Spaceballs II....the schwarts is with us
I don't know exactly why....but I am seriously looking forward to this.
n a Q&A with Playbill magazine, Mel Brooks says that he's currently working on a Spaceballs sequel. Here's the clip from the interview which starts off by talking about the big screen adaptation of The Producers. Playbill: Will you have a role in it? MB: It's doubtful, but I'm writing myself back into the Spaceballs sequel that I'm now writing, so you haven't seen the last of my face. Why another Spaceballs? It wouldn't feel right have anyone else play Yoghurt and the first one was the best experience I've had making a movie since Blazing Saddles. Playbill: When can we expect that? MB: Best case scenario: a week before the new Star Wars opens. Worst Case Scenario: a year after the new star wars opens. I will actually see this in a theater, which is more than I can say for for the next Star Wars. |
loved Spaceballs...hope the sequel will be as great
|
And so much available material to make fun of too. Yeah, I'll be seeing this.
|
How can you have a sequal with no John Candy as Mogg.
"I'm half man and half dog. I'm my own best friend!" |
I can finally stop praying for a sequel to one of the funniest movies of all time. Mel Brooks is one of the most talented comedians of all time. God bless that funny man.
|
Spaceballs was the last funny movie Brooks did. I thought he had turned into a hack prior to the brilliant stage adaptation of "The Producers"
|
It's scary, but I probably know just as many lines from Spaceballs as I do from the Star Wars trilogy.
I'll definitely be there for this! |
I'll be there! I can't wait for it... I wish he'd make History of the World, Part 2...
|
woo hoo! finally! Spaceballs is one of my alltime favourite movies so I'm definitely looking forward to this one. I'm curious about who's gonna be playing Barf IF he's in the sequel as well :hmm:
|
I'm looking forward to this, as well.
John Candy as 'Barf the Mogg', was almost as great a character as Chewbacca was, in my mind. Should they have someone replace Barf, or have someone play his son or daughter? |
I just want to know if Rick Moranis will be playing the "Anakin" in this story
|
I'm seriously looking forward to this one too. Mel Brooks does fantastic movies. Men in Tights is still one of my favorite.
I hear that they are combing the desert to look for a replacement for Candy. /ain't found shit |
If Moranis/Dark Helmet isn't in it, it ain't going to be worth a damn.
He's got all kinds of material to work with, I hope Mr. Brooks does a good job with this one. |
is this true? ive gotta find out more (goes searching)
|
I thought it was going to be called Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money.
Of course they could change it from what they said in the movie to... Spaceballs 2: The Schwarts for More Money. :D |
Jews in Space! Jews in Space!!!!!!!!!!
oh, and what's up gak!? |
Wow... I can't believe this. One of the greatest comic masterminds of all time making a sequel to one of his masterpieces, this oughtta be good.
*edit* By the way, funkeodor, you might want to consider getting rid of the iPod ad in your signature, the solicitation of those are explicitly banned on this forum. Just a friendly bit of advice before the mods get you. |
Your helmet...... it's so BIG !!!!!
|
RUMOR: I heard that Andy Richter (of Conan O'Brien fame) will be casted in John Candy's absence.
|
If Andy Richter is cast in John Candy's place, then color me happy.
|
He'll have to bust his buns to equal Candy's performance. Mel Brooks is my all time favorite. This should be great!
|
HOLY CRAP! Spaceballs II that is the best thing i've ever heard, mel brooks is my hero
|
I loved Spaceballs, and I loved Airplane, but Airplane II fucking blew. And now there is no John Candy, I have a bad bad bad feeling... I have plenty of faith in Mel Brooks, and it is about time he came out with another movie. I will wait for trailers and make my decision then, but Jesus Christ could he release Men In Tights on DVD sometime this decade!
|
I think it will be great! I love Mel Brooks movies. Wonder what Daphne Zuniga looks like these days?
|
Actually I'm quite satisfied about Andy Richter replacing John Candy(if it's true that is). At present I'm not sure I can think of anyone better suited for the job. Just about any fat guy will look funny in the costume, it's the natural comedic ability that Candy had that made Barf The Mogg really funny. Richter has a lot of that. This has the potential to be great. Can't wait.
Asta!! |
oh please let it come out before the new star wars. one of the best space parodies ever
