Man, that's ridiculously hard to choose.
When I was young, I never got this cartoon, but I was too embarassed to ask. Finally, many years later (when I was perhaps 10 or 12) I realized that my pronouncing the word like Elmer Fudd's name was the mistake. That it was spelled wrong never occurred to me at 6.

I have a Far Side coffee mug that says "While their owners sleep, nervous little dogs prepare for their day."
It cracks me up because the little dog is fixing itself a cup of espresso.

My fave, that I gave to my percussion teacher back in high school, showed a guy standing in the back of the orchestra, in the percussion section. He's looking very nervous and he's repeatedly thinking "I'm not gonna screw up. I'm not gonna screw up."
He's only holding one cymbal in his hands. The caption? Ralph screws up.

I always liked the Midvale school for the gifted one as well, failing that the airplane one where the pilot is saying
"arrgghh emergency the red lights flashing we're out of fuel, shit we're going to die, oh wait no that's the intercom light" Following the picture along shows the passengers faces visible through the windows, how such a good representation of shock is drawn just using some very open eyes always makes me laugh Or the bunch of science buffs who've built a vessel for going into space that's all crooked with the quote along the lines of "Let's face it, we're not rocket scientists" Or in a similar vein the guy working on a bomb with his mate creeping up behind him with an bag that he's about to make go pop

One of my favorites (and it's so hard to choose one) was a scene where a clown was being led to the electric chair. One of the guards told the other, "Gee Bob, I don't think I'll be telling the kids about this one." Granted, wish I had the actual scan of it. But, it made me laugh for 10 minutes at a point when I needed it.

Ironically for me it's the one I can't find to post. Two Bull's are blowing up an inflatable cow and one says to the other. "She's looking good Vern". These crack me up also.

I always liked the one with two cows sitting in their comfortable home, and the wife says, "Wendell, I'm not content."
Its just so damn ridiculous it cracks me up big time.

One of my favorites is the one where the parachute school is right next to the alligator farm... the caption reads "Trouble brewing".
Also, the one that's in the grasslands, there's a hunter, his assitant and a mime in the distane. The hunter then says, "Situation's changed, Jules... take my buffalo gun and hand me my mime rifle." |

I like the one where there are 3 dinosaurs standing around smoking, with the caption "The real reason dinosaurs became extinct".
Another good one was the one with 2 spiders who had spun a web across the bottom of a playground slide. One spider says to the other "If we pull this off, we'll eat like kings".

Aye, that dinosaur smoking one used be on posters that were put up all over my old elementary school back in the day.
There's one with a pair of suburban types coming home from a night on their town to their babysitter - a wicked witch, with broom, pointed hat and everything- and saying: "Let me get this straight. We left the kids with you, and you cooked and ate them both?"

Ok, I don't remember it perfectly, but it was so funny. I think it is broken up into 4 pictures. It is a couple of guards on top of a castle and one of the yells something like "Ghengis Khan is coming!" and the other one freaks out and gets really scared. Then the first guy says "Gotcha!" I hope someone has seen this before and it would be awesome if they could post a picture of it.

"The School for the Gifted" where the kid is trying to push open the door that says "Pull to open".
The one with the baby porcupine playing with the balloon. The dad porcupine says "well, this isn't going to last very long!"

I've always liked three in particular.
"Birds of Prey know they're Cool" "And God, is on a Roll!" (Playing Jeopardy, God: 354,654,645 everyone else: zip) And finally...a head of lions feeding on the antelope on the plain "Hey Frank, remember when Harry told that hyena joke and you laughed so hard, an antler came out of your nose!" |

my favorites are...
God at a computer, hitting the "SMITE" key, while he watches a piano fall on someone on his monitor The Restaurant with the flashing "Did Not Wash Hands!" light about the bathroom door as someone walks out of it. a six panel strip where an airplane pilot tells his passengers that they may experience some mild turbulance(sp?) and then proceeds to wiggle the controls throwing the plane into turmoil

There is one with some cows standing (on two legs) in a field. Then one yells "CAR!" and they all go down on fours and act like cows. After it's gone they go back to the way they were. Cracks me up every time. Meh, it's better with pictures. |

My favorite is one that took me forever to understand, and I think that is why. I had to work my through it. It shows a spider web with a spider at the end of a strand. In the web the spider has woven "Goodbye cruel world". It took a while for me to realize that the spider hung himself.
