Alone in the Dark, has anyone seen it?
I haven't read one decent review on this new flick. Has anyone seen it? Is it really that bad?
|
http://imdb.com/title/tt0369226/
I think that just about says it all. A movie is "okay" if it's in the 6 range, pretty damn good if it's in the 7s, and almost perfect if it's anything above that. Anything below a 6, I stay away from. This movie is 1.9! That's lower than Battlefield Earth. |
Tara Ried plays a doctor.....enough said.
Sorry to all those Tara Ried fans out there |
Rotten Tomato gives it a freshness rating of 1%. Do you know how bad a movie has to get panned to get a 1%? Anything under 60% is considered by them to be "rotten."
For some reason, this makes me want to see it. *edit How could it be a bad movie? Look at these awesome pics! http://images.rottentomatoes.com/ima...3/photo_02.jpg http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/alon...=lores&nopop=1 http://images.rottentomatoes.com/ima...3/photo_09.jpg |
I heard it was right down there with "Manos, the Hands of Fate" and "Plan 9 From Outer Space."
Then I saw it. Believe the hype. Remeber that it's directed by Uwe Boll, the mastermind behind "House of the Dead." |
Well, Uwe Boll had his website hacked and look at what they left behind:
http://www.uweboll.com/ Simple and effective, and most of all damn freakin' hillarious! |
I believe movies like these get made simply for the fact that some exec owes someone a favor...
It just baffles me how, in making a film like this, one could think, "Wow, this will be GREAT. People will LOVE this." ... especially if the one before it tanked big time. |
I have not seen a body getting chopped in half look that bad since Ichi the Killer. And there arent too many (if any) American movies that can live up to Takashi Miike's insanity/brilliance.
|
That site hack is brilliant!
Do we know if that actually used to be Boll's site? Or did someone else get the URL and post that? Excellent either way. EDIT: Update: Damn, it appears that Boll's real webpage is at http://www.boll-kg.de/ which remains unhacked. Still, that .com website is friggin' sweet. |
Mr. Boll did an interview with Film Force regarding Alone in the Dark back in November of 2004. Some highlights:
"The thing actually is, everybody who saw it really likes the movie, but it is a complicated movie." On where he's getting his feedback: "I tried to be in a dialogue with the guy… Right now, here online, AntoFreden, BobaFett38, FatGuy2, Melon5555. These are all people, they are online for horror [and] zombie forums… They are in contact with me, they are emailing with me. They are on my buddy list. I try to be in a dialogue with these guys because I am interested what the fans think." Reading some test screening cards aloud: "Just like Resident Evil except Alone is better," "The end with all the killings was a bit too long..." "There are many parts of the movie that make you think…" "If you like sci-fi movies, this is the one to see…" "This is definitely a comeback movie from Christian Slater, he's so great." I was really looking for a movie to go so. Guess I should stay away from this one...
|
The more people say how dreadful it is, the more i want to go and see it!
Despite the bad reviews, its got to be better than a J.Lo film... |
It's actually pretty good. Not a scary movie, more of an action. Much better than I thought it was going to be.
|
Storm, why would you bother going to see a movie when you could just stare at that ass all day long? *waves "hi" to Storm's ass*
