THE VENTURE BROS.

Anybody else love this new series from Cartoon Network as much as I do?

It seems to be a cross between Jonny Quest, Scooby Doo, James Bond on steroids, and a pair of dumb Hardy Boys thrown into the mix.

The main characters are Dr. Venture, his two dimwitted sons Hank and Dean, and their supercool, secret agent with a license to kill/cum-bodyguard, Brock Samson.

For the 1st season's episode guides and names, hit the links below.

One of my favorite scenes was the one with the Six-million dollar man having an affair with the female bigfoot.
Next would be Race Bannon dying in Brock's rms, and his last words are, "Brock, tell Jonny I love....".

Absolutely brilliant parodies of 60's cartoon sleuth shows.

What are some of your favorite parts?

Btw, anyone seen the pilot that originally aired in February of '03?
I missed it and all of the subsequent airings.
Brock was supposed to have been even more badass in it.
I've heard after he 'killed' the mummy^, he defiled it.
Anybody confirm this?

I seen the first episode.

He pissed on the mummy after he beat it up because, "You have to defile a mummy completely, otherwise they come back. You know that."

Some friends of mine believe that originally he was supposed to crap on it. Right before the scene, Dean says something like "Holy toledo, he "curbed" on it," but it sounded more like "crapped" on it. The words were all kind of jumbled together like they edited it later.

I don't know...funny either way.

Dr. Orpheus is fast becoming one of my favorites. I especially like the scene where he's leaving the message for his daughter about the pudding in the fridge.

The Fantastic Four ripoff episode was priceless, too. Series needs more Molotov Cocktease, though.

this show is pretty hilarious. I had my doubts the first time, but they get away with some of the most disturbing one liners out there. Brock's character is funnier then hell to me.

Is it just me or has anyone else seen a few of this series a few years ago? I definately saw a few episodes a while back and missed them when they vanished for a while. AND NOW THEY ARE BACK!

They ran a pilot a couple of years ago, but I think that was only 1 episode they did. For some reason, I didn't like the pilot, but I've seen some of the later episodes, and it's really funny. One of the best of the Adult Swim linup.

My sister is good friends with one of the producers of this show, from Noodlesoup. I've met the guy, Brad, and he's pretty cool and down to earth. I watched the pilot on dvd a little while before it premiered, and didn't think it was anything spectacular - but the few episodes I've caught on Adult Swim were good, and it's definitely growing on me.

It's kinda sad when you watch it with people who don't get the references to all the old cartoons. Or maybe it's sad I know so many...
