The Daily Show
Anyone else watch this show? I have withdrawls if I don't see it when its on. Great political satire on this show.
I watch it about three times a year (don't watch much TV), but when I happen to catch it, it's incredibly funny and satirical. Instead of the usual farce shit, Jon Stewart makes you think (at least a little bit) and his jokes end up being twice as funny because of it.
I have more or less watched the show since it started and have always loved the writing, stewart is lightyears ahead of kilborn imo
I watch it once in a while, and love it every time!
I watch it whenever I can, though the dorm tv is usually taken at the 11pm showing for family guy. It's hit and miss lately, but when it hits, mutha frikkin' BAMM!
Used to watch it when Kilborn hosted but now I don't watch TV so i don't.
Yah, Jon Stewart is the man. I read an article on MSN the other day that about 20% of 18-25 year olds get their news solely from The Daily Show....
I've always enjoyed Jon Stewart's humor and comical ablility and I love the fact he has his own show to host. I always love catching the show, but without cable in the house, it's usally at a friend's house. I love his skits that he and staff do, great stuff.
My PVR records it every night, rerun or not.
First part = funniest 7-8 minutes on television Second part = meh unless its Back in Black Interview = actually interesting when he interviews political people lately, but for most actors, double meh |
If it weren't for Jon Stewart, election news coverage would be absolutely unbearable.

I love the show, and I agree, its the only way to keep my sanity once elections start. My roomate is writing an English paper on the Daily Show, but I'm not really sure what the basis for it is. I'll have to find out.
It's the only place I get my news.
Hi,
I agree, it's hilarious and if it weren't for that show, I would have now idea how the American political system works (I'm Canadian). He's a really hilarious comedian and people like Steven Colbert and Rob Corddry are hilarious as well. I am consistently impressed with the quality writing they keep up with day after day. My favourite show on TV right now. Thanks, Manga |
It's the only news I'll watch...it's also the only show that makes the news bearable. Thank you, Jon, your work is apprieciated.
It's pretty sad when watching news from the Daily Show is probably more honest and balanced than any other news program... They slam both sides as hard as they can, and comedy is always about finding the truth in life anyway. I think the casual watcher might see it and just get jokes, but there's a lot of honest-to-shit social commentary in the gags.
The Daily Show is constantly amazing... Jon is a hilarious and smart guy. And the humor isn't all just cheap shots, it's critical and intelligent.
Damn it, I need to make sure I watch that show every night now that I have cable. Oh, and anyone who doesn't: Comedy Central's website provides some significant clips of the show. Check it out if you want a fix. |
Personally, i think stewart himself is a little biased toward the left, and pretty anti-bush, but thats ok. He still reams the liberals whenever the chance comes up, it all ends up about the same in the end.
its virtually the only news i have.
I, like most people have already said, only get my news from the Daily Show.
And I don't really believe Jon is that into Bush-bashing, it's just that Bush is serving them plenty of material on a silver platter. |
most honest news show out there. I love it. When he interviews political figures its just so great. And i believe that when cteve colbert or one of the other anchor people interview someone, some of them think they are going to be interviewed by a real news channel and that makes it hilarious.
count me in as another canadian who follows american politics on the daily show. jon stewart and co are hilarious, and seem to be the only ones taking on the issues most of the time.
There is absolutely no other TV show on right now that makes me consistently laugh out loud - sometimes to the point of tears - than The Daily Show. I honestly would love if Jon Stewart stopped the interview portion of the show, and just did the news and "skits" for the full half hour!
I watch it when I can...damn funny stuff!

This is one of the best shows ever. Jon is great, so are the correspondents. And I wish Back in Black was on every episode.
Yeah, if the Daily Show had only introduced me to Lewis Black, I'd still be eternally grateful. But it's so much more than that. It's funny, but it's funny because they ask the questions that everybody else just dances around.
I read an interview with Stewart on the NPR site in which he said that real journalists often tell him they wish that they could do what the Daily Show does. In other words, a "fake news show" often gives a better picture of reality than the 'real' press are allowed to. That's a pretty sad, and pretty scary, statement. |
Last night he had richard clarke. He did a damn good interview. Tonight he's having bush aid karen hughes. I can't wait for him to skewer her if she tries to pull out the character assasination.
I love it. The only problem is that its on at the same time as Family guy. I usually get about half of each show flipping back and forth. I like that they will address obvious concerns and problems that mainstream media doesn't touch.

The show is a lot better with Jon Stewart hosting as compared to Craig Kilborn. Even the reporters (Stephen Colbert, Rob Corddry, Ed Helms, etc.) are hilarious.
Stephen Colbert is, easily, by far, the funniest guy on the show.
Great show. Its like watching a "real" news show, except they don't make the pretense of being real news. You turn on 60 minutes or any of the other shows and its just as rediculous.. except they are taking themselves seriously.
Did anyone else see that Orielly Factor where they had one of the Daily Show correspondants arguing in a debate? Apparently they thought he was a real journalist or something and he was making rediculous arguments and comments just like youd see in one of the investigative reports on the Daily Show. No one had any idea. Hilarious. |
