-2004 10:34 PM

Ok guys but you have to admit when it comes to being super cut you gotta go with my man Cena. I mean he's built without being huge like Batista or Brock

True. Batista is the man! He did mop the floor with Benoit. Rather than take control of Evolution, I'd like to see him and Orton lose that excess baggage and either go their separate way or even better, form a tag team! I hate the both of them with Evolution, but love them apart from it.

In order to be a great wrestler these days and get anywhere you have to have great mic skills and get people to pay to see you.

Orton I think stands a good chance at that, in a few years he could be the next Rock.

Batista though, I don't see having good mic, he's there to beat people in submission. My call is Batista stays a mid tier guy (or tag teamer) and never truly advances. He may get a shot here and there at something but I don't see him holding anything very long.

It's like Benoit, the reason McMahon took so long to give him the belt was noone thought Benoit could handle the mic.

McMahon looks for the mic guys that can pull people into a storyline, HBK, Hogan, MachoMan (OOOOOO Yeah), Austin, The Rock, even Triple H. McMahon's looking for the next one. Again Orton maybe in a few years but Batista never will.

There's only one wrestler who lacked mic skills and has been around forever and that's Mark Calloway, The UnderTaker. But he sold his gimmick and developed a great base.

The 2 wrestlers I think McMahon has shit on and has totally ignored their talent and fan base are RVD and Jericho. Those 2 wrestlers have it all the mic, the in ring, the charisma, the great fan base that can make them babyfaces or heels in a heartbeat.

Let Jericho and RVD loose and those 2 could become as big as HBK. I could definately see Jericho being as big as anyone ever in the WWE. RVD works a little on the mic skills and cuts down the hardcore he'd be killer boxoffice. RVD I could see becoming the next Flair.

But I also think Jericho is happy where he is, wrestles a bit but has a soft schedule and can be Fozzy. I think he doesn't want to go much further than where he is.

RVD just gets shit on. I love the guy but for some reason McMahon keeps him in the background and buries him in stupid stories that go nowhere. Might be RVD is bad lockerroom politics/attitude or the big guys like HHH and others are keeping RVD down so as not to lose what they have.

I think very soon we'll see RVD in TNA and shining bright.

Bobaphat 07-22-2004 10:27 AM

The few times that Batista has had a chance to speak, I think he has done a passable job. I would like to see him get a bigger push and start to develope a personality of his own away from Evolution, or even within it. As of now, he's still just playing the big and dumb enforcer role.

As for Orton, I can't stand the guy. Every time he has the mic I cringe. His line always sound rehersed and forced. He's a terrible actor and not that great of a wrestler in my opinion. He has a great body and is still young. I think that he has potential, but to compare him to the Rock on the mic is just plain wrong.

pan6467 07-22-2004 10:52 AM

Rock was not all that great at the mic either at first. I think I compared Orton mainly because they are both 3rd generation and Rock was horrid when he first started. It wasn't until he was with "Farrooq", Owen Hart and that group (can't remember the name) that he started to develop.

Thinking about it more Orton could be the next Curt Hennig (Mr. Perfect). He could be huge or he could flop. You are right though, right now, Orton is too rehearesed and needs to work on his mic energy and find something that works. I'm not a big Orton fan either , and there was only 1 Perfect. But considering who the WWE has right now Orton seems their best young shot.

ChrisJericho 07-22-2004 04:15 PM

Meh, I haven't really been impressed by Batista. He's just big and looks mean.

Jericho and RVD have in ring talent and charisma.

On a side note: what happened to Test and Scott Steiner? I don't miss either of them but I was wondering if they got fired or injured or what.

pan6467 07-22-2004 05:08 PM

Test has a neck injury expected to be out for almost a year. Steiner I believe was very disliked (attitude) in the lockerroom and thought he deserved more so he was let go.

Here's a good link for great WWE and all wresting info:

N.O.D = Nation of Domination

brandon11983 07-22-2004 10:29 PM

Looks like the WWE is bringing Heidenreich (sp?) back to the front burner. I saw a commercial for him during Smackdown today. It was very reminiscent of those that ran for Brock when he first came aboard. Man do I miss Brock. I loved watching him hulk Big Show up for a big F5!!

Ah yes, and that brings to mind one of the best bits WWE ever ran.

HHH was Rock, X-Pac was Owen Hart (with a very large fake nose), and the rest of Degen-X were other members of N.O.D. and they spoofed them. It was hilarious. All HHH could say was "If ya smell what the Rock is cooking... " X-Pac would answer, "Hey with this nose it's hard not smell it." Fucking hilarious, almost as funny as Foley in the hospital with Vince and Mr. Socko.

God why can't WWE do that stuff anymore? They need to add some real fun funny stuff.

I thought it was another guy they hired to play Owen, and X Pac was Mark Henry in a fat suit?

I miss Brock too. Especially whenever he'd give the F5 to cruisers like Misterio and Moore, where they would end up completing 2 full midair spins. And don't forget the Stretch Muffler/Brock Lock!

brandon11983 07-23-2004 10:24 PM

The Brock Lock... that was painful just to look at. BRING BROCK BACK!!

Here's a good rundown of the whole thing.

Thanks Evil, that brought back a laugh and some great memories of those Monday Night Wars.

It was
Owen Hart was played by Jason Sensation.

ChrisJericho 07-26-2004 11:02 PM

The ending of the Iron Man match was pretty good.

However the whole diva search thing was a tremendous waste of time. I muted the TV and made food.

Average_Joe 07-28-2004 09:31 AM

You really have to wonder if the whole Diva search is just a scam. I bet they already have the next Diva picked out, but they're just trying to get the T&A thing over. Sadly, it's totally turning off the audience, it seems.

brandon11983 07-28-2004 10:41 AM

Yeah, my money is on Carmella. It seems dumb to hire anyone else when an ex PMOY is among the ranks. The audience was booing everyone but her. I want her to win, so the stupid shit will be over and done with.

brandon11983 08-02-2004 06:39 PM

Upon watching RAW tonight, I noticed that Carmella wasn't as "active" as the others. She didn't seem to be shaking her stuff for the crowd like the others were. I don't ever remember seeing her work the crowd like the others. This makes me think its already been decided even more.

JohnnyRoyale 08-07-2004 03:26 PM

My money's not on Carmella. WWE probably hired her to pump up the ratings, otherwise she might take the whole thing a little more seriously.

Edit: THen again, if she KNOWS she going to win, maybe she woudln't try so hard?

holtmate 08-08-2004 02:47 PM

They are really wasting time on Raw with this whole Diva search...I'm enjoying the T&A, but how much would it have sucked to pay for Raw, and get two matches, and the Diva bit...

I just want to add that the Summerslam commercials are excellent, and I'm looking forward to next week.

ChrisJericho 08-09-2004 01:54 AM

I'm sick of all the fake boobs in WWE. We need more divas like Stacy Kiebler who are naturally hot.

brandon11983 08-10-2004 07:00 PM

I guess WWE called in reinforcements in the form of Randy Orton to help out the diva search. It appears to have worked, as the crowd booed Orton and cheered the divas when he came on. As I've said before, I want Carmella to win. She is the only one that appeals to me. I'm still convinced she won too. She didn't do anything during the "sell me an ice cream cone" skit. Everyone else was frantically whoring themselves out.

evilbeefchan 08-14-2004 12:57 AM

Spike is an awesome dickish heel! Gotta love the pie face shove! And for once, they were actually able to utilize the "wrestler goes up top and lands on lying opponent's extended boot" spot! Usually it's someone without a signature top rope manuever, who simply jumps and lands on his feet, while taking a boot to the kisser. Spike has the double stomp off the top, so London counters by sticking out his boot!! Brilliant! I may come off as sarcastic, but I was laughing my head off because it fit so perfectly.

Any early Summerslam predictions?

Kane/Matt Hardy: Death do us part
I'm hoping Hardy lets Kane win, so he can get rid of Lita. I mean, there was a chorus of boos when he signed that contract. Pretty much everyone in the audience wanted him to just dump Lita. Otherwise, he's going to come out looking more whipped than this bowl of meringue. However, he does have surgery coming up, keeping him off RAW for 6-8 months!! =( So I'll go big and say Shawn Michaels makes his return and decapitates Kane.

Edge/Jericho/Batista: IC title
Batista all the way baby!! I love all three of them, but I gotta go with the big Deacon. Push him with the belt as the ultimate monster, and really put over the belt strong. Unless if they have Edge turn and have him and Jericho fight over the strap for a while. I've been longing for an Edge and Christian reunion!!!

HHH/Eugene:
I've been trained to believe that HHH will never lose anything, unless it's a bare knuckle brawl with Regal. Eugene gets the pin after HHH suffers Regal's Revenge.

Orton/Benoit: World Title
I've been reading a lot of rumors and news all over the place, so my head is already accepting Orton as the new Champ. I would hate to see Benoit lose the strap with such a lame buildup to the PPV. So for the sake of a better buildup and a few more Hard Knocks DVD sales, Benoit holds onto the strap, and drops it at No Mercy in a rematch.

Dudleyz/Cruisers
With Spike's new turn, I'd like to see him get as much momentum in the CW division as possible. I say Spike pins Rey after some Dudley shenanigans, setting up 2 title matches for No Mercy.

Cena/Booker
I heard this was part of a "best of _" series, ala WCW between Booker and Benoit. I'll rush it and say Booker has a nice long reign, while Cena regroups and moves on to bigger things.

JBL/Undertaker: WWE title
I'm actually starting to dig JBL, as much as I hate to admit it. He used to be my favorite wrestler as part of the APA, and now with his new Chief of Staff Orlando Jordan, I see him keeping the title at least until No Mercy, and possibly building up his "staff." Chief of Staff OJ with the distraction, and JBL with 2 huge LARIATTOOOOOOSS~~~!!!!

ChrisJericho 08-14-2004 05:16 AM

If Bradshaw beats Undertaker... I will vomit.

pan6467 08-14-2004 07:31 PM

EvilBeef some interesting predictions, here's mine
+++++++++

Kane/Matt Hardy: Death do us part

I see Matt winning and dumping Lita, then going on a soul search (surgery) OR the very lame and usually very unsurprising, unoriginal twist of Lita setting Matt up and walking out laughing with Kane (ala Trish with Christian).

The first would be my preference BUT McMahon likes to go with what has always worked in the past even if it has been done to death so.... Lita turns on Matt, she's not preggers (just used that to get into Matt's head, and Matt gets "injured" and disappears.
====

Edge/Jericho/Batista: IC title

The rumors I have seen have Edge joining Evolution and Orton turning face so, another double cross prediction where Edge looks to be Jericho's friend, gets "hurt" then as Jericho is about to beat Batista Edge comes alive and beats the Hell outta Jericho then lies down for Batista and joins Evolution.
=======

HHH/Eugene:

I agree with you Regal comes back and beats HHH and helps Darsow... I mean Eugene. I also see Eugene getting hit in the head and becoming a genius. That would be another predictable twist but one I could stomach
====

Orton/Benoit: World Title

Easy prediction (if the rumors of Orton turning face are true), HHH interferes hits Orton instead of Benoit and sets up Orton's face turn and a Benoit/Orton rematch.

If the rumors are false then Orton wins with Flair's help, again setting up a rematch. But the twist is HHH expects Orton to lie down for him and Orton refuses thus Orton then becomes a face.... not much else can honestly help if McMahon is truly trying to push Orton as a star.
=======

Dudleyz/Cruisers

I agree with you... plus I truly don't find much to be excited about in this match.
=====

Cena/Booker
I can see Cena winning, Booker is looking to retire and work backstage as an agent and booker. So I see Booker losing and disappearing except for a few "filler" matches. Cena is another big bucks prospect and McMahon is cleaning out a lot of the old timers for the new guys so...
======

JBL/Undertaker: WWE title

Taker all the way. McMahon owes Big Mark Calloway bigtime for not leaving when everyone else went to WCW. People love the Taker and it gives him one last hurrah before he drops the belt to someone like Cena and retires.
====

There's my predictions and opinions.

I will say this the WWE needs this to be a big seller and really grab people because McMahon is in negotiations to renew his SpikeTV contract and unlike a few years ago wrestling isn't as big as when he first got there so he needs to get ratings up fast or face a big paycut in the contract.

Plus Ted Turner/AOL's no compete clause from WWE's WCW buyout ends at the end of this year and there is talk Ted Turner may buy up Jarrett's TNA-NWA franchise, which would again create competition for WWE and again, McMahon is not ready for it.

brandon11983 08-15-2004 08:10 PM

Well here are the Summerslam results:

from Rajah.com
Quote:

WWE SummerSlam
Toronto, Canada

WWE SummerSlam pregame show has begun and the action will be underway in the next 20 minutes so stay tuned to the site for the latest coverage. They kick off the event showing clips leading up too all the matches tonight, including Diva Dodgeball.

The fireworks start off and we are ready to get underway. J.R. & The King welcome us to the 17th SummerSlam and let everyone know that it is sold out tonight. We are next introduced to the Spanish announce team and then Michael Cole and Tazz. Bubba Ray, Spike, Devon make their way down to the ring.

Rey Mysterio, Paul London, Billy Kidman vs The Dudleys

Next out is Rey Mysterio, Kidman, and London. We are now set for the six man match to get underway. The match kicks off with the Dudley’s using good teamwork to take down Paul London. Spike hits London off the top rope and then distracts the ref, while Devon and Bubba work him over in the corner. The crowd begins to chant for “the tables”.

Spike tags in Bubba who hits a suplex and the a headbutt on the mat followed by an elbow. Kidman is able to distract the referee so that London avoids the three count.

Finally we get Spike Dudley and Rey Mysterio in the ring and Mysterio begins to pick him apart. He fights all three of the Dudley Boys will also working over Spike. Billy Kidman then gets in the action by hitting a flying elbow off the top rope. Kidman rolls Spike up for a pin, but Bubba breaks up the pin attempt. London then hits a dropkick on Bubba through the ropes and the double team work on Spike begins. Kidman goes up to the top rope and hits the shooting star press and nails it, but as he goes for the cover he is pulled outside by Devon.

The Dudleys crawl into the ring and nail Londone with a quick 3-D. That’s it and the Dudley’s win the match.

Winners: Dudley’s

Kane vs Matt Hardy

Next up we see clips of The Kane/Lita/Matt Hardy storyline, with Matt Hardy coming to the ring first, followed by Lita, then followed by Kane.

Both men go at each other, Matt mounts the first big offense with a twist of fate on the outside as the referee begins his ten count. Lita looks excited that Matt Hardy may actually win. Kane finally rolls into the ring and Matt Hardy hammers him with kicks to the chest.

This match ends very quickly with Kane nailing Matt Hardy with a quick chokeslam and a quick 1-2-3 for the win. Lita looks on in disbelief as she will now have to marry Kane. J.R. and King play it up as though the world has just ended as Kane exits the arena.

Winner: Kane

John Cena vs Booker T

Backstage we have an interview with Randy Orton, who is quickly interupted by John Cena. Cena then ribs on Randy about being so hot and thanks him for giving him such a great introduction. Cena then asks the crowd if Orton is going to win the title tonight and they respond with a “no”. Cena then hypes his match with Booker T before leaving.

Booker T makes his way to the ring next, followed by John Cena. Cena plays to the crowd abit before he is attacked by Booker T. Booker T takes control of the match and tosses him out of the ring. Cena is sent into the security wall and then back into the ring, but he has yet to go for a cover in this match.

Booker T has totally dominated Cena up to the point. Hitting move after move, but he has yet to go for a cover, as though he is trying to send a message to Cena. Cena does however get a quick rollup, but is unable to hold him down. Booker T then goes for an axe kick but no one is home and Cena lands a kick ot the face.

Cena tries to get up, but Booker T gets too his feet first and works Cena back down to the canvas. Booker T now sets up for the spinarooni.

As Booker T gets ready to finish off Cena, Cena dodges and nails the FU and quickly rolls Booker T up to take the first fall out of a five series.

Winner: John Cena

Backstage Eric Bischoff greets the new GM of Smackdown!, Teddy Long. Bischoff tells Long he will be surprised to see him as the GM of Smackdown! at Survivor Series because there have been so many GM’s to come and go. Long then tells Bischoff that he is going to try and sign Eugene and any other Raw Superstar who is tired of putting up with him.

Batista vs Edge vs Jericho

Out comes Batista, followed by Jericho and then Edge who gets a huge ovation because he is from Toronto. As the match starts, Edge immediatley goes after Batista. Batista is being hammered on by both Jericho and Edge, before they toss him to the outside and then face off with one another in the middle of the ring.

The crowd begins to root for Jericho moreso than Edge. Jericho is able to ground Edge to the mat and then hits a quick Walls of Jericho. Edge tries to get to the ropes but Jericho pulls him into the middle of the ring. As Edge is about to tap out, Batista rolls into the ring to break up the submission move.

Jericho eliminates Batista with a springboard and it’s now down to Edge & Jericho as the crowd starts to chant for Y2J.

Out of nowhere, Edge hits a huge spear on Jericho and gets a quick 1-2-3, just as the crowd was getting into the match. Another quick match.

Winner: Edge

Eddie Guerrero vs Kurt Angle

They show a vid recap of the Angle/Guerrero fued up to the point. Angle is first in the ring followed by Eddie. Eddie quickly gets in the ring and goes for an ankle lock, which is Angle’s move. He then hits a headlock takedown as both men try to take the advantage.

Eddie Guerrero capatilizes quickly and hooks on the ankle lock. Angle is in agony in the middle of the ring. Angle tries to get to the ropes. Angle somewhow is able to reverse the ankle lock and hooks it on Guerrero.

Angle keeps the ankle lock on for a good amount of time, before Guerrero is finally able to break the hold by getting to the ropes. Angle then sends Guerrero into the corner and hits a few knife edge chops. Angle drops Guerrero in the middle of the ring and hooks on a new submission move, but Eddie is able to break up the hold with a scratch to the eyes.

Kurt continues to hammer on Eddie. Eddie is bleeding from the eye. Also, Angle begins to unlace Eddie’s boot as though he is going to continue to work on the ankle. Out of nowhere, Eddie Guerrero hits the Olympic Slam. Both men are down now on the mat, but Eddie is really struggling with his injured ankle. Guerrero then hits a DDT and plants Angle into the mat.

Angle hits the Olympic Slam, but Guerrero kicks out. Angle looks frustrated. Angle then removes Guerrero’s boot and hooks on the Ankle lock as Eddie screams in pain. Eddie uses all his might to send Angle into the referee. The ref is out and Angle is down. Guerrero gets up and grabs his boot and nails Angle with it. He then goes to get the ref and go for a 3 count.

Eddie Guerrero’s eye seems to be injured, because of a thumb to the eye. It’s almost as if he is bleeding from the eye which you can see below. Angle hooks on another ankle lock in the middle of the ring after exposing Eddie’s ankle. Eddie tries to reverse three times, but cannot shake off Angle in the middle of the ring before he finally taps out. Eddie looks upset after the match.

Winner: Kurt Angle

Triple H vs Eugene

Out comes Triple H, as they recap the long history between him and Eugene. Then we hear Eugene’s music as he makes his way to the ring.

HHH begins to disect Eugene after hitting him with a huge back flip off the ropes. HHH quickly grounds Eugene and then goes to the outside and begins to clear off the Spanish Announce Table! He gets Eugene and tries to suplex him over the top rope and onto the outside, but Eugene is able to pull HHH back into the ring.

Eugene gains some momentum until HHH fakes a knee injury and Eugene looks concerned. He calls the referee over but HHH fools them both and sends Eugene to the outside of the ring. HHH begins to hammer on Eugene, but out of nowhere, Eugne hits a Rock Bottom . HHH quickly recovers however, following up with a spinebuster on Eugene. He then gets on the mat and goes on an all out assult on Eugene.

HHH takes Eugene to the outside of the ring and sends him into the steel steps. Eugene is then rolled back into the ring and HHH applies a sleeper hold to the already worn down Eugene.

Eugene battles his way out of the sleeper and hits a few right hands before nailing HHH with a “Stone Cold Stunner”. Eugene then tosses HHH outside and then back into the ring as the crowd gets behind him. Ric Flair is on his way to the ring.

Flair distracts Eugene as HHH tries to hook on a pedigree which is reversed and Eugene hits HH with a pedigree. Flair breaks up the pin and the referee tosses him from ringside.

Flair is leaving the arena when he is met by William Regal with brass knucks. Regal knocks Flair out cold and runs to the ring, but before he can get there, HHH hits Eugene with a third pedigree and wins the match. Flair saved HHH from the three count and in the end Regal could not get there in time to make the save,

Winner: HHH

Up next we have Diva Dodgeball. All the Diva’s are in bikini tops and the competition does not take place in the arena but takes place on a court somewhere else. The Diva’s are getting killed in this competition. It’s 5-2 with the hopeful’s winning. Coach is commentating the competition. Nidia is the last to get eliminated as the Diva Hopeful’s totally dominate the WWE Diva’s. However, all the ladies did look very very nice.

Winner: Raw Diva Search Ladies

After the competition, the Diva’s start to catfight with the Raw Diva hopefuls. Trish Stratus goes after one of the ladies, but the WWE Diva’s pull her back.

The Undertaker vs John Bradshaw

JBL trys to go on the offensive quickly, but the Undertaker totally dismantles him. He hooks on a quick armbar and then drives JBL down to the mat.

The Undertaker is pinpointing that left arm of JBL, by ramming it into the steel steps, then going up to the top rope and going “old school” with a blast to the left shoulder. The Undertaker goes for a cover, but JBL kicks out at 2.

With the help of Orlando Jordan, JBL is able to recover and now he singles out Undertaker’s knee. He grabs a steel chair and nails the Undertakers knee against the steel ring post. Undertaker somehow hits a boot to the face as both men fall to the outside of the ring.

Undertaker is hurting as he tries to limp to JBL but JBL takes out the Taker’s knee again. JBL gets Taker back in the ring and does an armbar rollover. Quickly, both men are back on the outside. JBL and Taker square off in front of the Spanish Announce Table and Taker hits a huge right hand to the skull of JBL.

JBL finally is able to roll back in the ring and mount some offense against the Undertaker as he once again goes to work on the Undertakers knee. Undertaker tries to go for a chokeslam, but he can’t support JBL with his bad knee. JBL again goes to the knee and then a spine buster. JBL goes for a quick cover.

The Undertaker now has full control as he hits a chokeslam, BUT cannot get the 3 count. Orlando jumps onto the ring.

JBL hits a huge clothesline from hell. Undertaker somehow kicks out. Both men go for a clotheslines and take each other out and the referee in the process.

JBL hits another clothesline from hell, but Taker kicks out. Taker then gets up and hits the tombstone but the referee is knocked out.

Undertaker now grabs the belt, but as he does, the referee comes too. He calls for the bell and DQ’a the Undertaker, who then snaps. He takes JBL down the aisle and clams into the car and windsheild, where JBL is busted open badly.

Winner: Undertaker

The Undertaker leaves, but then comes back and Taker takes JBL and chokeslam’s him through the roof of the limo. The EMT’s are now out working on a bloody JBL. As they walk out, Orland Jordan places the belt around JBL on the stretcher.

Randy Orton vs Chris Benoit

Orton makes his way to the ring, followed by Chris Benoit. The bell rings and both men stare each other down in the middle of the ring. The lock up with neither man gaining the advantage.

Orton wheels Benoit into the corner and breaks it cleanly after the ref steps in. They lock up in a Greco-Roman knuckle lock, where Benoit hooks on an overhand wristlock and a backheel trip.

Randy Orton hooks on the sharpshooter and Benoit struggles to get to the ropes. Benoit lifts himself up and tries to break out of the sharpshooter. Benoit counters the move and reverses with a sharpshooter on Orton and just as he gets the ropes, Benoit hooks on the crippler crossface.

Orton goes for a quick cover on Benoit and almost gets a 3 count. He then goes right back to work on Benoit’s already injured neck. Both men finally get up and have a mid-air collision and are back down for a 10 count. Both men try to get to their feet, but Benoit is first and lands some right hands and then a elbow off the top rope.

Benoit now is relentless as he hooks on a sharpshooter as Orton tries to get to the ropes and he is fading. Orton can’t quite get to the ropes as Benoit tries to pull him back, but Orton grabs the bottom rope. The damage has been done.

Chris Benoit goes for the headbutt off the top rope, but Orton blocks it with his knees! Orton’s mout is busted along with his face as blood begins to trickle out. Orton is still laid out on the ring. Orton goes for an inside cradle, but then Benoit hooks on the crippler crossface in the middle of the ring. Orton tries to get the ropes.

Benoit has it hooked in good, but Orton grabs the ropes. Benoit gets up and out of nowhere, Orton hits the RKO.

Orton rolls over onto Benoit and covers him. 1-2-3 & Randy Orton has become the youngest Heavyweigh Champion ever in WWE history.

Winner: Randy Orton

After the match, Chris Benoit comes back down to the ring and extends his hand to Randy Orton as the crowd boos. Then Orton shakes it after Benoit tells him “to be a man” and the crowd begins to cheer. J.R. comments at the class that Benoit just showed as he exits the arena and Orton celebrates his heavyweight title.

evilbeefchan 08-16-2004 12:11 AM

Man, I'm never good at these predictions. Oh well. The PPV sounds decent, although I'm still not even sure why they bothered with the Diva Dodgeball. They should've just taken those 5 minutes and added it to the IC title match. And I'm actually shocked, shocked I say, that Orton won CLEAN~! I'm considering ordering the replay, for that match as well as the Angle/Guerrero one. I'm hoping it's worth it.

pan6467 08-16-2004 04:02 AM

Except for the "taker match they all ended cleanly. (Although I didn't see the Dudley match).

My predictions weren't that far off. Cena won. Orton winning clean surprised me but now the face turn is definately happening.

HHH actually didn't have to blade himself for a match.

Biggest surprise for me was Taker looking BAD during the match and losing. He looked OLD, beat up and to me seemed to just go through the motions and didn't have his heart in the match.

Angle/Eddie G match was far better than I ever thought it would be. That was a match I didn't even care about but once it started WOW. Was probably my favorite for the night.

It was worth the $5, wings, unlimited soda, and shrooms at BW3.

brandon11983 08-16-2004 06:15 PM

Everyone wants to boot off Carmella, but Michelle took a hike. ha! I love it! I voted for her, because she is the only one that isn't a boring vapid whore. I like how Evolution dispatched Randy Orton. RKO did a good job of selling his disbelief when HHH gave him the thumbs down. I do like that they are going to turn him good guy this way, rather than have him be better than everyone else.

Himbo 08-17-2004 02:11 PM

WWE has again ruined a good storyline opportunity. The plan is to have HHH vs. Orton at this years Wrestlemania (9 months away). Now instead of tip toeing around Evolution turning on Randy over the next 4 - 6 weeks they go ahead and do it right away? What the hell. Pisses me off. That's why I don't waste my Monday nights watching anymore.

I agree, they used to draw it out and give little hints along the way and then at a PPV have the turn go full force and it kept you guessing and interested.

For HHH/Orton, I'd have had Orton in a few matches and HHH and Evo. interfere and cause him to win by interference and not on ability. That would get him upset and wanting to prove himself, while HHH keeps telling him he has the belt ONLY because HHH lets him have the belt. Then a PPV or 2 before WM have HHH and Evo come out to interfere and Orton instead attacks them with his opponent. This draws out the face turn and makes it more legit. Keeps fan interest because as the storyline builds you see Orton go through phases of doubting himself and then realizing he doesn't need HHH and Evo.

A big problem now is the WWE's writers don't know how to write storylines and draw them out. Everything happens now and if there's a problem they ignore it. It does get very predictable and boring.

But I also see the WWE's side and that is right now especially on RAW they lack a true face and Orton (like him or not) is getting good pops. I just think he needs a little more seasoning on the mic and he might be as big as Rocky or Austin. But nobody for a very long time will be as big or mean as much to wrestling as Hogan in his prime. If anyone thinks Orton can do that.....I don't think it'll happen.

holtmate 08-20-2004 08:40 PM

You know...with HBK coming back at the next PPV, maybe he can get involved in the HHH/Orton feud...I just hope HBK doesn't come back to take care of Kane. It would have been great if he would have interfered at Summerslam, but now it would be just plain BAD.
With all of Orton's boasting, I keep hoping that Rocky will come back to challenge him again...

JohnnyRoyale 08-21-2004 04:13 AM

HHH & Orton? Does this mean they're going to stop pushing Benoit?

brandon11983 08-21-2004 03:46 PM

Great, HHH is about to be back in the spotlight. I hope that HBK comes back and kicks a lot of ass. The Rock too.

**edit** As much as I love to see the Rock, he did look a bit shoddy on the mic last night. Looks like they brought him in to try to raise interest in the Diva Search, and help Carmella in particular. She still has my vote, aside from Traci, she is the only one that I find attractive.

brandon11983 08-27-2004 05:39 PM

Looks like my fave Diva hopeful is a pyscho hose beast. From Wrestinginc.com:

Quote:

In yet another incident involving Carmella DeCesare, she was involved in a wild bar fight last night at Tramp's Nightclub in Cleveland. The fight was reportedly over NFL QB Jeff Garcia.

DeCesare reportedly rushed Christin Hine, 32, and slapped her, before continuing the verbal and physical assault. After being broken up, the Playmate of the Year screamed "I'm going to kill you!"

And, yet, the incident still wasn't over. On her way out, Carmella stood up on a platform and kicked Hine in the head.

While the paperwork is only filed from the victim's point of view, a witness at the bar backs up the account. However, Carmella's lawyer denies the claims.

The woman was not hospitalized, but reports indicate this was not a one-time incident. Carmella reportedly called the woman several times leaving threatening messages, again, something Carmella denies.
I hope this doesn't mean that they are going to axe her for this. I know she doesn't show any talent or personality, she is the only one that is not a disgusting vapid whore. GO CARMELLA, DADDY LOVES YOU!

Corneo 08-27-2004 06:29 PM

The only problem I see with Carmella is that she doesn't do anything. Why everyone else is out there shaking their goods. She just stands there and waves. It really looks like she had no idea what she signed up for.

pan6467 08-28-2004 05:30 AM

Interesting. Just what 2 weeks ago Terrell Owens was saying in SI that the rumors of Jeff Garcia being gay were true. Now he has it sounds like 2 women and one happens to be a WWE Diva that hasn't shown any energy at all in the shows.

Now if I were a conspiracy theorist this would make for great fodder. Such as... The Browns want their star QB to look like he's straight, the WWE needs Carmella to show some energy and spunk..... what better way to do both then to have her fight another woman over him, in a Cleveland bar? Doesn't sound like any police reports were filed.

But that would be just toooooo conspiritorial now wouldn't it?

Siccx 08-30-2004 04:43 AM

My take on wrestling these days, for me it slowly began to die out, and I know the exact moment when I lost interest. Taz, now known as Tazz, after a string of looses, he decides to retire due to an injury and his lack of passion for the in-ring side of business. I'm a huge Taz/Tazz fan, and every time I think about what he could have been it makes me just a little bit more sad.

Under-appreciated, is what I basically think when I think back on his WWF/WWE career. Before that bicep injury that sidelined him the first time, he was in the middle of what could have been a great feud over the IC title with Benoit, he was slated to win it as well from what I hear, but that old injury got the best of him and he had to leave. But when he came back there was still a glimmer of hope, he began his "Path of Rage" making victims out of everyone, yet still no retribution against Benoit, instead he attacks Jerry Lawler, which brings Tazz to what he is today.

A commentator, an elite one at that, the best color man in the business, and I'm not just saying that cuz I mark out for the guy like it was going out of style. But because he is pretty damn good behind the mic as well. He knows what he is talking about and his presentation is all there. But still, I long for the day that I can see my favorite wrestler as champion once more.

It also slightly pisses me off that he isn't selectable in any of the future WWE games, Raw Vs. Smackdown for ps2 has him listed in the select screen, but you can't pick him, that's retarded. Day or Reckoning for Gamecube, he's not even in it, dammit all to hell, if they can put the Rock as a Legend they can put Tazz in those games as a legend too. Just throw him in there with his black singlet and towel over his head for his entrance and I'd be happy.

At least I got to see him march into Smackdown wearing the ECW title and get in HHH"s face (Tazz should have won that one too, it could have made him a main eventer...), also got to see him become a successful Tag Team champion with Spike (losing the belts to Billy and Chuck, I hated that.). Plus he's on TV every Thursday, but still, just think of what might have been.

On a side note, Tazz had the best debut, choking out an undefeated Kurt Angle, man, what in the hell happened, they made a big deal about him coming to the WWF with all the hype up promos, but they hardly used him properly...

brandon11983 08-30-2004 05:56 PM

Yay!! Carmella is still going strong. Maria flipped off my beautiful Carmella after her ass got booted. I'm watching this dis the Diva shit right now. Jesus christ! That was some nasty shit. Even my gentle virgin ears were offended with some of the shit those bitches were laying down. GO CARMELLA DADDY LOVES YOU BABY!

Reese 08-30-2004 11:13 PM

Seriously Carmella is a bitch, but she's a hot bitch.

I burst out laughing at something JR said during the little show. He said "this is too tense!" and I heard "this is two tits" I was rollin on the floor.

I think this whole Heidenreich thing is stupid. Paul Heyman called him "unstable and unpredictable" tonight. Doesn't anyone remember 6 months ago when he was John Heidenreich, acting like a starstruck fan following Stone Cold around? Maybe he had a breakdown or something? So he beat up on (probably) sub 200 lbs. Paul London, and chased Michael Cole around. Forgive the expression, but when are they going to have him pick on someone his own size?

I'm a big fan of Benoit and while it's a shame he's not wearing the belt anymore, it might not be such a big deal in the short run. I think WWE is experimenting with Orton, possibly considering him as the next Rock (though right now, I think John Cena is more qualified to have such a huge push). This would be a shame for Orton if he doesn't go over with the fans.

As for Benoit, I'd rather see him as a 5-time champion than just a 1-time champion with a great run (I don't think anyone's defeated Triple H so many times!), so he would need to lose the belt in order to regain it again and further improve his legacy.

Anyway, here's hoping for Benoit/Triple H for the Title in a future PPV.

i hear ya. :D they should have a battle of the Super heels for Wrestlemania, and the loser gets to retire (or as WWE defines it, is out of the spotlight for a few months).

a triple cage match between Kurt Angle, HHH, and, hmm... Vince McMahon? :D

Sick of him having the belt since the day he was handed it a copuple of years back. I wouldn't mind so much if he actually defended it, and when he does defend he needs help.

brandon11983 09-14-2004 06:19 PM

That baby killer shit was pretty funny.

evilbeefchan 09-15-2004 09:50 PM

I was kinda hoping Regal would get involved in the brawl at the end of Raw. I mean, he was having some heat with HHH, and I thought the Eugene thing would really take him over the top.

I heard that Jamie Noble and WWE have parted ways. Man, I don't even watch Smackdown anymore. Is JBL still champ?

Anyone play "Day of Reckoning" yet? It looks really good, especially for a WWE gamecube game.

brandon11983 09-15-2004 10:20 PM

Yes, JBL's dumb ass is still champ. I don't really give half a shit on what goes on on Smackdown now. This Billy Kidman is a sissy angle is retarded. I don't even not care enough about JBL to take time to hate him. Now, HHH, he makes it work and I absolutely hate him. I'll have to watch SD! tomorrow to see what's up with Jamie Noble (boooyy!!). Not that I or anyone else cares.

Spleenine where are you? Your Shelton Benjamin is back baby!!

I agree and I have no problem with him dropping the belt. It is just the quick drop down the card to be Eugene's replacement as a tag partner for Regal [who is another underused talent in WWE]. I'm just a fan of workrate and talent --don't get me wrong a good angle and some skill on the Mic is important...but still Orton jumping out of a cake?!?!?!?

I'm not sure how real the diva contest was but I have a pretty good feeling that Carmella was hired to make the contest more tense. Anyone agree with me?

pan6467 09-22-2004 08:15 PM

I think Carmella was supposed to win, but because of her legal problems in Cleveland and the bad press she could be getting, Vince realized she wouldn't be able to spend the time and that maybe she was more headache/headcase than he needed.

Why not take an unknown and mold her rather than a semistar who probably already has ego problems?

Just an observation.

frankx 09-23-2004 04:03 PM

I knew that Carmella was a ringer, but I like the redhead (Christy?) better. She seemed to have a lot more charisma and spunk than Carmella. I was thoroughly surprised that she won.

sad news to pass on

http://www.wwe.com/news/headlines/1277702

Quote:

World Wrestling Entertainment is saddened by the loss of Ray Traylor, professionally known as the Big Boss Man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Inside the wrestling ring, Boss Man was one of the most feared and respected Superstars of his time. Outside the ring, however, Traylor was a kind, gentle, charitable, compassionate family man. While his WWE persona was known for antagonizing others, the real Traylor stopped at nothing to put smiles on the faces of the children he would meet.

Traylor began wrestling in 1984. While serving as a prison guard in Cobb County, Georgia, Traylor caught the attention of a local Atlanta wrestling booker. After months of learning the ropes and paying his dues, Traylor was re-christened Big Bubba Rogers. Not long after, Big Bubba Rogers was in main events all over the country, serving as Jim Cornette’s bodyguard.

A few years later, Traylor traveled to Stamford, Connecticut, to meet with Vince McMahon. Shortly thereafter, the Big Boss Man was created.

As a member of WWE, Big Boss Man rapidly moved up the ranks to main event status. It was as the Boss Man in WWE that Traylor enjoyed his greatest success, facing off against many huge names – Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage and Andre the Giant.

Ray's spirit and warm nature will never be forgotten.

evilbeefchan 09-23-2004 11:42 PM

I hated Bossman as a kid and his last run in the WWFE (for different reasons of course), but I always hate to hear about stuff like this. I admit that I forget that they're still human, that I get caught up with the characters more than the people behind them. Thank you Mr. Traylor.

brandon11983 09-24-2004 07:05 AM

I liked him as a good guy when I was a kid. I was never too crazy about the big mean Boss Man. See you in the funny pages.

ChrisJericho 09-24-2004 06:01 PM

You guys remember the Bossman/Big Show feud? That was truly awesome. The best parts were when the Bossman drug around Big Show's father's coffin behind his police car in the cemetary during the funeral. And then Bossman went to the Big Show's Mother's house and interviewed her and his "mom" admitted Big Show was illegitimate.

"Ya hear that Big Show! You're a bastard and you're momma says so!"
(or something of that nature hehe)

Pure Comedy.

Or how about that time the Ministry hung him by his neck and raised him to the top of the arena. That was good times.

Oh well, maybe Bossman and Crash Holly are having a feud somewhere right now. :)

brandon11983 09-27-2004 07:01 PM

I remember laughing my ass off seeing the coffin drug behind the car!!

So I just watched Christy make her Raw debut tonight. I guess she isn't so bad after all. I really liked her spunkiness, which used to make me vomit. I wonder what they are going to do with Carmella? It would be hella boss if they kept her around too. Does anyone see a little Briana Banks in Christy?

holtmate 10-02-2004 07:03 PM

I still think that WWE should have kept the Bossman around, just to have him drag someone's relatives coffins around. That would have made for great comedy.

CityOfAngels 10-03-2004 02:30 AM

Sucks to hear about Big Bossman. I was a big fan of his old-school run in the WWF.

Whatever happened to Shane McMahon? I remember when he was becoming the next high-flyer/self-abuser, doing stuff like RVD's secondary finisher (forgot what it's called, but he put Vince McMahon in one corner with a chair in his face, then he climbed the turnbuckle on the opposite side of the ring and drop-kicked the chair into Vince's face), and falling from scaffolds.

holtmate 10-10-2004 06:10 PM

I have to figure out how to get the Internet presale for RAW in Indy. Tickets go on sale tomorrow for the privileged few.

Does anyone know how the Conseco Fieldhouse does their presales? The Nutter Center just has a mailing list. I'm on Conseco's list. Hopefully I'll be able to get good seats, so I can bring a cheesy sign to let everyone know where I'm at.

Anyways, on to Taboo Tuesday...are they going to have online voting during the PPV? That sounds kind of lame. Maybe they'll have all of the seats in the arena fitted with buttons to voter there. Heh. I'm torn between HBK and Edge for the title, I want the lead pipe for Kane, and the rest, I really don't care, unless we get to vote on the Carmella/Christy match. I vote for XXX!

evilbeefchan 10-11-2004 12:34 AM

What was even better about the coffin bit was when Big Show actually jumped onto the coffin and rode it like a boogey board.

The only matches I'm excited about for Taboo Tuesday are Kane/Snitsky, Christy/Carmella and the World Title Match. But that's because I don't rememeber the other matches. Nor do I care, really.

holtmate 10-11-2004 11:36 AM

All right...I bought 4 seats to RAW in Indy. I know I'll be able to use two of them, and the other two were bought for people who notoriously opt out of them. So, I might have two tickets available soon.
If you are looking to buy tickets, they have a presale going on now, and the password is "insider".

Maybe they'll give the IC title shot to Shelton. I would love to see him with a belt.

Jared Jones 10-11-2004 01:08 PM

As for tag team, I like Tajiri and Rhyno, when they run into the ring is hilarious. Orton is one of my fav's.... someone gotta mess with evolution..... all they do is cheat. Fun stuff tho. I like the Big show and whats up with Carribean Cool or whatever, kinda weird if you ask me....

brandon11983 10-11-2004 06:10 PM

Did anyone see Raw tonight. The video was horrid. It looks like it was shot on a webcam by a team of imbeciles. The quality was terrible and the camera work was even worse. It made it hard to watch.

I saw some of it, the sound cut out a couple times and the picture was fuzzy. It was ok i guess, Evolution vs Benoit, HBK, and Edge was ok tho, Edge sucks tho.

evilbeefchan 10-29-2004 07:19 PM

Did anyone see last night's smackdown with Big Show and the new TE contestants? A lot of them completely no sold that slam. I mean, it's a body slam from the BIG SHOW~! Wrestling is fixed and all, but shouldn't they act like it hurt a little more? The initial reaction was more of a "wow, that was strong. Ok I get up now." One of them looked like he was trying to tense himself up, so it would be harder for Show to pick him up. It was neat to see him "rough up" the guys that talked the most trash, though.

1slOwCD8 10-29-2004 07:30 PM

Yea, i saw that when i was flipping channels. I havent really watched wrestling in a long time. I used to be really hooked on it a couple years back. Was that Mike "the miz" from the real world there as one of the contestants?

evilbeefchan 10-29-2004 07:45 PM

Yep, that was The Miz himself. I was really suprised to see him, and hope he's actually good in the ring so he can make it. I just hope the whole "Real World" thing doesn't go against him.

Ultimate_Gohan 10-31-2004 07:21 PM

Why is Kevin Nash and Scott Hall going to TNA? How long were those 2 guys on wwf, 2 shows. I like TNA but I don't like those 2. Granted, the story lines are not raw or smackdown but the X Division is really good with Pete Williams and AJ.

evilbeefchan 11-24-2004 09:58 PM

Man, I was seriously hoping for Batista to go out on his own. The crowd was actually pretty excited to see him face to face with HHH (whether they really wanted to see him win the belt, or just to have someone stand up to HHH is another issue). *sigh, one of these days.

Snitsky should always have a busted eye like that. He was even more scary lookin than normal.

ChrisJericho 11-24-2004 11:48 PM

I saw the HHH/Batista acting thing coming 15 minutes before it happened. Wasn't a surprise to me.

brandon11983 11-27-2004 01:34 PM

I was completely fooled by the Batista thing. I was mega pumped, bouncin' out of my chair to see him whoop ass on HHH! Oh well, back to the usual Evolution shit.

Bobaphat 12-09-2004 03:37 PM

Its going to happen soon enough. Patience children

brandon11983 12-12-2004 12:35 PM

I'm thinkin' so too.

holtmate 12-14-2004 02:56 PM

Prediction for the Elimination Chamber - HHH vs Orton, with Orton getting the win. Also, Trips will eliminate Batista to fuel the fire.

brandon11983 12-14-2004 11:28 PM

Or maybe Batista wins, HHH gets pissed, Batista realizes he doesn't need Evolution, Flair goes with Batista? That would be cool.

holtmate 12-27-2004 03:07 PM

I don't think that Flair would go with Batista. Flair has faked leaving Trips plenty of times, but he keeps coming back. The only thing I could see would be Flair leaving with Batista, and then betraying him at the next PPV during his match against Trips.

brandon11983 12-27-2004 11:16 PM

We can hope though, right? Me thinks Batista is going somewhere soon. 'Bout time they started using him to his potential.

is TE over now, who won? Puder?

Yup stupid Puder. Mike should have won. He's got the looks, talent, expierence, drive, ambition and most of all heart. He's the best.

I recently got my job shifted changed so I have nights off again and I'm happy to say I can spend more free time at night relaxed. Anyway, my main point is I now have time to watch the WWE again. But to be honest I'm completely suprised and confused at what's going on now...

Would anyone be willing to give me a lil back story on this up coming PPV with a 6 man Elimination Chamber match for the World Title? And two other things, why is Bradshaw the WWE champ and since win is RVD not only a tag team wrestler about a tag champion no less :hmm:

Prophecy, let me know if you need any more catching up...I've watched RAW pretty consistently. Smackdown is another matter.

There's a Stone Cold press conference this week...any ideas as to what's going to happen?

evilbeefchan 01-19-2005 12:34 PM

I heard it had something to do with WWE movies or something.

DownwardSpiral 01-19-2005 06:15 PM

The Press Conference is in regard to Steve Austin agreeing to do like 4 movies with WWE, and nothing more at this time that I know of.

ChrisJericho 01-19-2005 11:06 PM

I have no idea why Bradshaw is champ.
