What do you guys think of this new movie coming out at Christmas this year?

The CG looks pretty nifty. Human CG like I havent really seen before. It has been attempted before but... these guys look like they do a pretty good job.

Tom Hanks is all over this movie too. He is the voice of the conductor, the kids father in the beginning of the trailer, some hobo looking guy, and Santa.

Looks pretty fluffy, but I think I would check it just for the CG.

I saw this in the theatre the other day. The CG look kinda off to me. Look at this trailer and then check out either the Final Fantasy movie or the short that same house did for the Animatrix DVD and you'l see what I mean.

I don't know... It's that kinda of animation that tries to be so close to real that it just doesn't seem right. I guess they are trying to look as much like the artwork from the book as possible, so it makes sense I guess.

I love the storybook. I'm not sure a movie will compare to it... It might be worth seeing though... I'm just getting tired of Tom Hanks.

I saw this trailer a few weeks back and it felt really wierd, it was swelteringly hot outside, and it was going on about xmas cheer and santa, advertising it a lil early imo heh. For the film it aint really my type of film so i doubt ill be seeing it,

I'm in agreement with FaderMonkey. As much as I like animation in general, I don't understand going through all the effort of making a CG film with Tom Hanks starring a character that looks like... Tom Hanks. Seems like wasted effort, but I still have a soft spot for Christmas movies.

Yeah, same here. Although since Tom Hanks is in it, I'm surprised Stephen Spielberg isn't directing it. :p

Seems to be a recurring thing those two now.

The trailer they showed on the IMAX giant screen was a little overwhelming. Since I don't have children or young siblings, I doubt I will see this, but it looks reasonably good.

Seeing this trailer in June reminded me of how much i detest the upcoming Christmas "my present is better than yours" season.
