SciFi freak trivia
Same rules as music trivia:
24 hours to answer or it is a stumper and poster gets to ask another Correct poster gets to ask next question No googling for answer please (takes fun away) Finally the only rule new for this thread: All shows must be from a SciFi show.... such as any of the Star Treks, Babylon 5, Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, FarScape, Freddy's Nightmares (the series no movie questions), Friday the 13th the Series, Monsters, tales from the Darkside, etc. Ok here goes a very easy question.......... what literary character did Data like to play in the Holodeck, in fact in one episode the computer generated arch rival actually tried to take over the Enterprise? |
Sherlock Holmes!!
I don't know much about Sci-Fi shows, so someone else will have to think of a question. :) -Lasereth |
Does Futurama count as a Sci-Fi show? Cause I know my Futurama. I suppose I probably know a lot more about Star Trek than I realize, too.
|
What's the name of Khan's ship. (i'm talking original Star Trek series)
|
Quote:
edit: I definitely remember the cute brunette that leaves with him at the end but dies conveniently before ST: II Wrath of Khan |
Botany Bay was the name of Khan's first ship.
What was Khan's full name? |
Kahn Noonian Singh...
What is the computer's name on Red Dwarf. |
Holly.
In star trek next generation what is the name of Data's daughter? |

What is the name of the Romulan Commander that accompanies Captain Picard into the Devron System in "All Good Things" (the last episode)? |
^Commander Tomalak.
What planet was Kodos the Executioner governor of when he ordered half the population executed? |
Tarsus IV
What's the name of the character in Space: Above and Beyond who dies whilst being sucked down a blackhole and listening to Johnny Cash? (God, I miss that show. That needs a DVD box set) |
"Easy as eating pancakes."
Raymond T. Butts, I believe. I miss that show, too. I'm downloading episode 12, River of Stars, right now. Alright, what was the name of the interrogator who interrogated/tortured Picard in the episode "Chain of Command"? "How many lights do you see?" |
I don't know if I am breaking protocols or not by answering another question but I am gonna any way because this is one of my favorite episodes of TNG (watched it again last night):
Gul Madred ---------------------------------- What are the first names of the three Lone Gunmen? ("Kind've a bummer getting your butt kicked by dead guy!") |
In the same vein, maybe I shouldn't answer for the possibility of violating the same protocol. But, I figure I have to, since the Lone Gunman series was one of my favorite but short-lives series next to Firefly.
John Fitzgerald Byers (at least it wasn't Bertrand!) Richard Langly, (I wanted to say Ringo, but I'm not sure if that's his "official" name) Melvin Frohicke. I will never forgive Chris Carter for knocking them off in one of the last X-Files episodes, though. I have half the urge to have a two-part question, but I'll leave the second one as a purely optional pursuit. One of my favorite ST:TNG episodes is "Yesterday's Enterprise". What was the name of the captain of the Enterprise-C, which was brought forward in time and created an alternate universe? Optionally, what pivotal battle (or location) did the Enterprise-C fight at that changed history? |
Captian (Rachel) Garrett was the woman who was the captiain of the Enterprise - C. As I remember for the bonus points, they were protecting some klingon world from the romulans.
What earth drink did Worf love, that he was introduced to by Guinan? |
Prune juice, I believe. He said it was a "Klingon warrior's drink" or something like that.
Anyhow, in the episode "Cause and Effect", the Enterprise enters a temporal causality loop caused by a collision and subsequent catastrophic explosion involving a ship commanded by a Captain Bateson (or as I'd like to say, Sideshow Bob). Other than everybody getting a massive case of deja vu, the loop keeps occuring, until Data tries a different way to avert the disaster. So, the question is: Data gets a chance to take knowledge back in time to prevent the loop from continuing, but only one word. What was the word? |
Three, to indicate the number of pips on Cmdr. Riker's collar so he would know to go with Riker's idea instead of his own.
Speaking of time loops, name three things that Col. O'Neal did just for fun while earth was trapped in a time loop during the Stargate SG-1 episode, "Window of Opportunity". |
1. Pottery
2. Golf drives through the stargate 3. Kissing Capt. Carter (fun!) In the episode "Parallels" of ST:TNG, Work keeps jumping from reality to reality every couple of minutes into the story. What thing casues him to shift between realities? |
A quantum fissure in the space-time continuum.
What are the odds of successfully navigating an asteroid field? (I know, I wanted to veer away from the rash of Star Trek questions, this is the SCIFI Freak Trivia Thread, not the Trekkie Freak Trivia Thread.) |
asteroid field is approximately 3,720 to 1
I use this term all the time in traffic.... What was the name if Capt Sheridan's Earth Force ship? |
The Agamemnon.
Of what species/race is Trance Gemini? |
HAHA!!! Trick question, you sly and sneaky bastard. (I say that with the utmost respect). No one knows what race she is. Wow, I need to actually start living a life...
WHOOPSIE!! Forgot to add my question What does Crichton call the Scorpy inside his head? |
Quote:
Oh...and Harvey, isn't it? I'm not sure. |

Bill O'Rights, I do believe it is your turn to post a question. |
ok, here we go, easy one.
WHat is the Cardassian name for Deep Space 9? |
Terak Nor (probably spelled wrong).
What's the name of Chiana's brother in Farscape? |
Brothers name is - Nerri...
What were the names of the 'Twins' in SilverHawks bonus points - name the all SilverHawks |
Mojo looks like you have a stumper as it has been over 24 hours.
Keeping the thread going here's a new question........ Which one of these series had the 2 lead actors married to each other and name them....... Was it FarScape? Space 1999? Friday the 13th the Series? OR Lexx? |
Quote:
My question: On Deep Space 9, one continuing but never-speaking character is an alien named Morn who never seems to leave Quark's bar. The name "Morn" is significant because the writers intentionally made it an anagram of the fname of a well-known TV character on another long-running, non-sci-fi show. What was that other character's name, and what was the name of the series he acted in? Extra points if you know the actor's name. |

My question: From the series "Battlestar Galactica", which actress played Boxeys' mother? |

Next Question: What was the name of Ripley's ship in Alien? |

What is the year on the gun given to Danny Glover at the end of Predator 2? I know, not a great movie, but the upcoming AvP made the word association impossible to ignore. |

Ok we have a stumper.................. Kadath please ask another.

*edit to recheck.... I see the problem I think one answered the Defiance was built to fight the Borg another I guess answered the Cardassians. I believe it was built to fight the Borg and therefore the Borg answerer and the threads following that would be the correct chain. Damn and I thought the politics board was hard to follow. |

Medievil Japan was the influence for the klingons.

Let's have Lunchbox7's question remain: Who said Zaphoid Beeblebrox was the best bang since the big one? |
Eccentrica Gallumbits, the triple-breasted whore of Eroticon 6, whose erogenous zones start either 5 or 6 miles from her actual body, depending on who you ask.
I'm confused about the rules for the thread, but I'll ask a ST question and hope that's safe. In the episode "Starship Mine" where terrorists battle Picard for control of the Enterprise, what name and position does Picard give when they capture him? |
Mott, the ships hairdresser.
How old is Yoda when he dies? |
"When 900 years old you reach, look as good, you will not."

|

What is Darth Vaders full title? |
it was Chalmun's Cantina btw
|
Darth Vader, Lord of the Sith?
|
Ok we don't have an answer (saying whether Kadath is right or wrong), and it is over the 24 hour waiting period, so Kadath go ahead and ask the next question.
We need to try and keep the thread moving. |
Hmm. I'll stick with ST:NG questions, as they're the only ones I can really be sure about.
In the episode "Future Imperfect" what are the names of Riker's wife and son? |
The son was named Jean-Luc of course.
The wife was Minuet who was a hologram that Riker had fooled around with. It was all a Romulan plot to make Riker think he was in the future. Who is the only person to appear as himself in "Star Trek: The Next Generation"? |
Stephan Hawking appeared as himself during a poker game with Data on the Holodeck.
Who did Londo Mollari forget to kill in order to prevent his homeworld from being destroyed by the Vorlons? |

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Still mirevolver's question Stephan Hawking appeared as himself during a poker game with Data on the Holodeck. **Who did Londo Mollari forget to kill in order to prevent his homeworld from being destroyed by the Vorlons? |
Quote:
Londo Mollari forgot to kill himself. Since we don't seem to have any B5 fans here, I'll ask a Star Trek Question. Who was the first Captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701), and who posed for the picture of that Captain. |
Okay, you people are rediculus
It was Captain Robert April. The photo of him is actually of Gene Roddenberry in a starfleet uniform. Here's an easy one. What happens to Worf at the end of DS9? |
I knew it was Robert April, I just had a brain fart and couldn't remember that good ol Gene was the poser for the photo. *goes to bludgeon self with toy phaser*
Anyways, Worf becomes the UFP Ambassador to Qo'nos. And my question is... Who played Captain John Christopher in TOS episode "Tomorrow is Yesterday"? |
(Great episode!)
Roger Perry played Captain John Christopher. next: In Return of the Jedi, at the celebration in the Ewok village after the defeat of the Emperor, what is one of the Ewoks using for a drum that is unusual? |
There is a whole drum section made of trooper helmets, if that is what you mean.
|
Quote:
So, yup, your turn, Kadath.:) |
Okay. How did the "Tom Baker" iteration of Doctor Who die?
|
Okay, guess no one watches Dr. Who. He fell off a tower or something while struggling with The Master. Someone else?
|
What’s the name of the trader/smuggler captain in Star Trek whose schemes keep getting busted up by Kirk?
|
Harry Mudd
Name in order (from left to right), the Force apparitions that Luke sees at the end of Return of the Jedi. |
Is it Obi-wan, Yoda, then Anakin?
|
Yes. Yoda is standing on the railing, which is a stupid visual cheat to employ; he's a Jedi, he can levitate if you want him at the same height as humans.

next: In the Invisible Man sci-fi series, where did they get the original Quicksilver gland from that they put into Darien Fawkes' brain? |
Well, it could be one of two answers: originally his brother made it, but it was put in Simon Cole first. Then they killed him and removed it and put it into Darien.

Tar
What are the odds of Luke and Han surviving outside on Hoth during the night? |
725 to 1, although R2 has been known to make mistakes...from time to time.
Star Wars trivia like that ain't even a challenge for a nerd like myself. Uh...What happens to Wesley Crusher towards the end of ST:NG? |

In the movie Time After Time, what rather dumb pseudonym does H.G. Wells use when contacting the police in 1980s San Francisco? |
Well, it's been 24 hours at least so I'll come up with a new question:
In the Star Wars Universe, who commanded the emperor's flag ship "Executor?" |
Admiral Thrawn?
|
Nope, he wasn't around at this point.
Answer: Admiral Piett (when it was destroyed) Anyone want to come up with a new question? |
