I know, none of them are "classic" Disney characters, but I still think they are the best!

Kadath 04-16-2004 05:14 PM

Maleficent is pretty fucking badass.

There's a whole frickin' generation that thinks Disney INVENTED Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Quasi Modo, Cinderella, etc.

They DID NOT!!!

[/rant]

Now that I've gotten that out of my system,

Belle

Aladdin is pretty cool. I better stop before I question my sexuality.

Self-pwnage.

brandon11983 04-17-2004 07:34 PM

Lizzie McGuire.

what?

adia 04-17-2004 10:19 PM

i'd have to agree with the Belle choice, she was a pretty well developed character. But in terms of hotness, Princess Jasmine beats her out.

a_divine_martyr 04-25-2004 07:23 PM

Sebastian.

Charlatan 04-26-2004 05:55 AM

The only good Disney character is a dead Disney character....

mystmarimatt 04-26-2004 01:37 PM

The Sultan from "Aladdin"

Dori from "Finding Nemo"

Scuttle from "Little Mermaid"

Cogsworth and Lumiere from "Beauty and the Beast"

Lebell, good choice. I always had a crush on Belle as a kid.

Quadraton 04-27-2004 10:57 AM

About the only Disney character that I've ever really liked is Kronk from Emperor's New Groove.

Sqeekum.

*sigh* this ought to be a challenge: to teach you how to love Nutella on cheese and a Disney character!

ironchefkorea 04-27-2004 01:27 PM

Lindsay Lohan. Mmm.

I also like Atlantis [as well as the characters in it] a lot, for some reason. The scope of the film, the way the vastness of the caves and Atlantis itself were drawn/designed were awesome. It totally made me feel like a kid again.

And the soldier from Mulan, the one that sings that song at the training camp. He was cool.

cherriesue 04-27-2004 01:52 PM

all of the characters in Nightmare before Christmas

Slayer 04-27-2004 03:32 PM

The Beast from Beauty and the Beast.

LOL! I suppose I was a bit harsh... kind of a knee jerk reaction for me when it comes to Disney...

I just don't like the Disnification of our culture. As Lebell has pointed out:
Quote:

There's a whole frickin' generation that thinks Disney INVENTED Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Quasi Modo, Cinderella, etc.
But it goes beyond that for me. I just don't like the Disney view of what the world should be... Disney World and Disney Land are achetypes I really thing we could do without... Just a little too clean and too sterile for me.

Add this to the fact that this message is found in most of their programming... I don't like my ideology so sugar laced.

(sorry for the threadjack I know this is supposed to be an appreciation thread... we now return you to your regularly schedule thread... :D )

Charlatan 04-28-2004 07:32 AM

By the way... I don't consider Nightmare Before Christmas and Monster's Inc. (or any Pixar film for that matter) as Disney.

They were created in conjunction with Disney, or one of their subsidaries (Buena Vista, Touchstone, etc.) but the creative really feels, if not actually, lies elsewhere (Pixar, Tim Buron, etc.).

A little hairsplitting? Sue me...
