DENNIS FUCKING MILLER
That's it. |
George Carlin
Jim Norton Nick DiPalo Louis C.K Dave Attell Dane Cook Kathleen Madigan Maria Bamford |
Peter Sellers in the Party and Dr Strangelove.
|
Jim Gaffigan
I saw him once on Comedy Central doing stand-up and he was hilarious. I downloaded the MP3 of his act and I still love it as much as I did the first time I saw it. He is the guy in Super Troopers that is the driver when the cops play the "Meow Game." Such a great and funny guy. |
Most of mine have been listed, I'll add David Cross though.
|
Ah, you got both my favourite comedians.
Dennis Leary Richard Jeni Bill Cosby was also good, back in the day. |
Lewis Black from Daily show with John Stewert
George Carlin others I cant remember right now |
I like Steve Martins standup & Emo Philips is wacked out.
|
Bill Hicks was one of the funniest tell it like it is comedians ever.
|
dave hughes i think his name is. hes an aussie so most people probably wont have heard of him
|
George Carlin
Some newer great comics, Jim Gaffigan (Grondar, I saw that one, too.. great stuff :) ) , and Dave Attell Dave's cd "Skanks for the memories" is a must have! |
Groucho Marx
The Marx Brothers. |
George Carlin was great.
Right now I really like Chris Rock. He needs to stop making movies and get back to doing more stand up. |
He's dead I know, but Bill Hicks is god.
|
Dennis Leary is a riot. He's top dog. After him George Carlin. Eddie Murphy's old stand up gigs where awesome. Chris Rock is good too.
|
dennis miller
sam kinneson dennis leary the amazing jonathon |
How about Robin Williams. His improv material is hysterical.
|
Someone whose name I probably wouldn't mention had I not just watched a 100th birthday tribute - Bob Hope.
I know most of you are too young to remember his movies or TV shows, but he entertained America for six decades On the longevity of his career, he said, "Ive performed for 11 Presidents . . . . . . . and entertained 6." |
Chris Rock
George Carlin Stephen Wright Dennis Leary |
Ryan Stiles
Colin Mochrie (especially those two together) Jon Stewart |
Eddie Murphy
|
I'm suprised to see that no one has listed Lenny Bruce, his stuff is funny, dirty, and at the time he was doing stand up very dangerous.
Also, Richard Pryor...He is what Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy aspire to be as comedians. They've both cited him as a role model in their careers as comedians. Damn funny too |
Mitch Hedberg
|
Gabriel Iglesias
|
Lewis Black & Eddie Izzard.
|
I got to agree with ya rougue49 Eddie Murphy in his heyday
DELIRIOUS!!! |
Roseanne (Back in the day)
Eddie Murphy Bill Cosby George Carlin Richard Pryor Robin Williams Dave Chapelle |
Stephen Lynch.. I caught him on Comedy central a while back and he is perhaps the funniest man i have ever seen.
Basically, he plays these childish melodys on his guitar adn adds extremely vulgar adn dirty lyrics to them.. Very funny man and he ahs realeased two cd's both of which i highly recommend. |
David Cross is mine. How can you not like angry atheist humor?
|
Dennis Miller and Sam Kineson
|
Quote:
Current? Steven Wright!!!! |
I used too like Bill Hicks and Peter Sellers
A good comedian from over here who would never hit it off in the U.S.A.(Although u never know) Peter Kay he is very funny but it is mainly about british life holidays family etc. |
Martin Lawrence
|
Rodney Dangerfield
This guy could make me laugh till I cried. He's in really bad shape right now after some operations. Hope he pulls through. |
I'll have to add two that I forgot to my list. (I was tired:))
Robin Williams Steve Martin Both classics |
Richard Pyror
Jack Black (I love his music!) Steve Martin Dave Chapelle Lewis Black Jon Stewart Bill Hicks Dennis Miller George Carlin Robin Williams |
Bob Nelson
Dennis Miller RobinWilliams Dave Chappelle Jerry Seinfeld David Cross Eddie Griffin Chris Rock Bill Hicks Stephen Lynch |
The man George Carlin
Andrew Dice Clay Sam Kinison David Cross Call me crazy but I really get a kick out of Carrot Top |
dave chapelle
carlos mensia chris rock denis leary eddie murphy dana carvey |
ok, in no order of preference...;
robin williams, billy connelly, and one no-one here has likely heard, or heard of; brendan lovegrove |
Right now I think its
Dave Attel Carlos Mencia Leary and no thats about it. Leary's material holds for a long time, especially all his family stuff. Dave reminds me of the days gone by and Carlos is just funny. And how could I forget... probably cause he's dead. BILL HICKS was a fuggin genious!!!!! |
The top 6 in no order, except for Eddie:
*Eddie Izzard (Probably the smartest comic ever) *Mitch Headburg (WAY better than Stephen Write, whom he's often compaired to) *Kevin James (I wish he'd do more standup) *Dane Cook (best club comic touring right now) *Doug Stanhope (no other comic has shown their penis as much as him) *Sara Silverman (My future wife as soon as I can figure out how to knock off Jimmy Kimmel) |
Oops, I forgot to throw Bill Hicks in my list.... Make it top 7.
|
Robin Williams and George Carlin! Yehaw! Those 2 guys are hilarious. The best part, is that all of Georges stuff makes sence, like his ideas.
|
Jasper Carrot gets one of my votes. British Comedian -- his timing is great
Here's a clip about airports and baggage handlers http://www.renaissance59.fsnet.co.uk...20Handlers.mp3 And here's a piss take of the Magic Roundabout http://www.renaissance59.fsnet.co.uk...Roundabout.mp3 W A R N I N G - The above might only be understood by British listeners, and the American amongst us may just wonder why we fight wars together :) |
Mine is the girl that play Fez's girlfriend Caroline on That 70's show. Mostly because I think she's cute.
|
MOHAMMED SAID AL-SAHAF
|
I also vote for Bill Hicks, may he rest in peace.
|
Brian Regan
|
George Carlin by FAR. He points out the often times obvious, but things you really havent thought of before. Just saw him live not to long ago..he comes out to the stage and first thing out of his mouth is "you know what you dont here in the news ever....pu$$y farts" !!!! pure genious!
Hicks is good too "i think drugs have done some good things, i really do and if you dont think drugs have done good things i want you to do me a favor...go home tonight and take all your albums, and all your tapes, and all your cd's and BURN em...cuz you know what...the musicians who have made all that great music whos enhanced your lives throught out the years..........really f%#@! high on drugs".. )) |
Definately Robin Williams all the way.....
Mrs. Doubtfire is one of my favorite movies I'm starting to like Chris Tucker also Rodney Carrington (sex related comedian) |
WOW did anyone say Seinfeild or however you spell his name? I didn't care for his show or him but I would have thought someone would have thrown into the circle.
Dennis Leary in his prime would have to be my fave. The no cure for cancer cd is still funnier than poo. And thats funny |
|
Denis Lery is a fucing pisser. Is has gotta be my fave with Chris Tucker.
|
chris rock is the man.
bill hicks was the man. |
Mitch Hedburg, Kevin James, Zach Galifianakis, and, of course, Stephen Lynch. His CDs are good, but he's amazing live, see him if you get the chance.
|
George Carlin
Denis Leary Bill Hicks |
Andrew Dice Clay ('cmon.. its the Diceman!!)
George Carlin (I love his sarcasm) Richard Pryor Jerry Seinfeld (clean and funny) Tim Allen Kevin James (also clean and funny) Dave Chapelle Rodney Dangerfield Rodney Carrington (if Dice was from Oklahoma) |
Sid Caesar
Jerry Seinfeld (just saw him in concert last month) George Carlin Bill Cosby |
Don Rickles could always make me laugh.
|
i'd like to add to my little list...
Barry Humphries (aka Dame Edna). |
dennis miller....althought i rarely agree with what he says
|
cant believe no one has said brian regan....now that is one funny stand-up comedian.
other than him, dave chappelle, chris rock, robin williams, george carlin, d.l. highley, steven lynch, jon stewart, and the one man that always makes me laugh, stephen colbert from the daily show |
Ok, George Carlin tops the list! Nobody better than him!
|
I really enjoyed a guy named Zach Galifianakis I thought he was hilarious. However, my favorite has to be:
Lewis Black. That is all. |
Im a little surprised nobody has mentioned Redd Foxx yet.
George Carlin Carlos Mensia Eddie Izzard Dennis Leary Peter Sellers Chris Rock Robin Williams George Lopez |
Eddie Murphy, George Carlin, Dave Chapelle, Martin Lawrence, & John Leguizamo.
|
Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy all the way.
|
in this order:
lee evans eddie izzard ricky gervais |
Ok, without a doubt... NEIL HAMBURGER.
I am obsessed with him, I never really hear about anyone else being into him, which is a huge shame. Other, more popular favorites: Dane Cook, Lewis Black, Mitch Hedberg, & Dave Attell. |
Stephen Wright and George Carlin without a doubt.
|
Steven Lynch and Brian Regan are comic geniuses.

I caught that one, too. It was fuckin' hilarious! I'd like to add Steve Harvey. He has a rhythm like no one else. |
Eddie Izzard
Stephen Wright Christopher Tidus...I thought his show sucked but I caught his act in Florida and at the time was the funniest damn thing I had seen. |
Jeff Foxworthy
Bill Engvall Top 2, no question. As for the rest... Lewis Black Denis Leary George Carlin Ron White Jim Breuer Dana Carvey Robin Williams |
In order to me....
Sid Caesar George Carlin Bill Cosby Jerry Seinfeld Bob Hope |
Quote:
And Lee Evans, probably not well known in the US for his stand-up. I know he's not a comedian (or is he?!), but i think George Dubya Bush is fuckin' hilarious!! |
All time = Richard Pryor
Current = Kathleen Madigan |
SO many good ones past and present [sticking to satnd-up not counting genuinly funny comedic actors and entertainers]...
Eddie Murphy [when he ws funny] Sam Kinisan Chris Rock Bob Schimmel Colin Quinn Dave Attel Carlos Mencia Jim Norton Patrice So many more... |
ok...i saw this guy on comedy central one time who sat at a piano and played it and made some seriously funny shit up, he didnt really sing the piano was just kind of part of the background music. does anyone know who this is? he is seriously one of the funniest comedians ever.
|
Zach Galifinakis did that on one show on there.
YaWhateva, the guy you saw, did he have a beard? |

|
Stephen Wright.
|
Some old, some newer, most from the other side of the atlantic.
Tommy Cooper Eric Morcambe Eddie Izzard Billy Connelly Barry Humphries Steve Coogan |
Quote:
The one I saw was where he had a womens' choir singing in the background while he pulled big sheets of paper off of a giant pad marked with writing. Then he stripped down to ballet tights and started twirling and dancing to the choirs' singing. Does any of this sound familiar, YaWhateva? |
hahaha ya thats definitely him. Is it that Zach Galifinakis guy?

Jonathan Winters
Robin Williams George Carlin Steve Martin Richard Pryor Jack Black Chris Rock Dennis Miller Margaret Cho Red Skelton |
BIG fan of standup comedy here! I really like the following:
George Carlin (of course) Richard Pryor (goes without saying) Dennis Miller Robin Williams Sam Kinison Eddie Murphy (back in the Raw days) Ellen Degeneres (before her tv show and all the controversy) Eddie Izzard Henry Rollins (Maybe not a textbook definition of a standup comic, but he's pretty damn funny when he wants to be) Chris Rock I enjoyed Roseanne's stand up when she first made it big Bernie Mac Steven Wright and, yes, I like Carrot Top. If you can get those annoying phone commercials out of your mind and go see him live, then he's pretty funny. Also, if you enjoy Southern and redneck humor, I highly recommend picking up a dvd called the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. It's sort of a redneck Kings of Comedy. Even though a lot of the things they talk about are adult-related in theme, there's practically no profanity. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. It has these four comedians: Ron White Larry the Cable Guy Bill Engvall Jeff Foxworthy |
Woody Allen is my all time favorite. To me, he's the funniest person out there. The Marx Brothers are also a riot. Especially Chico.
|

Favorites: George Carlin Dave Chappelle |

Yeah, I think they're alright, why'd you ask ;) |

Chris Rock...his last HBO special is an all time classic.
Then of course Carlin, Miller, and the great Dice Man. |
George Carlin
Dennis Miller Chris Rock Carlos Mencia Lewis Black Bill Engvall Jeff Foxworthy Ron White Robin Williams Red Skelton Stephen Lynch I could go on forever. |
Sarah Silverman
1. She is Hot. 2. She is funny in an offensive way. 3. She can somehow get away with saying anything. She used to be on Mr Show but now is on Crank yankers and has done a few bit parts in different movies and shows. http://www.laweekly.com/images/ink/0...ateropener.jpg |
