shit, I meant for this to be a poll, but oh well.

the choices:

Joel
Mike
Crow
Tom Servo
Other (any of the lesser, supporting characters)


for me, its Joel. Crow and Servo are about equal. I find each equally humorous. But when I watch old episodes, I notice how much funnier Joel is (to me anyway) than Mike.

for example:

just last night I watched "The Atomic Brain" (a Mike ep) and "The Pod People" (a Joel ep). Both were, of course, really, really, REALLY bad, totall shitheap excuses for movies. But I found the Joel episode so much funnier, mostly because of Joel's comments. Also, I noticed that there difference in the comedic approach between the two, to include Crow and Tom Servo's commentary. Overall, I just think the show was better with Joel, though still very good with Mike.

Definitely Joel, followed by his boss, then Crow, then Tom.

I don't think they'll be a lot of disparity here. Mike was a decent successor, but Joel is the man.

Crow. Hands down. His comments were always the most bitingly sarcastic.

I like crow, I think he's the one that said "Oh... look out... It's the were-worm..." during that werewolf movie where he he was slinking around all wolf like, overacting like a bastard.

I like Crow, as well. (I liked Evil Crow even more)
I also like the antics of the Ape guy, what's-his-name.

Well here's vote one for Servo and his lovely singing voice.
And it's always a pleasure when Torgo makes an appearance on the show, too.

i always liked tom the best, though crow is up there. i never saw the episodes with joel so i can't compare him to mike, but mike is pretty good. ditto with gypsy who was cool in my book

voter apathy is a sad thing, isnt it...

I like Crow and Dr. Forrester best, and after that, Joel. The 'bots kind of treat Mike with a you're-not-the-boss-of-me attitude that they didn't with Joel, and while that's funny, I prefer Joel's sleepy delivery.

Also, Torgo is the king. Ortega is a poor substitute.

servo over crowe.. but just barely.... they're both great, sarcastic, characters.

I accidentally voted for Joel.
But I meant to vote for "other," as-in TV's Frank.

I have to go with the Trace-voiced Crow...I loved his delivery.

Joel all the way. Mike was a good replacement. But I liked the way Joel always looked like he had woken up 2 minutes before taping.

Tom Servo all the way

I've got to take Servo on this one.

Quoted for emphasis. Mike handled things well enough after Joel left, but it wasn't the same. Joel's sleepy voiced charisma was a perfect for the low-budget, laid back show, and was an excellent contrast his manic, robotic sidekicks.
