So, in the preview they showed airplane wreckage on the ground with the Presidential crest on it. Prez. may not be dead, but the plane is definitely in many pieces on the ground. Also, the "football" is stolen by random people.
Secondly, it is impossible for a F-117 to shoot down another plane. Even though they are called "stealth fighters" they have no air-to-air capabilities. They carry only air-to-ground guided bombs, and don't even have a cannon. But I still love the show. |
lets just say its a "modified" F-117 :)
|
Alright, so the president survived. Of course everyone around him is dead but he somehow made it through the crash. Maybe he used his dead sons body as a human shield, who knows.
What's up with the VP? His reaction when Mike told him that terrorists have our nukes looked a little too familiar...Maybe like our real presidents reaction to 9/11? "Duh...I don't know what to do so I'm not going to do anything." I wonder what's going to happen with that storyline. Maybe he gets killed and Palmer comes back? Not very likely but how cool would that be?? Then maybe he wont have to make any more lame insurance commercials. It must have sucked to be that couple that found the football! Then again, who goes camping to try to make a baby?? C'mon! At least they were well equipped when they walked the 50 yards to inspect what was burning. I don't think I would have had a compass, pen or a backpack to walk a few feet. Marwan is one slippery MF. How many times has he gotten away now? Under satellite coverage even?? They even had a chopper this time and they couldn't catch him! He couldn't have been that far off! Oh well, I guess I'm glad he got a way. There's a lot more show left! I wasn't too clear on what was going on in the preview for next week. Did they catch Anderson? Is that who the prez wants protection for? 7 Hours left! |
Why did the helicopter shoot both jeeps? Would it really have taken that much extra effort?
|
Quote:
I need to rewatch this episode... |
IT tried to shoot the jeep that jack told them to, but it missed (amazing how bad a shot these guys are) but got close enough for the jeep to careen out of control into the gully, and overturn.
Unfortunately, the helicoptor pilot was unable to pursue the second jeep. Maybe he was tired, or upset at his poor aim, but i bet if the LAPD were there with their heat sensing cameras, they would have kept on Marwan's tail with no problem. |
I'm loving this season so far. I've watched every episode, but I'm still buying the DVD. Some things are getting a tad predictable, like Jack saving the couple at the last moment, but you take the bad with the good.
|
ARRGGHH! I got called into work last night so I taped the show to watch later. I sat down to watch it tonight and discovered I screwed up the timer settings and ended up only getting the recap at the beginning :| .
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of last nights episode? I tried a few bittorrent sites but haven't found anything yet. I'd even be willing to pay if there is a legimate site to get it from. I seem to recall there was a site where you could d/l TV shows legally but a quick search on Google turned up empty. Any suggestions? The recaps at the beginning are usually sufficient to bring you up to speed on what's going on but I'd really hate to miss an entire episode. |
Btefnet.org has the episode. Do with that what you will.....
On the episode: Something smells rotten in the White House, that is for certain. Man, have we delved into the realm of unbelievablity or what? This guy was woke up because of an explosion and had to look for it? I mean, a good chunk of the plane was a short walk away. He didn't wake up when the plane flew over (big ass plane at low altitudes), didn't wake up when the chunks started falling...right...over...there, but managed to wake up when he 'thought' he heard an explosion? Man, oh, man. ;) And they didn't catch Marwan? It's a big desert, but, c'mon, it's night time, the jeep lights were pretty bright, and a helicopter has to have some serious visual range anyway, but especially under those conditions. He just disappeared. I'm starting to think ol' Marwan may be related to David Copperfield. On a side note, that Jack is one knowledgeable mofo. And shouting at that guy before shooting him on the ledge. "Hey!" *BAM! That was pretty cool. |
I like how even though terrorists are about to acquire the keys to our entire nuclear arsenal, they send Jack into the power plant with ONE anonymous agent as backup, and they're both armed with only pistols. Cchhyyyeeeah
How many anonymous agents paired with Jack this season have died? There's that one who went into the apartment with Jack and got stabbed by that lady impersonating the FBI, then the one at the power plant, so at least 2, I'm sure there's more. And yeah... how could the helicopter NOT find Marwan's jeep? This is the freaking DESERT! There are NO OTHER LIGHTS! Oh well. Gotta love 24. |
I'm sure the jeep turned it's lights off.
New 24 rule: If an anonymous agent goes into a potentially dangerous situation with Jack, he will end up dead. |
Quote:
They should give the agents red shirts.. just like on Star Trek. |
Ugh, if you haven't stopped already, I really suggest that you stop watching the trailers. Fox has just really stopped caring about what they throw in there, and is basically spelling out the next weeks episode, or at least major plot twists. Time to avoid the rest of these at all costs.
|
This weeks episode didnt come off very well after the intense action of the last couple weeks. Interesting plot turns coming up. Jack going rouge wasn't a suprise, can't wait to see how they pull that off.
|
I can't stand how much of a pussy the new Pres is. It's annoying to the point of being pathetic. I like that hardcore Jack is back, though. :)
|
Yea, the VP is just retarded. Seriously, I think he's truly mentally retarded. 20 minutes to make a decision my ass... be a man! ;)
Well, I keep harping on it, but they really do need to find another plot device besides torturing. This is, what, the 7th person tortured this season? 8th? I'm not even sure if I'm exaggerating. Nevertheless, Jack tazing the marshal and breaking the guy's thumb was fun to watch.... And what's gonna happen with Edgar? He's definately nearing his boiling point. I'm not really sure what I believe he's capable of... When we saw the marshal get tazered, I was half expecting it to be Edgar. That might have been a stretch, but he seems almost pissed off enough to do something like that. |
Alright, not as exciting as the last few episodes but still, it opened up to new possibilities.
What was up with that stupid rookie terrorist? "Sorry Marwan, I used that credit card you gave me from the Bank of Terrorism." Yeah, they tracked your ass down in a heartbeat. The president is a huge incompetent coward. I have a feeling he wont be around much longer. If he is, he will be someones puppet. Who says 24 isn't realistic? Tony and Michelle are on the road back to reconciliation. Duh. Why didn't Jack mention that the sleazy guy didn't have time to call a lawyer?? I think that's pretty relevant information. If he was innocent, how would anyone know he was arrested and why would they call amnesty so quickly?? C'mon! I thought Edgar was going to lose it and go for the sleazeball himself. It would have messed up Jack's plan but would have been so worth it. My respect level for Edgar would have shot up to 5%. I like how Jack blew Audrey off. I'm sure he already knows she's leaving him for her ex-husband. I'm just surprised he didn't walk away while giving her the finger. The tazer to the neck and the broken thumb were so cool! I like vigilante Jack. He knows how to get shit done! Since some people are not watching the trailers, I'll keep this on the down low: Spoiler: Holy shit! Palmer's back baby! Ah, 24...you make me so happy. |
I wish they'd just quietly write Edgar out. He's got to be the least interesting guy on the show. They must've big plans for ol' Edgar if they've kept him around this long.
Jack is hardcore. "I'm resigning to go torture some terrorist asshole in the parking lot....wish me luck." Wow. |
Man I fully expected Jack to go all Ike Turner on that sleazy lawyer guy, dude was beggin' for it.
So regarding the new president, does anyone else think he looks a lot like R.M. Nixon? I wonder if that is just a cooincidence. Wonder how much longer Mike Novic can take his pussy-ass waffling and just wrest control of the country for himself? |
Quote:
|
Hmmmm, let's see here, Jack is no longer working for the DoD... CTU has an opening at the top.. ya think when it all shakes out, Jack will have his old job back?
|
Chloe sm0kes YOU !!!!!
|
damn, that was a great episode. and I guess it's pretty clear that the VP/current President isn't in cahoots with Marwan, but is really just totally inept. I'm hooked on this show like it's black tar heroin.
|
That was great last night. Tony should have been in the feild with Jack tho, he's being wasted in the office. Not to mention that Tony never would have let those secret service guys fuck up the mission.
The Palmer thing is an awkward "tack on." His presense seems really out of place. |
I used to hate chloe, but she is so awkward it is great.
E: "You are the best analyst we have" C: "......I know." haha, that was awesome to see her blow the guy away too. I wanted Palmer to jump from his normal position in the Allstate commercial across frames and land comfortably in the realm of 24....crushing the inept President in the process. Can't wait to see the next one. |
Once again I loved the episode but hated many things about it. Palmer coming back is fun but soooo lame at the same time. Chloe blasting the terrorist was great but totally stupid.
I really liked that there was finally a President that was afraid of how his decision would effect his political career. |
I finally watched it last night. That was pretty awesome! The prez is a stupid dick but at least Palmer is coming in to show him how it's done. I agree, a little out of place but who cares, Palmer's back!
Edgar needs to die. By explosion. Nuff said. Audrey needs to be standing next to him when it happens. Okay, the Chloe moment was both awesome and lame at the same time. I'll admit, I did jump out of my seat when that happened. Damn, this show rocks. |
Oh btw two more anonymous agents down !! ahahaha
|
so I've been counting the word NOW in episodes, ala the drinking game Hi Bob from the Bob Newhart Show, and I got 19 NOWs.
The drinking game I've thought up is 1 drink for NOW, 2 for Jack Bauer saying NOW. |
Quote:

Anyone have a kill count for Jack? I swear he kills about 3 people an episode.. 24 episodes. thats like 72 kills in 24 hours... Imagine Killing 72 ppl in 24 hours like.. ouch lol... But if anyone can get a kill count i think that would be fun :)
|
without posting any severe spoilers, does anyone have any idea what the frick was going on in that "next week on 24" clip? i saw jack shooting a bunch of asian people in uni's i've never seen before. i can't even process a way to make that work, unless the nuke's being pawned off on the chinese. if that was the deal though, marwan would wanna get rid of it right after the theft, and not reprogram himself. ugh.
|
Oh wow... this week's episode rocked so hard....... so hard....
|
another great episode this week, and the new twist regarding the Chinese is really interesting.
however, the really sappy moments (like when Michelle found out Tony was living with another woman or when Edgar was asking Chloe how she was doing) made my brother and I literally laugh out loud because of how forced and ridiculous all of them seemed. |
jack screwed up....finally. They better hope the Chinese guy is useful....
|
Sweet episode. Anyone catch how the one CTU agent had a scratch on his face? They focused on that for some reason. Maybe DNA match to link CTU to the operation? I wonder if that's going to play out in the next three episodes.
Damn, Jack let Paul die. Poor Audrey, making all those plans. I couldn't help but laugh obnoxiously loud. Palmer is still the man and Jack is still a bad ass. Only three more episodes. So bittersweet. |

damn i'm so sorry i missed it (out last night). will it be replayed? Is it being broadcast on the net anywhere?
|
And so Jack sacrifices Paul (and in a way, Audury) for his country. Now there's a real hero. And wouldn't the guards know better than to shoot while Jack has a guy over his back?
I thought Tony forgot to call home, "Hi honey. Great news. They might give me my old job back. By the way, I'm working with my ex-wife, Michelle. I told you about her, right? And guess what?! Her boyfriend is my boss. And I just thought you should know that we still have feelings for each other and I'll be working late. And pick up some beer from the store. |
buchanon didn't get with michelle, otherwise, tony would be acting like peter from office space over the lundbergh thing. i agree about the guards though...jack's got one of your citizens on his back, and you're just firing off shots at random? storm troopers would do a better job handling the situation than those clowns.
am i the only one that thinks one of the three presidents has to die? |
Quote:
|
Let's just hope the Chinese guy doesn't die before they can get any information out of him. Jack already feels bad about Paul, but to know that what he did ended up in nothing...ouch!
|
Jack has to have gotten something out of the Chinese guy. He finds Marwan's location next week, so the doctor's have to have revived him enough to get info out of him. And really, the Premiere had it coming if he was dumb enough to run out into the middle of a firestorm.
|
Remember how Chloe was worried that she might be a cold-blooded killer for not feeling anything after gunning down that guy? And Edgar mentioned that she may have a "delayed reaction". Will she freak out and wind up in the fetal position saying, "Oh God, oh God, oh God," repeatedly in the next few hours?
|
Quote:
I am officially predicting that Jack dies today. Not a spoiler, I have no hard evidence or inside information...I just think he's done. |
Quote:
I personally think that'd be the end of the show if Sutherland was cut from the cast. I dunno if Jack is replacable or not. Now if Jack "died"... but it was just some cover-up so that his enemies would think he's gone....and then he came showed up in the middle of season 5 as some undercover guy..... then I'd believe they'd "kill" him off at the end of this season. |
I just hope someone says to Audrey..
"By the way....what the fuck are you doing here at CTU?" And I hope Jack does it. |
Quote:
"she'll get over it" or "she'll come crawling back" that would make the day :D |
Audrey (aka. Beaver Girl) needs to go someplace...hey where is her dad?
Anyways, Jack shouldn't stress over her. After he saves the nation, he'll have ladies knocking on his door thanking him lol |

The comatose President dies, Palmer is named Veep, and the acting President resigns, making Palmer (who only served one term I believe) President again... you likey? |

So Chloe will either crawl up into a little ball or go on a killing spree and become one of the top field agents next season. edit: this is my 100th post! |
Although Chloe as a field agent might be cool, there is nobody better at using their computer resources. She's invaluable that way.

actually, palmer's gonna be named VP and novick is gonna tear out the new president's throat with his teeth after he has one more stupid outburst. THEN cerrano...errrr...palmer can be president. hopefully, someone will make him say "if you no help me now, i say fuck you joe boo"
|
OK I have a bit of an issue with last night's episode...
They take the time to explain that Audrey that she has to be part of Jack's cover story and convince her to go along with it for the good of the country. Audrey, who is an intelligent and politically savvy operator is taken aside and coached. On the other hand, poor-disfunctional semi-retarded Edgar Styles is told nothing and is left to his own devices when questioned by the the Chinese. weak My suspension of disbelief is getting very tenuous at this point. |
Quote:
Anywho, last night's episode was pretty damn cool. I don't know why the agent who's mask got pulled down didn't mention it. Surprised that a camera caught it? C'mon, he's a trained agent who is well aware of what kind technology is out there. He should have assumed it. The funniest part of the episode was when Chloe offered to listen to Jack if he ever needed a friend. He looked at her like "WTF?" Yeah, sure. They should go get some coffee when all this is over. So it seems like the Chinese have too much proof against CTU for this to blow over. 2 episodes left, how the hell are they going to handle all this?? Again, Edgar needs to die. The nuke has been launched! F'n crazy! Will it detonate? Will Jack die?? Will Palmer take over as President??? Will Chloe go off on a killing spree before the day is over???? Oh man...two more episodes. Can't wait to see how it all unravels. Hope they don't suck out. |
I've learned that you just have to ignore those stupid little things in 24 or else the show becomes unwatcheable. Things like that with Edgar not knowing what to say, everything is withing 3 minutes of CTU, Marwan is able to drive away and the heli can't catch him, Jack stabs himself and is fine the rest of the day...
It's cool that Audrey's brother is coming back, I knew he was full of shit. |
I finally managed to watch an entire episode. (piss me off that Medium is playing opposite it). i'd like to know what personality disorder Chloe has that was referred to last night.
also, is the actor that plays Chloe also on Kelsy Grammer's sketch show? |
Quote:
And yes, Chloe is/was on Kelsey Grammar's sketch show...wasn't it already cancelled? It really sucked. |
Quote:
I was a bit disappointed by the capture of Marwan. This season has had some great action sequences but here they finally catch up and corner him only to nab him with barely a struggle. Kind of a let down. |
Quote:
Ok, sorry. Carry on. |
did anyone else notice the awesome facial expression that Jack had when Chloe offered her support? He just had this look of "...... what the hell are you talking about?" Classic.
I was little irked about how they hacked up that story with Audrey and the hourlies, too... I mean, we got World War III in the making, and they treat it like nothing. Quote:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0707476/ Yeah, she's been keeping busy. The actress is kinda pretty too. I didn't notice 'til she was on The Scetch Show, since the Chloe character is such a turn-off. But we'll leave that for the "Hot Actresses in Annoying Roles" thread.
Alot of romance in the series the last few seasons. Tony and Michaelle, Jack and Audry, Kim and Chase. Careful with Kim though, it's hazardous to your health to be any where near her. One dude lost a leg, and Chase a hand. |

I think Curtis is a really good character that I could see being the head of CTU next season. He has a very smooth personality. When Jack told him and the other CTU agent about the Chinese thing, Curtis knew exactly what to do and was calm about it while the other guy was flipping out~
|
What the hell is Curtis' last name?
|
Quote:
Curtis Manning |
Quote:
Is it just me, or does Curtis remind anyone of Kwame from season one of the Apprentice? I blurted that out randomly last week, because it just hit me out of nowhere that the two bear a resemblance to each other. And maaan am I excited to see what happens tomorrow night. So much so that I'm posting about it on a message board instead of working on my 10 page research paper. |
I am a 24 addict, but it pains me a little every time I think to myslef I have spent almost 4 days of my life watching a TV show.
|
How come everyone keeps calling Palmer 'Mr President'? Is that common in real life, to refer to an ex-president as Mr President, or is it just the staff's way of giving the finger to the current inadequate President?
I don't know if Edgar's rage will turn into anything. I thought it might just be a red herring, to remind us that he's hit personally by the reactor meltdown. But now that they have Marwan he might be getting up out of his chair. Edgar and Chloe should get it on :D I'm surprised Jack took so long to realize that the guy from the wharf never had time to call a lawyer, that was a bit weak. I bet we all picked up on that straight away, even if we didn't see Marwan make the calls on his behalf. |

were we supposed to recognize either the guy or the girl that they tracked down tonight? i kinda felt like the show was trying to shock us with someone from the past, but it didn't click for me.
I liked this episode. The VP is starting to get a backbone, albeit a slight one. Marwan getting rescued was cool. The cheesiness factor was kinda high ("omg i love you michelle!" "omg dad i'm gay!"), but it was a nice break from the craziness of past episodes. I wonder if Michelle is going to return the favor that Tony did for her last season by going renegade and rescuing him? .... ok maybe not |
Ok... uh.... so they have America's #1 most wanted terrorist and somehow they forget to secure the surrounding area? And I liked how Curtis and Bauer were pinned down in that alley with 4-5 shooters (or at least it seemed that many) and were in dire straits,.... then we come back from commercial and the situation is perfectly under control.
But on to the more important topic..... that evil white chick is HOT !!!!! Oh my god, so hot. the hotness. I was pissed she put on that vest because she was wearing that tight white tshit with NO BRA UNDERNEATH! It would have been fucking awesome. This leads me to another string of thought. So we have the hot evil white chick from this week, the hot evil white chick FBI impersonator, the hot evil white chick sister from season 2, it seems that every evil white chick is freaking hot. I want to be evil! |

Spoiler: Nah, that scene in the hallway sealed his fate. Tony's dead meat for sure. He's going to be the big surprise death at the end of the season. |
It seems like Tony dying is too obvious. They made it look like that's what was going to happen in the previews for the finale. And if there's anything I've learned from TV previews, it's that what they try to make you believe is actually the total opposite of what will actually happen. I'm gonna go way out on a limb and guess that somehow Tony is ok and Michelle ends up dead.
This show is so ridiculous but so damn addictive. I can't wait to see what happens and how many more times Marwan escapes next week. |
Well, this is it, next week is the last episode. I'm very excited. Can't wait to see what happens to Jack or Tony.
|
Quote:
Tony dying does seem kinda obvious. Although earlier in the season I remember thinking I was 100% convinced his fate was sealed and he was gonna die. Now they've had him stick around the entire season, so I'm not so sure. |
What happened to China? I'm betting we don't hear from them for the rest of the season...maybe this is setting up for season five. The China Threat.
Wait and see I guess. Speaking of lost plotlines...what happened to Beyroos? Too much mushy lovey crap in this episode: Tony loves Michelle, Jack loves Audrey, Richard loves Boys. Boring. Less chatter, more splatter. |

That was awesome.. me likey!! |
*sigh* I love this show.
I have a feeling...Tony is going to die. Yes, it does seem too obvious but that could be the twister. The writers must know that people catch on to their twisty goodness and that we would assume that they wouldn't make it so obvious but wouldn't it be shocking if they really did kill Tony?? Plus, he and Michelle have made up and just made this vow to leave their jobs! What better time to die than now? How much more heart wrenching could it be?? So where is the nuke heading? CTU? doubt it. NY? C'mon, they've been through enough. DC? that's what I'm leaning towards. But of course it will be intercepted. Right? They wouldn't let it hit...would they? Hmm...That would be one hell of a season finale! This will be the last week I'll have something to look forward to. Hooray for 24 on DVD! It just wont be the same :( |
It won't go to DC, they've already decided that it's the most likely target! It'll be something right out of left field I bet :D
Tony and Michelle make me melt, but I'm still a little unsure about Michelle. For some reason I forgive Tony and his drinking but I can't forgive Michelle. I remember she said that he was always drunk, but also that Tony found out that something happened between her and Buchanan while they were still legally married, I can't remember. Heller's son turning out gay was just ridiculous. I guess you could say it was a character building scene or something, but instead it just felt so thrown in. Especially since he didn't have to say he was with the guy to satisfy his dad's questions. All he had to say was that they borrowed his phone, no big deal. If they really wanted to include that part then they should have worked the script a bit better. |
I think chloe will disarm the bomb and make it land safely into the ocean. Jack will shoot that girl, and save tony.
|
jack will catch it with his bare hands and throw it into the nearest refrigerator to save the day! hehe...
|
a refrigerator solves all of jack's problems.

how about Cape Canaveral? that's out of left field. What is higher, taller than the WTC buildings? The collective american pride in their conquest of space. then again, there's little real damage that can be done. so maybe the missile can reach Cuba, and cause an international domino effect, which the chinese will utilize to the best of their ability. |
Mount Rushmore... high in symbolism low in casualties....
|
Maybe it's going to Toronto... hmm. No at 600mph it would already be there.
|
I thought that too Janey, that perhaps they're trying to attack another country to provoke a war. I can't remember if the missile can reach that far (it looks quite small). But I guess they already tried to do that with the Cypress audio, rehashing that storyline might be a little lame.
I have no idea where the missile is headed :S |
What if it's headed towards LA? It would take three hours to get there, it launched an hour ago, two hours left in the show...That would be one hell of a way to finish it off.

Hahaha...or he'll hop on top and wrangle it onto a trajectory headed into space. And then he'll ride the nuke, a la Dr. Strangelove into the sunset. The next season will open with Jack on the moon, holding the nuke up at gunpoint. He will then demand the nuke tell him what he needs to know, and when the nuke doesn't reply (because it's a freaking bomb and doesn't have a mouth) Jack shoots the nuke in the thigh and then fly back to Earth using his unlimited amount of badassery. He will then return to a post-apocalyptic Earth that is overrun by cyborgs with Austrian accents. Jack will then head up CCTU (Counter Cyborg Terrorism Unit), and double as the top field agent/time traveler. The new terrorist is Pedro Cerrano Palmer, part-robot, part-man, part-baseball player, part-ex-president, and part-allstate-insurance-spokesman. Trust me on this. You heard it here first, folks. 24's finale is going to be a wild one. |
^^
|| lol. I cant believe Marwan keeps getting away. He's even more craftier than Bin Laden. Somewhere in a cave in the mid-east Osama is like, 'Yeah that's my boy!'. lol The nuke has been in the air for well over an hour. Where do you think it will land? on the white house? I have a feeling that the nuke will get shot down by the pilot of the stealth bomber. they cant leave that loose end like that. a mercenary just flying around in an armed fighter plane...Also, Jack will pop Tony in order to get a clear shot of the female terrorist. |
