Goku is a cartoon character with a thing of banannas on his head for hair. He is a lot like super man in that he can fly, cant be hurt by bulletes, etc. However he has the advantage of becoming stronger with exp.

I should have voted lame, but of course I went with Superman. Goku is a cartoon. Superman is the Man Of Steel. Goku is two-dimensional. Superman actually lives in Metropolis. There is no way that a cartoon can beat Superman.

Alright, wtf people? This is the last place I expected to be doling out a thread warning. Maybe you think the poll's lame - that's your choice - but that doesn't give you the right to go and flame the thread starter. There's nothing wrong with starting a poll, and it's the MODS job to remove it if it goes against the forum rules. Lay off the flames and think next time before you basically flame someone in the same breath as telling them that THEIR post belongs on a lesser forum.

Oh, and as for an on-topic response, I didn't realize that Goku and Superman had so much in common. When I saw the thread title, I was really not sure why they were being paired together. If the above description is accurate, and Goku is basically the same as superman but also gets experience, then I would have to say Goku, assuming that he is starting out the same as Superman regarding strength, etc.

Did I miss something? I could have sworn Superman was drawn too. I missed the memo that his comics were based on reality. ;)

That being said, I voted that this poll is lame, only because I don't want to think hard enough to come up with an answer. It would be a pretty close battle, though.

Yeah, the Goku is a cartoon thing is silly. Superman is a cartoon as well! Goku started as a comic...so did Superman. Goku has a cartoon now, so does Superman.

If you've seen a lot of Superman cartoons and a lot of Dragonball cartoons, then the obvious choice is Goku. Superman can stop bullets, stop airplanes (with a huge amount of effort), and beat up on some baddies, but he can't blow up a planet with an energy beam. That pretty much settles it right there.

I do enjoy some competitions like this, no matter how fanboyish it becomes. :)

I have previously vaguely heard of Dragon Ballz and this Goku character but not much more than the names.
to put it simply - Superman by default due to lack of knowledge of the other option.

I'm sorry, but I don't think this is a comparison to be made whatsoever. Superman and Goku are on two completely different levels. A poll like this belongs somewhere like the G4TechTv forum.

Goku = faster than the speed of light.

Goku owns all super heroes probably. Superman has the better rep though.

I don't necessarily like how GT kinda fucked up some a the smaller details. Like for instance for all I know both 17's were just the same ol 17's from before strength wise....so Majuub, Vegeta, Gohan, either one of those 3 should have been able to vaporize them in seconds but somehow magically they actually have to TRY to kill them now....then they fuse and it's impossible. That gets a little old.

Favorite villan. Hands down Majinbuu. Both fat and skinny. He's (they're) damn impossible to beat plus he (they) can turn objects into candy. :D
After that is possessed Vegeta with the "M" on the forehead, that just look damn cool.

How did I know you were gonna say Buu? Another thing I don't get....as far as I know so far since Super 17 is up n running.....both Goten and Trunks are there.....why does Gotenks only exist for the Majin Buu saga and a few movies and then they just forgot about him, one of the coolest characters ever. Then ya also got Vegeta and Gohan. Surely if either of these guys decided to fuse together Super 17 would have to re-think his strategy...but no....we have to wait for Goku. Only he knows how to punch anymore. Kind of insulting really.

Buu is an obvious choice, every loves Buu. As for fusion, i think in an episode where they mention it only works when the two are similar in size, age and power level, thats why Gohan and Vegeta didn't fuse. Dunno why Goten and Trunks didn't. I agree Gotenk is one of the coolest. He's # 1 on my list! :D
They should show more of him.

Naruto wouldn't exist without DBZ! Anyway, I like Naruto overall better than DBZ, but the last few story arcs of DBZ have better action then the ninjutsu filled combat of naruto =P

If you want to compare Goku before he was resurrected the first time with Superman, Superman would win. I mean, Supes eats guys like Raditz for breakfast. He wouldn't have any chance against Goku after he came back, though.

My favorite villain is Frieza, personally. He was completely, unrepentantly evil. Even if it was around his time that the show started all that stalling and the episode-long yelling sessions... longest five minutes I ever saw. The pacing of the manga never had any problems, in comparison.

Funny you mention that cause Frieza Saga is my favorite saga yet.....Tough call with Majin n all but I dunno there were moments in that Frieza saga that were just dope. I gotta check out this Naruto thing. Wish it was on T.V. Oh Kelly....Trunks & Goten weren't really equal size & strength...Trunks had to hold back....and I think Goku was planning to fuse with Gohan before he got sent back....why he was saying "I wish we had more time" then he pitched the idea to Piccolo and he used it on the boys. So Vegeta and Gohan could prolly fuse...cept one is half saiyin and the other is full so I think thats what hinders it. Janemba still stands as my fave.

My favorite saga is the Cell saga. Training in the hyperbolic time chaimber gotta be one of the coolest part in it.

Hahaha Pikkon is dope though you gotta admit that. Bitch slapped Cell like he was nothing....I read on some website that he's a Namek....he doesn't look like a Namek though. If he was and him and Piccolo fused.....that'd be interesting. Piccolo is my favorite character by the way. None cooler.

That was indeed the character Paiku-han. That's his "proper (read: Japanese) name." He's not a Namekian, he's supposedly from the Western Quadrant of the universe (given that he's West Kai's strongest representative). The reason I say he's not Namekian is 1) the ears, where the ears be at? There are other missing facial features that are telltale signs of a Namekian, 2) Namek was originally located within North Kai's quadrant of the universe.

Superman wins hands down in my book. Anime heroes has a way of making a fight last appx. 5 million times longer than nessecary. Especially Dragonball Z has this "feature". They start a fight in episode 5, 20 odd episodes later they are still at it. And the main fighter ( Goku ) is still on his way...and the episode epilogue tries to whip up a sense of excitement: "Will Goku reach the fight in time to safe ..bla..bla..." Borrring... :)

Batman of course would whip both of those pussies(no offense) :D
